ISKCON's Karma -- from Aparadha?

GPD: In Caitanya Bhagavata, Vrindavan Dasa thakur says that when Vaisnava aparadha occurs, the entire village of the perpetrator is tarnished (in addittion to the perp themself). In modern times, this means that the social circle and society of the offender suffers the consequences alongside the offender. This is something Iskcon members should consider.

Bhakti by itself is unstoppable - one of its qualities is apratihata - it cannot be inhibited or checked by any powers of the maya sakti / material world. The only thing that can block bhakti is misbehaviour inside the domain of bhakti herself, exclusively through the abuse of those whom possess bhakti.

It is certain that the children who were born into Iskcon are in possession of bhakti, to greater and lesser extents. Because many of these devotee children were abused in the nastiest of ways, bhakti must necessarily withdraw not just from the individual perpetrator, but from the wider environment of the crime, too. The society in which the crime is committed also suffers a very real loss of bhakti. This is what Vrindavana Das Thakur is saying.

In this regard we may cast our glance at history, at the society of Prabhupada's guru, at the Gaudiya Math.

The Gaudiya Math was unstoppable in the 1920's and 30's, but with the departure of Sri Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati it began to rapidly degrade, due to, if you look at the history, vaisnava aparadha.

But that vaisnava aparadha was less serious than that which has taken place inside Iskcon. Indeed, iskcon has taken vaisnava aparadha to new levels through the rape of devotee children. The subsequent cover up of offenders by leadership confirms that the disease is endemic. Or in other words, the aparadha is society-wide. Vrndavana das Thakur was right.

Prabhupada left the Gaudiya Math and started his own society for problems less severe than those that are now present in Iskcon. Given this, and the degraded crimes done in Iskcon, is it possible that Prabhupada would disown Iskcon and start a new society if he were here today? The logical answer is YES.
Personally, I made my choice along this line of thought.

[PADA: Yes, karma spreads to all the participants of a particular society in different degrees, and it has a collective effect. That applies to any society or religion. Just like now -- collectively -- the planet itself is suffering the ill effects of various sinful behaviors and the result is -- devastating droughts, floods, wars and so many anomalies.

And ISKCON has suffered severe deterioration from allowing all sorts of sinful behaviors to overtake the society, especially the sin of orchestrated child abuse. Clearly that is one of the worst among different grades of sins. OK, let us sum it all up as -- Vaishnava aparadha.

Oddly, many leaders and even a number of parents gave me a hard time when I brought forward the child abuse issue. They thought -- I am trying to insult the senior devotees; I am trying to destroy ISKCON; I am trying to bankrupt ISKCON, and so on. OK but what about the suffering of the victims, including some cases of drug abuse, loose morals partying (out of frustration), never mind -- depression, PTSD, and even suicides. Never mind some victims hate the religion wholesale.

Someone committed serious aparadha to these Vaishnava children! And someone else failed to report these crimes to the authority. Evidently, the children did not rate as a big enough priority issue. And how many of the parents of victims reported these horrific abuses to the police? Well jeepers prabhu, we cannot do that, that will be insulting the advanced devotees, that will cost money, that will destroy ISKCON, and so on. Excuses to continue these aparadhas.

Even Naranaryan das, Sanat, Mukunda, Prahlad das, Dayalu Nitai's HKC Jaipur, Pancali etc. all started crying like stuck pigs when they found out someone was going to challenge their pedophile messiahs project, and so they kept saying that destroying their pedophile worship process is "destroying ISKCON." Ok that is the same argument I am having right now with a Sridhara Maharaja follower. He says that my actions are bad for ISKCON. OK but what is ISKCON?

Worse, a lot of them said that the reason they support the GBC's pedophile regime is they are "chanting their rounds" and we are not! Oh no, chanting your rounds turns you into a cheer leader for pedophile worship? Then why would anyone bother? Saying that a person who chants their rounds is then a cheer leader for child abuse guru cults is nama aparadha.

Sorry, Srila Prabhupada would be kicked out of current ISKCON if he came back here. As soon as he would say pedophiles are not part of the parampara, he would be booted out the door and they would have him arrested for trespassing. In other words, they hijacked his religion. This is guru aparadha.

In the end, there is a lot of collective and individual karma -- which will settle down on various people -- just like the dust settles down after we beat our rug outside with a broom.

Lots of dust, but it all settles in one place or another, and it is -- and it is afflicting different devotees in different ways. I largely agree with this person, Srila Prabhupada would have to start all over if he returned, he would be banned from his own institution. Which is one reason I am not too worried if the institution officially continues or not. It is too sinful, and thus filled with aparadha. ys pd] angel108b@yahoo.com
