SABOTAGING A LITERARY LEGACY (Karuna Dasi speaks out)

SABOTAGING A LITERARY LEGACY

Karuna Dasi speaks out

Not a single "editor" of Bhagavad-gita As It Is would have been able to touch any Gita had Śrīla Prabhupada not risked his life to come save the fallen Kaliyugites of the West. Let them write their own versions, but leave the version of Śrīla Prabhupāda's alone. It is his sole property.

Just as devotees never desire the liberation of merging into the Lord, they avoid merging into the status of their spiritual master or sabotaging his literary legacy. It's not only disrespectful, but a threat to the etiquette of preserving the disciplic Sampradaya succession. Isn't it?

Even if they write their own Gita, a disciple of His Divine Grace AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada is eternally in debt to his Gita. But it is surely more palatable to have the mental speculation versions far distant from the Bhagavad-gita As It Is.
And therein Śrīla Prabhupada should be the only name on his books til the end of time. I can't agree that any other name should be on his books.

When he was asked if he knew everything, Prabhupāda's reply was that he knew everything that Kṛṣṇa wanted him to know.
