Narayana Maharaja camp: running low on funds

[PADA: They are running low on money because their followrs are losing interest, ys pd]

Dandavat Pranamas dear Devotees, Brothers and Sisters,

All Glories to Sri Sri Guru and Gauranga! We pray that you are constantly feeling the mercy of our beloved Srila Gurudeva in your life, in every moment.

We would like to update you on the status of Srila Gurudeva’s book publishing projects. Previously, Srila Gurudeva personally donated all of the costs to print his books, his priceless jewels, as he liked to call them. His pockets were always full, as Laxmi Devi is constantly waiting to serve the pure devotee. During his manifested presence, Srila Gurudeva was the fund manager of Gaudiya Vedanta Publications (GVP). As such, all of the sales from his books went back into his general fund. If you have ever given a donation to Srila Gurudeva, then you have also helped to support GVP.

Now that Srila Gurudeva is not physically present to support the publications of his books, there is an urgency to continue his mission in his apparent absence. In a GVP Board Meeting on March 7, 2011, it was indicated that the GVP is running out of funds, “GVP has insufficient capital to continue with its mission to keep books in print. GVP needs to rebuild and maintain sufficient balances of capital to keep books in print.” (GVP Board Meeting Minutes 3/7/11) At present, GVP will only be able to continue operating for a maximum of 4-6 months before running out of funds.

In response to this issue, a team has been formed to implement fundraising projects to save this mission. Our goal is to ensure that Srila Gurudeva’s books continue to be published for centuries to come. The GVP Board has established two major funds, the GVP General Fund and the GVP Endowment Fund. The GVP General Fund will support GVP Operating expenses, Hari Katha Archive, the GVP Office in India, as well as upcoming new titles. The GVP Endowment Fund will generate funding for each title. In keeping with a mood of transparency and charitable financial standards, GVP will be publishing its projected budgets, financial statements, and the GVP Endowment Fund goals for each book title electronically. We will be sending more information out about the GVP Endowment Fund, and other exciting opportunities in the near future.

Right now we are requesting all devotees interested in supporting Srila Gurudeva’s book publications and Archive to make a donation so the publishing can continue.
