PADA: Pretty nice turn out this year. There are a lot of Prabhupadanugas in the South Bay and many of them turn up for the Ratha festival at the park. There are also various Gaudiya Math and Narayan Maharaja folks. Overall, shows there are a lot of Krishna bhaktas out there, they just don't want to participate in the GBC's guru imbroglio.
The Silicon Valley ISKCON folks (Vaisesika) have been criticized by an Indian gentleman -- who has attended their program -- for "not being able to attract any Westerners." Ummm yep, Westerners -- as a rule -- do not want to worship some clowns from a molester messiah's program.
At the same time, most everyone from all camps agree to worship Lord Jagannatha. That is nice! I think overall the emphasis on Srila Prabhupada is growing, and no one even knows -- or cares -- if any of the GBC's gurus come to these festivals nowadays, they just are not that important anymore.
