We wish to inform you that our beloved Guru Mahārāja has decided to proceed with a medical treatment, starting today, aimed at improving his kidney function and, by extension, his overall quality of life. This decision has been reached after careful consideration and consultation with respected medical experts from around the world, as well as Guru Mahārāja’s own thoughtful and prayerful deliberation.
During this treatment period, Guru Mahārāja will be particularly vulnerable to infections and other risks. In order to give this treatment the best possible chance of success—and to protect his health and well-being—Guru Mahārāja has agreed to, and specifically requested, the implementation of a very strict infection-prevention protocol for a limited period of several weeks. He will also be under round-the-clock monitoring by a group of doctors at his home base in Mayapur.

NARAYAN MAHARAJA and POISON ISSUE
Day 23: The Astonishing Pastimes of Sri Srimad Bhaktivedanta Narayan Goswami Maharaja, Gurudeva: This post is explosive and astounding, never the less, it is one of my memories of sitting with Gurudeva, so I will share it. Whilst staying in Keshavji Gaudiya Math in Mathura, I was reading a large stack of papers relating to the poisoning of Srila A C Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. My first beloved Teacher.
The evidence was there, and there was alot! By the time I finished reading 
I was on a rampage, filled with so much anger and tears all mixed together, so I took it to Gurudeva. I came to Gurudeva’s door with my tears, my anger, and the heavy stack of papers, which I plopped down on his bed with a loud thud. Gurudeva sat upright, “oh, what is this?” “They murdered Prabhupada” I wept.
I was on a rampage, filled with so much anger and tears all mixed together, so I took it to Gurudeva. I came to Gurudeva’s door with my tears, my anger, and the heavy stack of papers, which I plopped down on his bed with a loud thud. Gurudeva sat upright, “oh, what is this?” “They murdered Prabhupada” I wept. “Yes, but you should know that he did not leave this world because of the poison. He left because Srimati Radhika called him for some special service. He is a pure devotee, and no one can kill him”. Then he thought for a minute and continued, “they may also try to poison me, but I will not take any prasad from them. Not ever!” Then he thought some more, and continued, “did you know that also Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Prabhupada was poisoned in the same way, with arsenic in the milk. By his own disciples!” he said. I cried all night.
The offenses to the pure devotee may be forgiven by him, but not by the Supreme Lord, Krishna. Krishna never forgets. Srila Gurudeva ki Jaya!!! There used to be a mighty sage named Durvasa. He was notorious for his irritability and short temper; everyone feared him, and no one wanted to see him. Who knows when he will get angry and curse?
PADA: Yep, when I came out with the poison issue Narayan Maharaja was my worst critic, saying I am making offenses and all that. He even invited me to his ashram "to discuss all this," but he avoided seeing me the whole day as I sat there, then he left the property out the back door.
That means the poison tape remained in my pocket and I was unable to give it to him. He was infuriated I was exposing his GBC guru pals like Tamal. Later on he was forced to admit, but he never apologized to me for making things very hard for me by inciting the GBC people to go against me, and threaten to kill me etc. He was trying to make me a target for assassination, and he did. But he knew I was right the whole time. In other words he was playing politics to imperil the lives of others and defend his poison sabha pals. ys pd

DURVASA MUNI and SHAKUNTALA
Durvasa would drop by anywhere and at anyone’s house or function unannounced, and if he found any fault with his welcome, he would immediately curse his host.
One day, while roaming around, Sage Durvasa suddenly reached Sage Kanva’s hermitage. He found a girl sitting at the entrance, lost in her own thoughts, and she didn’t even look at Sage Durvasa. She didn’t get up, bow to him, welcome him, or show respect. That girl was none other than Shakuntala, the adopted daughter of the sage Kanva.
Sage Kanva was not in his ashram and had been away for some work. A few days back, King Dushyanta reached the hermitage of Sage Kanva while hunting. Shakuntala and King Dushyant both fell in love with each other. King Dushyanta marries Shakuntala as a Gandharva and leaves for his capital, promising to return and take her with him.
When King Dushyant did not come to meet and pick up Shakuntala for many days, Shakuntala went to King Dushyant. However, due to the curse, Dushyant refused to recognize Shakuntala in front of everyone. When Shakuntala returned to the ashram with a sad heart, she gave birth to a son. Later, that boy became known as the most glorious and brave king in history, Bharata. The name of India also came to be known by the name of this brave Bharata.
In the Mahabharata, Shakuntala introduces herself to Dushyanta when he visits her hermitage during a hunting expedition in the absence of her foster father, Kanva. The two fall in love and secretly marry according to the Gandharva tradition (a love marriage), consummating their union in the forest. Afterward, Dushyanta returns to his palace life and gradually forgets about Shakuntala.
SB 9.20.20, Purport: Mahārāja Duṣmanta knew that Śakuntalā and the boy were his own wife and son, but because they came from outside and were unknown to the citizens, he at first declined to accept them. Śakuntalā, however, was so chaste that an omen from the sky declared the truth so that others could hear. When everyone heard from the omen that Śakuntalā and her child were truly the King's wife and son, the King gladly accepted them.

Years later, she approaches him with their son, Bharata, but he hesitates to acknowledge them. Outspoken and fearless, Shakuntala rebukes him forcefully until a celestial voice intervenes to confirm the truth, compelling Dushyanta to accept her and their son.
Shakuntala, lost in thoughts of him, fails to greet the irascible sage Durvasa, who curses her so that Dushyanta will forget her entirely. The curse can only be lifted if he sees a token of their love — a signet ring he had given her. The now-pregnant Shakuntala journeys to the palace, but she loses the ring in a river and is rejected by Dushyanta, who fails to recognise her.
Humiliated and abandoned, she is lifted away by celestial beings to her divine mother Menaka's abode. The lost ring is later found in a fish's belly and returned to Dushyanta, restoring his memory. Overcome with remorse, he longs for Shakuntala, and in time, reunites with her—now with their son, Bharata.

SB 9.20.21, Translation: The voice said: O Mahārāja Duṣmanta, a son actually belongs to his father, whereas the mother is only a container, like the skin of a bellows. According to Vedic injunctions, the father is born as the son. Therefore, maintain your own son and do not insult Śakuntalā.
SB 9.20.22, Translation: O King Duṣmanta, he who discharges semen is the actual father, and his son saves him from the custody of Yamarāja. You are the actual procreator of this child. Indeed, Śakuntalā is speaking the truth.

USA DEFENSE BUDGET INCREASE
President Trump on Wednesday said he’s seeking a massive and unprecedented increase in the U.S. defense budget for 2027, lifting the funding for the military trillion to $1.5 trillion.
In a Truth Social post, Trump said the higher level of spending would reflect the “very troubled and dangerous times” and allow the country to “build the ‘Dream Military’ that we have long been entitled to and, more importantly, that will keep us SAFE and SECURE, regardless of foe.”2026 military budget of $901 billion, with additional funding from the Republican reconciliation bill lifting the total to roughly $1 trillion.
The United States spends more on defense than the next nine countries combined, based on 2024 data, but Trump said he had decided that the surge in defense spending is necessary after “long and difficult negotiations” with members of Congress and others. He claimed that the increased funding would be paid for by revenue from the tariffs he has imposed — and said that if it weren’t for that revenue, he would say the budget should be kept at $1 trillion.
Trump claimed that the tariff income would also enable the government to pay down debt and provide “a substantial Dividend to moderate income Patriots within our Country!” Trump has proposed sending $2,000 tariff rebate checks to most Americans.
