Hiding one's guru? (ISKCON ys pd)

Nandini Radhe
Actually, its recommended that one hide one's guru.

In Hari-bhakti-vilasa, verse 2.147, Srila Sanatan Goswami quotes Sammohana-tantra:

gopayed devatam istam gopayed gurum atmanah
...gopayec ca nijam mantram gopayen nija-malikam

One should hide one's ista-deva, one should hide one's guru, one should hide one's mantra, and one should hide one's japa-mala.

Srila Prabhupada says anyone who hides their guru is a mayavadi and is de facto declaring they are the guru. Lord Chaitanya's servants would not allow anyone to talk to Lord Chaitanya unless they identificed their guru, line and what commen...tary they were using, so you have just admitted you are a myavada, you are de facto declaring yourself a guru, and you would never gain entrance to Lord Chaitanya. Nor have you any interest in saving the conditioned souls, people who hide their mantra were considered a faulty by Lord Chaitanya. So you can hide your guru, and not save anyone, we will glorify our guru and save many. ys pd

  • Tim Lee This is a great preaching program, no guru, no mantra, no temples, no books, no nothing, clearly, this is mayavadi. ys pd
