RM: It was deadly for my father in law. And before anyone asks, no, he did not die with covid, he died *from* covid. He had no other health issues that would cause death. He had hearing loss from an injury when he was young, but that doesn't cause death. My mother in law and sister in law are still struggling with the effects of being sick with covid, many months later. A lot of people who "recover" have lasting health issues *from* it.
[PADA: Yes, that is the problem with the "hydroxychloroquine is the cure" folks. They want millions of people to wait to get infected, then try to fix the problems after the fact. That is like speeding 180 mph in your new Maserati, because you know a good body repair shop that can fix crashed Maseratis.
So the many tens of thousands, or more of people, who will have long term bad effects are not really considered much. In other words, prevention and containment is always the better path. Again just like ISKCON -- we can do all sorts of crimes, no problems, we will hire big expensive lawyers to fix it. Meanwhile the White House is promoting as its experts -- Dr. Fauci, Brix, Redfield and others who say the hydroxychloroquine cure is a total fraud.
Looks like an intentional mutually exclusive contrary message to keep the mass of people off balance. ISKCON leaders do this all the time, you have to worship a pure devotee, and pure devotees are falling down left, right and center.
Of course it does not help that the White House promotes the mutually exclusive ideas: (A) hydroxychloroquine IS a cure, but (B) you have to listen to our hand selected paid experts who say its NOT a cure, and now we have (C) a new expert who is in FAVOR the HCQ drug, and she also promotes ideas about people being impregnated by demons, and then there is the alien DNA, and so on. The book 1984 calls this "doublespeak," it means, confuse the populace with contrary statements, and its working.]
ND: I had covid too, it was mild but I’m still struggling with the after effects. I guess some people won’t think this is serious until someone in their family or themselves go trough it. They are other people who think that even one dead from covid is one too many.

RM #2: Two of my co-workers tested positive for covid-19 last week. Both of them were asymptomatic. We work in a nursing home and we get tested every two weeks. If they weren't tested, and quarantined, they could have possibly spead the disease to our patients and staff. Chances are, many of our patients would not have survived. I am 100% for the testing. I'm also very thankful I get tested every two weeks. I could also be a carrier and not have any symptoms. Being tested, wearing a mask and social distancing is just being responsible. OK that does not "cure" them of all the ill side effects which can evidently last for years, or maybe a lifetime. Various devotees who have had it report having very severe and ongoing recovery problems. In sum, many devotees seem to be in denial of the severity of this issue. We hope that the sector of devotees who want "freedom from masks and social distancing" are not going to get sick, or make others sick. We should follow the advice to -- take precautions in my opinion. In sum, more devotees are getting the virus, we are not a bullet proof sector of the society. ys pd]
Haribol. Thanks very much for all the info prabhu. Yes, its pretty sad that S. Korea has had a proven effective test starting around February, and they offered to help us with the proper test formula. The White House apparently refused their help and we wanted to make our own USA test formula, maybe because we thought it would give money to some USA pharma company. Not sure what the problem was here? Anyway meanwhile EVEN NOW its hard to find a test, and its taking two weeks for the results in many cases in the USA, which is pretty useless anyway. So we said the virus is a hoax, its going away, we did not get the testing going, and in sum we fiddled as Rome has been burning down with the virus.

Meanwhile S. Korea's test was proven to be highly effective, and therefore in all this time they had less than 400 deaths. Taiwan also made a suitable test formula and they also were able to contain the virus way better than USA. For that matter even China is having a lot of success with mass testing, because their formula is largely effective. So if the USA does not follow what works, then fine, it won't work. We have to judge a thing by the result, according to the Vedas.
As for your question "Why isn't anyone talking about cancer, heart diseases, stroke, pulmonary disorders, driving deaths etc. etc." probably because cancer, strokes, driving deaths etc. are not a spreadable and thus transmitted to others death. In any case I am in favor of containing a problem. whether its a virus, child molesting, or any other problem. The countries that have contained the virus more than USA have simply have used a more intelligent process than has been used in the USA.
Its like seat belts. When the seat belt law came out, not every country mandated them, so their death rates remained higher. The countries that mandated seat belts saw deaths go down. In other words, where more intelligence is applied -- there are fewer deaths, and that applies to everything. Now we have come down to forwarding an "expert" who believes in alien DNA, women getting pregnant from witches in their dreams, the serpent demons running the world, and so on. So in others words, we are using less and less and less -- intelligence -- and relying more on uninformed if not whacky doodle folks. So its like everything, when less intelligence is applied, or worse -- the alien DNA folks are our experts, it doesn't work and won't work. And it will never work until the actual intelligent process that works is applied. Someone forwarded me a story of a pastor who wanted his church to stay open, and a bunch of his people got sick.
