A devotee who was initiated prior to 1977 had the audacity to say that Srila Prabhupada was only a siksha guru and not the diksha guru (ACTUALLY THERE ARE MANY LIKE THIS ). It hit me like ton of ... bricks. I remember a story told by Srila Prabhupada in this germane: A rat was troubled by a cat who was giving sleepless nights to the rat. The rat emptied out its grievances to a powerful yogi, and the yogi in turn mutated the rat into dog. But, again the dog was harassed by wild animals. Finally, the yogi turned the rat into a tiger. One day, the tiger made a lunge towards the yogi but the powerful yogi effortlessly turned the tiger into its original form of the rat. Back to square one.
This story takes its cue in the present condition. Srila Prabhupada out of his causeless mercy went to the western world to preach Lord Caitanya mission and veered them away from the hell. Actually, he bestowed the highest mercy of Krsna prema. But, being incorrigible like the rat, they keeping rearing their heads and challenged Srila Prabhupada's philosophy and teaching. How absurd! The oblivious knowledge of soul, Supersoul, The Absolute Truth etc were imparted by Srila Prabhupada who is as good as Srila Vyasadeva, the compiler of the vedas. But after learning few slokas etc the ingratitude disciples questioned Srila Prabhupada's modus operandi of ritvik.
The popular excuses are 1 It is not illustrated in the vedas 2 They accentuate on physical presence 3 Ritvik system is unprecedented and all that jazz. beta baap ko hi padane laga hai.
Amar Puri: Very true, Natrajan Prabhu, as you said, " beta baap ko hi padane laga hai ". That is the result of the so called present Iskcon's Leaders / GBC Gurus self made voted in gurus and their followers do dare to question the Ritivik systems of ... Srila Prabhupada who distributed the Pure Love of God freely and selflessly. What a great loss of the opportunity for those gurus who chose to become as good as Srila Prabhupada and failed miserably not only in this life time but also many many many life times to come. May the blessing of Srila Prabhupada be upon them.
PADA: Right, well when you are geting diksha from persons "engaged in illicit sex with men, women and children (and maybe goats)," don't forget to wear your hazardous bio-protection suit issued by the chemical, biological hazard department of public health, keep on your rubber gloves, don't forget to wear your rubber eye wear goggles, never forget the chemical resistant rubber boots, and lest we forget, make sure you enter the bio-chemical hazard shower booth afterwards.
