Message From A Mayapur Virus Victim

More prayers are needed for the Mayapur devotees who got affected by COVID-19! Hare Krishna.

By HG Krishnadas Kaviraj (ACBSP):

Hare Krishna Prabhus, Raivata Prabhu, who was a Toronto devotee for around 5 years is in Mayapura and fighting Covid. He has been working as an integral part of the TOVP team. His condition is very similar to Pankajanghri Prabhu's condition but he receives little remuneration for his work and cannot afford to go to hospital in Kolkata. He is on oxygen and BiPAP in the tiny hospital in Mayapura.

LETTER FROM A MAYAPUR RESIDENT IN HOSPITAL WITH COVID
Apr 19, 2021 | Devotee Care |

This is Raivata Das, from the Vamsi, being treated for Covid-19 by the group of devotees and nurses of the Mayapur Community Hospital.

EVERYTHING IN THE ISKCON OFFICIAL MESSAGE OF TODAY IS 100% TRUE.

The doctors, the nurses, the volunteers, the ones who bring and carry the oxygen tanks non-stop, the cleaners and everyone here in the Vamsi Bhavan are KILLING themselves to keep us alive. I am hooked up to an oxygen delivery machine and an oxygen tank. Between them they provide me with the oxygen I need to breathe. I am monitoring my oxygen levels 24 hours a day, adjusting the flow of oxygen to maintain stable oxygenation values. I’m doing it myself, 24 hours a day.

One second of carelessness, and one can have a decomposition and leave the body. It happened to the devotee in the next room, who took off his mask and had a heart attack and left the body. Right, he was old and had diabetes. He chose to leave and go back to Mahaprabhu.

My point of view is that right now, things are on fire. Lucky are those who catch the virus as a mild thing. In my case it is not so, and I got it from an irresponsible devotee on the day of Gaura Purnima’s Mangal arati, which I attended (even with a mask). It was JUST ONE SMALL SLIP, and you see, here I am, fighting for my life. And that’s not an exaggeration.

If I am still here, it is thanks to the enormous efforts of this group of dedicated devotees. I don’t have money to go to a hospital in Calcutta and get first class treatment in a fancy hospital. I am poor. I depend on the mercy of Mahaprabhu and the devotees, nothing else, like many other devotees here.

So I reinforce each and every point of the official message sent by ISKCON.

DO NOT BE IRRESPONSIBLE.

This second wave is devastating here in Mayapur. Do not infect other devotees.
I am still fighting to survive. It is not easy, that is the reality. I am infinitely grateful to the devotees for striving to keep my body and soul together.
Please help me by protecting yourselves and yours.

And please pray for me, that I may recover so that I can continue to serve Krishna and the Vaishnavas in this body. Thank you very much. Hare Krishna.
Your servant,
Raivata Das

[PADA: It is amazing that one year ago Jayapataka was asking for a few more million dollars to sue Bangalore, but there is evidently not much money to send the Mayapur workers to the hospital in Calcutta? Yep! This is amazing, there are millions of dollars on hand to spend on buying new Mercedes for lawyers, so they will have a nice ride to go out and perhaps buy chicken tikkas, but not even two pence to spend on the ISKCON citizens? What is wrong here pilgrims?

This sannyasa (below) has also got the virus, as did one India brahmachari just now as well. It seems like India is getting hammered, and ISKCON there is too.  M Dasi asks -- Is this the karma of making India the shelter of the ISKCON GBC's illicit sex with men, women and children guru parampara -- and burying pedophiles and deviants in the holy dham? There has to be karma for that, and maybe this is what is really going on here. It is possible. ys pd]

Jayapataka swami:

At this critical time we would like to ask you to
kindly donate more millions to our:

"sue the devotees of Krishna fund"

Our lawyers need new Mercedes!

  1. LW: It is pathetic ... so many poor devotees get no health care ... or barely. Only the fat cat GBC gurus go to "the best hospitals money can buy" ... with the best doctors. Jayapataka gets a giant surgery operation at the best hospitals every few years ... no sparing of expenses. They advertise ... only the top notch surgeons works on him. Meanwhile ... the poor devotees get top notch two paisa pills. Does no one see how badly the poor devotees are being exploited? And they have millions to sue Bangalore ... but only two paisa for their own workers? This is just more examples of exploiting ... as it has been ... the whole time. One of my gurukuli friends said ... they have no problem spending millions on lawsuits ... or even millions on themselves ... because it is all stolen money that they stole from the regular devotees. The only good news is ... more people are staying way from ISKCON ... because it looks like a hot spot for the pandemic. We need people to boycott them.

    [PADA: Well yup.]
