Desi Cows TV Debate / Iran / You CAN Deviate 01 03 25

PADA: Yes prabhu it is odd, we cannot allow Churches to be burned down and Christians to be killed in Nigeria, but we can allow 200 year old Churches to be burnt to the ground -- and hundreds of thousands of Christians -- to be killed wholesale in Ukraine, that is not even a problem. It is amazing that hardly anyone notices this, agreed. ys pd

DESI COWS TV DEBATE: English transcript of video included at bottom.

We can thank ISKCON Shastric Advisory Council member Hari Parshada Das, mother Urmila Dasi (Edith Best), and ISKCON Ministry of Daiva Varnashrama Dharma (and many other ISKCON leaders) for all helping to spread this demonic philosophy that western breeds of cows are not actually cows and therefore may be killed.

And this idea is now being spread widely in the India media and on TV, which creates an excuse to kill "other cow species." India already has a cow killing problem and ISKCON leaders are making it worse. Of course the same leaders already spread the idea that acharyas are often deviating, and this is just another example of their word jugglery causing harm, if not unauthorized deaths.

These are some of the people who have written articles and supported this concept, and in the case of the ISKCON Ministry of Daiva Varnashrama, have even published books declaring this.

By denying an animal his rightful identity as sacred and non-killable (the status of a cow in the Vedic view), you become a killer of cows. You know a cow is exempt from being killed, yet you loudly proclaim, "This animal is not a cow, [thus you may kill it]."

You are the killer of cows, each one of you that spreads this teaching.

This seems to be one of the divides between ISKCON India and ISKCON in the rest of the world. Devotees outside of India tend to understand (as Srila Prabhupada taught) that all cows are sacred, but devotees within India have been fooled into promoting a globalist agenda to declare the majority of cows as not sacred. This allows people to say cow slaughter is not actually bad as long as they are not 100 percent pure Indian breed cows (any tiny amount of mix makes them not sacred).

Everyone should speak out against this demonic philosophy. We may not be able to change the world and stop this, but we should be standing on the side of mother cow speaking against it.

This is not just a discussion as to which breed is more beautiful, which is more friendly, which has better milk, etc. They have directly stated, "they are not cows", they are not sacred, they are not worshipable, they are not unkillable. Can you understand how sinful such a statement is?

Everyone may have a favorite breed of dog or cow, or someone may favor one milk taste over another, someone may say one color of cow is more beautiful, that is all irrelevant. They are saying these are not cows and are not sacred. They have passed a death judgement on them.

Yes, some cow may be more beautiful, some cow may have nicer features, some cow may be very friendly, some cow's milk may be very sweet, but they are all cows and are all sacred. Where are the ISKCON leaders who are willing to stand up and speak in defense of mother cow?

TV Transcript

00:00 - 00:10 Anchor: Aapke BJP ke neta bhi North East mein khud garv se kehte hain ki hum khate hain. Aur yeh jo gau hatya par ban lagna chahiye, North East mein nahi lagega yeh. Goa mein nahi lagega, bahut saare states mein nahi lagega. Translation: Even your BJP leaders in the North East proudly say themselves that "we eat it." And regarding this ban that should be imposed on cow slaughter—it won't be applied in the North East. It won't be applied in Goa; it won't be applied in many states.

00:10 - 00:16 Guest: Bahut gajab jaankari aap logon ko rehti hai, batata hoon. Hamare liye kaun mata hai? Gaaye mata hai. Theek? Translation: You people possess such amazing information; let me explain. For us, who is the mother? The Cow is the mother. Okay?

00:17 - 00:23 Guest: Jo North East mein khaya jaata hai woh gaaye hai kya? Nahi ji. Uska naam hai Mithun. Translation: Is what is eaten in the North East actually a cow? No, sir. Its name is Mithun (Gayal).

00:23 - 00:29 Guest: Jo gaaye hai uska zoological naam hai Bos indicus. Aur jo North East mein khaya jaata hai that is Bos taurus. Translation: The [Indian] cow, its zoological name is Bos indicus. And what is eaten in the North East, that is Bos taurus.

00:29 - 00:35 Guest: Toh hum Homo sapiens hain na? Orangutan nahi hain. Homo erectus hai na? Isilye main kehna chahta hoon, gaaye mata hai. Translation: So, we are Homo sapiens, right? We aren't Orangutans. [We are] Homo erectus, right? That is why I want to say, the Cow is mother. (Note: The speaker is using human species classifications to argue that distinct biological species should be treated differently).

00:36 - 00:38 Anchor: Matlab ek khaas prajati ki gaaye ko kha[na]... allowed hai? Translation: Meaning eating a specific species of cow is allowed?
00:38 - 00:42 Guest: Ab jaise... Gaaye mata hai, Jersey gaaye mata nahi hai na? Translation: Now, for example... The Cow is mother, but the Jersey cow is not "mother," right?

IRAN IS A MESS

‘We have failed’: Iran’s president shocks nation, admits regime failure amid Trump's invasion threat.

Iran is facing its largest wave of unrest in years as nationwide protests spread to more than 35 cities, with demonstrators openly chanting against Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and demanding sweeping political change. In a stunning admission, President Masoud Pezeshkian publicly blamed his own government for the crisis, saying mismanagement — not foreign enemies — has fueled public anger.

Security forces have responded with tear gas and live ammunition, leaving at least 7 people dead and dozens injured. With Iran’s economy collapsing, food prices soaring up to 70%, and frustration boiling over after the war with Israel, the country is now at one of its most volatile moments in decades.

PADA: Wow, the common people cannot afford rent, cars, food, gas -- and living overall, and their water is running out, but the government has billions to make drones and missiles, and give billions to Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis and others. And now they are shooting and killing protesters. This is called Kali Yuga governing. Shooting protesters means, they don't want to change the situation and they want the status quo.

I TOLD THIS GUY IN 1979: "DON'T TAKE KARMA
YOU WILL SUFFER."
AND -- HE IS

YOU CAN DEVIATE

Prabhupāda: "You can imagine your own way ... "Whatever you like, you can do."
You can imagine your own way of self-realization."

(Room Conversation -- December 12, 1970, Indore)
--------------
Prabhupāda: You can imagine your own way..." "This is going on nowadays. Whatever you like, you can do."

But that is not recommended in the Vedic literatures. One must be sadācāra.

This is the beginning of sadācāra, to rise early in the morning, to cleanse, then chant, or chant the Vedic mantras or, simplified as in the present age, Hare Kṛṣṇa mantra, mahā-mantra.

- Note: Here, the modal verb "can" seems to mean that Srila Prabhupada authorizes, permits, advises, or instructs as something lawful and correct:
"Whatever you like, you can do. You can imagine your own way of self-realization."

Or perhaps this interpretation is absurd, and here Srila Prabhupada uses the modal verb "can" signifying each person's ability to do anything he want, even if it is illicit or sinful. This doesn't matter.
Srila Prabhupada clarifies the true meaning of his expression by next saying:

"This is going on nowadays. But that is not recommended in the Vedic literature."

Srila Prabhupada rejects this independence tendency based on Vedic literature.
Therefore, the use of can here does not mean lawful, correct, advice, permission,
but quite the opposite: unlawful, incorrect, something that should not be done.

“Can” is a modal verb and, like *might* and other modal verbs, it has various functions, or abilitity, including you can deviate.

So what is the meaning of the modal verb "can" in the following sentences?
"A neophyte Vaiṣṇava or a Vaiṣṇava situated on the intermediate platform can also accept disciples,"(Upadesamrta verse 5, purport.)

First, Srila Prabhupada says: "One should not become a spiritual master unless he has attained the platform of uttama-adhikārī."(Upadesamrta verse 5, purport.)
One should not become a spiritual master 𝗶𝗳 he has not attained the platform of uttama-adhikārī. Only the uttama-adhikārī devotee should become a spiritual master and accept disciples.

"We can see from practical experience that there are different types of Vaiṣṇavas."
There are three types of devotees—the kaniṣṭha-adhikārī, madhyama-adhikārī and uttama-adhikārī. Here in Upadesamrta, verse five, Srila Prabhupada makes a clear distinction between each of these three types of Vaisnavas:

-the kaniṣṭha-adhikārī or neophyte Vaiṣṇava,is a neophyte,the neophyte stage,
a devotee on the lowest platform, on the elementary platform of devotional service -- the madhyama-adhikārī should be considered to be situated midway in devotional service, a Vaiṣṇava situated on the intermediate platform of devotional service.

The uttama-adhikārī or highest devotee, is a highly advanced devotee, a devotee on the highest platform of devotional service, the platform of a first-class devotee.
An uttama-adhikārī is not interested in blaspheming others, his heart is completely clean, and he has attained the realized state of unalloyed Kṛṣṇa consciousness.

"One should not become a spiritual master unless he has attained the platform of uttama-adhikārī."(Upadesamrta verse 5,purport. )

Obviously, those who have not attained the platform of uttama-adhikārī are
a neophyte Vaiṣṇava and a Vaiṣṇava situated on the intermediate platform
These two types of devotees have not attained the platform of uttama-adhikārī.
A neophyte Vaiṣṇava and a Vaiṣṇava situated on the intermediate platform have not attained the platform of uttama-adhikārī.

A neophyte Vaiṣṇava and a Vaiṣṇava situated on the intermediate platform should not become a spiritual master, should not accept disciples, which means something that is wrong to do even though you have the ability to do it.

For example, one should not steal, but one can steal. It's something that is prohibited, unauthorized, not allowed. Every existing law uses these terms; it has this structure. Then, in the following line, after saying that: A neophyte Vaiṣṇava and a Vaiṣṇava situated on the intermediate platform should accept disciples.

Thus, by misinterpreting the modal verb "can" as authorization or permission, something possible, what is incorrect, forbidden, or illegal becomes correct, legal, and permitted.

There are countless warnings on becoming a premature guru. So when we say we can become guru prematurely -- to say this is authorized
is a complete misrepresentation of Srila Prabhupada's words, as he clearly states in the preceding line that it is forbidden to do this.

  1. JD: I knew it all along! Save the Desi cows, and not others, let them die.

Save the pedophile gurus ... like Lokanath, let the children be alienated and all leave. And want to sue ISKCON.

They are always saving the bad ideas, the ideas that are harming others. And removing the good ideas, and the people with good the ideas. So then? The bad ideas become the standard.

This is more or less helping the beef cattle industry. What? You thought I would be suprised?
