A Short History

In 1981, on my second day hanging out with the devotees in Sydney, Australia, I was riding in the back seat of a car reading a Back to Godhead magazine. There were two Prabhupada disciples in the front seat. I said something that was on my mind:

‘I understand that the 11 gurus are in a senior position of leadership, but I can’t accept that they are on the level of Srila Prabhupada.’

The driver pulled over immediately and they both wanted to kick me out of the car. I responded by saying it was an innocent question, and no harm intended. Then they spoke the old chestnut, ‘As individuals the 11 may not be on the same level as Srila Prabhupada, but collectively they are.’ Well, that made no sense whatsoever.

I didn’t know much, but from that day on I told whoever would listen that the emphasis was wrong, and Srila Prabhupada should be promoted more as our leader. Nobody cared or listened.

Fast forward to a later date, and I’m reading the discussion between Jayapataka Swami and others when they first met Sridhara Swami to discuss the guru conundrum. It was obvious that Jayapataka tried to influence the conversation from the get-go by claiming that Srila Prabhupada had appointed 11 full-fledged diksha gurus. I don’t profess to know Sridhara Swami well, but I was surprised to read that he not only accepted what he was told without question but encouraged the 11 to continue with their guru business as usual.

I understand he was being encouraging and trying to harmonize things, and that different groups have their own understanding of guru tattva, but I always wonder why Sridhar Swami didn’t refer to guru, sadhu, and shastra, as is the normal procedure, when replying. Instead, he was easily tricked by a fallacy and then compounded the problem by giving bad advice. And as they say folks, the rest is history.

P.S. Thank you Puranjana Prabhu for being a one-man battering ram for all these years, trying to knock some sense into devotees and break down the walls of corruption. Imagine how easy it would be if all true followers of Srila Prabhupada also grabbed hold of the battering ram and leant a hand. All glories to those who are trying in their own way to help ISKCON turn the corner to become a society of Srila Prabhupada followers – men, women, children, old, young, senior and junior – everyone.

PADA: Yeah, most of the "Prabhupada devotees" grabbed a battering ram, to attack me -- and not the debauchee messiah's project. Notice what they are saying, "Our debauchee messiahs are not pure, but they are the best we have." 

That is like saying -- having a prostitute with an arm full of heroin needle marks -- and she has AIDS -- is better than having a nice chaste wife because -- "she is the best we could find." Really! That is the best you could find, but where were you looking? 

Ummm, maybe you guys should have done a little more looking before you settled on worshiping illicit sex with men, women and children, drunks, pedos, dope heads, porno swamis etc. as your society's messiahs. 

I have no idea what this even means? "We are worshiping clowns, fools, predators, illicit sex with everyone in the house except the dog -- deviants -- because -- that is the best we could find." OK that means, you spent zero percent of your time and energy looking for someone better.

And as soon as I said, Srila Prabhupada is the better option than your debauchee messiahs, they said, we cannot stop the worship of debauchees, deviants, predators and pedos -- because then "we will be like the Christians." Well yup, the Christians do not worship illicit sex with men, women and children. You got me there pardner! 

We had to promote the worship illicit sex with men, women and children because that is the best we could find, means, you were looking for your messiahs in all the wrong places. 

But yeah, they will kick you out of the car, and kick you out of ISKCON, and maybe beat the sh*t out of you, and maybe have you assassinated, because they became a homosexual and pedophile worshiping violent cult. And they will have to answer to all that on Yamaraja's planet. 

"You were an enforcer -- for the enforced cult ritualistic worship of homosexuals and pedophiles as messiahs project, which bans, beats, molests, sues and kills Vaishnava, and did you not know what hellish planets the people who are doing that have to go to? 

"Well too bad, we folks here on Yama loka do know where you guys are headed. No one is allowed to harm a hair on the head of cow, never mind a Vaishnava. And your policy of banning, beating, molesting, suing and killing the Vaishnavas makes you MUCH more punishable than the average karmi, who would never harm a Vaishnava. 

"Moreover, the karmi's FEDS and police had to save people like Puranjan from being placed into an early grave from you folks, because the hamburger eater's society treats Vaishnavas 1,000% better than you guys ever could. Therefore, you have to be punished for participating in all this." 

The good news? There is a growing number of people who want to re-establish Srila Prabhupada as the sole acharya, and we offer our humble respects to all of them. They are the only hope for ISKCON, and the world.
