[PADA: This is the whole problem since 1977. The GBC says its acharyas are managed by their committee. Then, they cannot "manage" their acharyas, because, acharyas are not managed by a committee?
Then Sivarama comes forward to help, but he is another acharya? How can acharyas contain and control "deviating" acharyas? This is another foolish idea, acharyas are going to contain and control other acharyas -- because they are deviating?
Yep, Hrdayananda is the pied piper and he is going to take people away from ISKCON. Who is left in ISKCON? Anyway, this is a good example of why their "living guru" program fails, once a person thinks he is the guru spokesman for God, he then thinks he no longer needs to be part of, or under the control of, the GBC.
OK the acharya is not under the control of a GBC, fine except -- Hrdayananda is not an acharya. The GBC has to admit this point, or they will continue to have these spin off acharya programs taking men, property and assets continue to be drained off of ISKCON. ys pd]
Acharyas do not fight in public like this. Thus my first question would be, why are other "acharyas" like Bhakti Vikas swami writing books to "defeat" other GBC "acharyas," and Sivarama is making lectures to "defeat" other GBC acharyas, and so on and so forth. There is always some huge public effort to defeat if not remove other GBC acharyas. Where in the history of Gaudiya Vaishnavas do we find "acharyas" making public disagreements over basic issues like this? Is this not the real issue, acharyas do not constantly fight in public like this? ys pd
ReplyDeletePratyatosa Dasa -- Just as Srila Prabhupada predicted, having more than one diksha guru within ISKCON causes factions. Now we have the HDG faction, the GGS faction, the BVKS faction, the BTS faction, the RNS faction, etc.
ReplyDeleteThe main problem as I see it is, in 1936 the Gauidya Matha made "liberal" -- ok illicit sex etc. -- "gurus." In fact, they made some homosexuals and other illicit sex folks into their gurus. Then in 1978, some of these same Gaudiya Matha people became "the shiksha guru advisors" for the GBC, and how did your guess, the same "liberal" guru program was established once again. Srila Prabhupada says a neophyte devotee might be expected to fall down, but when the acharyas are falling down, the society collapses, as happened post-1936 and post-1977. He warned us constantly not to become Gaudiya Matha pt. 2 and have a so-called liberal acharya's program. Hrdayananda is simply the latest installment of this process, which started in 1978 when the GBC and their advisors like Sridhara Maharaja and Narayana maharaja "advised" us to worship the 11 liberal agenda princes as the gurus of ISKCON. You become what you worship, which is how so many deviations then crept into the society, and still are creeping in. ys pd
