Bhakti Charu Swami Departs

https://iskconnews.org/beloved-iskcon-guru-bhakti-charu-swami-passes-away,7418/

Dear Devotees,

Please accept our humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

It is with overwhelming heartache that we announce to you the departure of our beloved godbrother and a dearmost servant of Srila Prabhupada, His Holiness Bhakti Charu Swami.

From his earliest days as a young devotee, Maharaja had the extraordinary privilege of serving as one of Srila Prabhupada's confidential, personal servants. And ever since, His Holiness Bhakti Charu Maharaja's life has been an offering of love at the lotus feet of his spiritual master.

Indeed, there was not a service that Maharaja did not perform for the pleasure of Srila Prabhupada. As instructed in their very first meeting, Maharaja translated every one of Srila Prabhupada's written works into Bengali, the language of Srila Prabhupada's own birth. To fulfill this cherished order, Maharaja took on years of austerity, rising at midnight to carefully translate his spiritual master's divine words.

Maharaja served as one of the most active members of the GBC Body, he was an initiating spiritual master with many dedicated disciples all over the world, and he shared Krishna consciousness in every segment of society from simple Bangladeshi villages to the British parliament. Maharaja encouraged and advised ISKCON leaders in management and spiritual topics, he saved more than one ISKCON project in times of despair, and did his utmost to contribute to the welfare of the most vulnerable members of society.

One of Maharaja's unique contributions was the "Abhay Charan" television series that brought the glorious life and pastimes of Srila Prabhupada to the world on an unprecedented scale. And most recently, Maharaja again heightened the glory of his spiritual master by building a marvelous temple and devotee community in the holy city of Ujjain.

Maharaja's voice, sweeter than honey, has immortalised many of our acaryas' prayers, and most famously, Maharaja's heartfelt rendition of the gopis' song of seperation from the 10th Canto of Srimad Bhagavatam rings in our ears.

Despite his position and many qualifications, both material and spiritual, Maharaja was a humble and loving gentleman who took pleasure in serving devotees. Indeed, one of Maharaja's favorite pastimes was to personally cook and serve prasadam for the devotees. As in all aspects of his service and gentle and cultured nature, Maharaja's cooking was highly refined and infused with bhakti.

There are no words that provide solace when facing separation from such a glorious Vaisnava, but we can take some comfort in the fact that His Holiness Bhakti Charu Maharaja lived constantly in meditation on how to serve Srila Prabhupada and his mission. Undoubtedly, he now continues that service under the direction of His Divine Grace.

Let us offer true homage to Maharaja by continuing his legacy of service in our own lives. Let us commit ourselves, mind, body, and soul, to the service of Srila Prabhupada, following in the footsteps of his beloved servant, His Holiness Bhakti Charu Swami.

One of Maharaja's most cherished instructions from His Divine Grace was, "Your love for me will be show by how you cooperate together after I am gone." Now, in Maharaja's absence, we are reminded to take that instruction to heart and reaffirm our dedication to ISKCON, and to each other.

We also commit ourselves, as Maharaja's servants, to assist and care for his loving disciples in his absence. It was very important to Maharaja that we operate as one family in Srila Prabhupada's service and we remind you today that although Maharaja is no longer physically present, you are protected by the shelter of many devotees who are ready to offer you the support you may require at this difficult time and in the future.

As Maharaja often glorified Srila Prabhupada with the beautiful words of the gopis, let us also remember Maharaja as that most munificent Vaisnava who will eternally inspire the followers of Srila Prabhupada to share the glories of Lord Krishna:

tava kathamrtam tapta-jivanam
kavibhir iditam kalmasapaham
sravana-mangalam srimad atatam
bhuvi grnanti ye bhuri-da janah

"The nectar of Your words and the descriptions of Your activities are the life and soul of those suffering in this material world. These narrations, transmitted by learned sages, eradicate one’s sinful reactions and bestow good fortune upon whoever hears them. These narrations are broadcast all over the world and are filled with spiritual power. Certainly those who spread the message of Godhead are most munificent."

His Holiness Bhakti Charu Swami ki jaya!

Srila Prabhupada ki jaya!

Hare Krsna,

Your servants,

[PADA: Sulochana said these soft spoken "nice guy" goody two shoes supporters of the illicit sex with men, women and children guru parampara are "the velvet gloves that cover the iron fist." Once we challenge the velvet glove people, we get smashed to bits by the iron fist they are actually representing, and hiding and covering for. And Sulochana was in fact smashed to bits by their process.

Anyway, now Bhakti Charu swami has the rather unpleasant task of explaining to Lord Yamaraja, "What exactly is an illicit sex with men, women and children guru parampara, that bans, beats, molests, sues and kills the Vaishnavas? And why would you be the biggest cheer leader of that process? And you also knew about the poison complaint from Srila Prabhupada, and you not only covered it up, but you promoted the main suspects as God's successors?"

Good questions! A devotee said -- 4th of July in Sulochana's birthday, and on his birthday we got rid of one of the worst case helpers of the program that killed him. Poetic justice!

Anyway! Good luck explaining all that to Lord Yamaraja BCS Maharaja, you are gonna need it! Again, we don't personally wish these people well or unwell, we think their karma speaks for itself and it will be worked out fine by the higher authority, which never tolerates making fools and lusty conditioned souls into acharyas, nor cheer leaders of same.

Anyway this leaves the GBC in a pickle, they no longer have their nice guy Bengali scholar to boost up their system. They are left with the hand me downs of not too prominent, not too bright, and not too capable guys and various sickly and falling apart folks. OK they also have some out to lunch Krishna Westerners and etc. They thought Bhakti Charu was going to take over Mayapur when Jayapataka leaves, who would have figured Jayapataka would outlive his heir apparent?

PADA: Yes, now that Bhakti Charu swami has departed, their chief Bengali scholarly hand maiden / puppet / regime prop upper / apologist is gone. They are diminishing all the time, its just hard to see how that is happening because it appears to be a slow process. However its really pretty fast from historical perspective. ys pd

  1. AB: We at Queer Hindu Alliance are deeply saddened by the news of His Holiness Bhakti Charu Swami Maharaj's passing away. Our thoughts & prayers are with his disciples around the world, ISKCON & devotee community at large.

Maharaja ji was a shining example of an ideal servant serving the vision of his Guru. Maharaj was involved in creating, writing, producing and directing the epic biographical video series – Abhay Charan. With over 100 episodes broadcast on Indian National television, the series chronicled Srila Prabhupada’s life and achievements. Apart from he was an initiating spiritual master with many dedicated disciples all over the world, and shared the message of selfless devotional service in every segment of society from simple Bangladeshi villages to the British parliament.

Maharaja's voice, sweeter than honey, has immortalised many of traditional Vaishnava prayers, and most famously, Maharaj's heartfelt rendition of the Gopi Geeta song of separation from the 10th Canto of Srimad Bhagavatam rings in our ears.

A legendary spiritual visionary and leader, He was a guiding force to numerous devotees around the world. His message of pure devotional love and compassion has inspired one and all to build a better world. May His teachings continue to enlighten the world in these times and his memory be an inspiration.

    Hare Krishna & Om Shanti!

[PADA: Yep, the "Queer Hindu Alliance" misses the guy already. Ok, sorry for your loss. ys pd]

  2. SG: What hypocrites these men are. Yes Bhakticharu was a gentleman on the surface. Unfortunately, he also presided over an extreme form of corruption and the preservation of the corrupted status quo at all cost ... a cost that ultimately took him!

He joined iskcon at a time when he was exactly required by Srila Prabhupada as a confident to deal with Prabhupada's blood family and other sensitive matters that no white elephant could possibly comprehend. Thus he rocketed through the ranks as an outsider to the big white boys, but as a Bengali? A natural born insider and a natural born spiritual leader too? NO!

Most Western "outsiders" have absolutely no idea about anything regarding Bengal and Bengali Vaishnavism. He did the original job perfectly! I've witnessed Prabhupada chatting with Bhakticharu as easily as if they were old school friends (how that burnt the big white boys by the way). None of them were able to receive that level of intimacy with Prabhupada. None of them.

However what happened after Prabhupada left is a disaster, and the job iskcon gave him? Well that we'll all be seeing as it all unravels before our eyes, as they fight tooth and nail for the few leftover scraps. Power abhors a vacuum. And the big white boys? Their time is over and done with! All these hagiographic obituaries? As sweet as hagiographic obituaries go ... but in reality as far removed from reality as Pluto is from the sun!

And while the crocodiles shed their oh so salty tears as the deer come closer to their jaws? Who the damn hell am I to wreck their party? And oh bhaiya! what a Croc party it will be ... Hallelujah.

[PADA: Yep, their party is about over. Agreed.]

  3. Jayapataka swami: HARE KRISHNA. WE SHOULD CARRY ON HIS LEGACY

I was talking to Guru Gauranga das. He told me that how for the last hour and a half hours in this world, that his cousin Prana Govinda was with him all the time, chanting Hare Krsna, chanting the Panca Tattva mantra and that when he would chant Hare Krsna, Bhakti Caru Swami opened his eyes. So when he left he was very Krsna conscious.

So, for us this is a great loss because we needed his association but Srila Prabhupada, Krsna must have needed him somewhere else. So, we should carry on his legacy. He showed us how to serve Srila Prabhupada very dedicatedly. He was very loving to all the devotees and he was a very special, pure soul. HH JAYAPATAKA SWAMI

    Sri Dham Mayapur, India

[PADA: I heard that they are going to pay a bomb of money to get BCS's body refrigerated and flown over to Mayapur to place him in a samadhi there. Moving a virus body laden is going to cost a heap with all sorts of extra handling fees. They are really desperate to cling onto whatever credibility he is giving the GBC guru show bottle performance. That's great, he will have a place along with the GBC's pedophile and porno swami's samadhis. ys pd]
