[PADA: In China, people who initially reported the problem were -- suppressed by the leadership. And in S. Korea -- leaders of this sect -- also did not want to report the problem properly. Until it was too late, because by then the problem was too widespread at that state of affairs.

In sum, folks who wanted to report the crisis were suppressed and told "not to create a panic." And in ISKCON many folks similarly -- did not report the child abuse problem -- and a host of other crimes, until it was too late. Can't create a panic prabhu! That is one of the questions we get all the time, why wasn't all this inter-ISKCON criminal behavior reported to the police / FBI etc. -- by the devotee eye-witnesses, and / or the devotees who knew about these crimes going on right under their noses left, right and center?

And dissenters (like PADA) who at least tried reporting the problems were suppressed, attacked, vilified etc. Is there a pattern here pilgrims? Just asking! Sorry to have to report this but, suppressing people reporting a crisis process does not work, despite it has been tried tens of millions of times. It just allows the crisis to grow larger in the darkness of cover up.

Bad things have to be confronted, or the bad things will get worse. That is the whole idea of the Srimad Bhagavad Gita, we have to oppose evil doers or be implicated in their process, or at the very least appear as weak, ineffective or acquiescing. Thus Krishna's servants should not create the idea that that is the standard of serving Krishna.

Anyway! Once the genie is out of the bottle then fixing the crisis becomes a way worse situation, as it has become here, and in a hundred billion other similar cases. It always amazes us how history keeps repeating, and so many people keep doing the same things over and over and over, and yet -- expecting a different result? Jeepers, then we have the Gaura Govinda / Narayan Maharaja guy complaining to me that "the GBC gurus did their best." Hee hee, well yes, they did their best to cover up the bogus guru virus that was making ISKCON sick, until it was too late to save most of the patients. ys pd]
