Dhira Govinda Writes / ISKCON India ICC Writes

Dhira Govinda prabhu, Dear Ravindra Svarupa Prabhu and Badrinarayana Prabhu,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

Devotees are beginning to approach me, in the capacity of my service for the Child Protection Office (CPO), about the situation of Lokanatha Maharaja. I understand why in the past there have been special efforts to not publicize the case (e.g. the psych. report that there is minimal chance of recurrence, the preaching mission, etc.).

But every other case that has come to the attention of this Office has been put on a list of cases to resolve. As I see it, the case is exacerbated by ISKCON continuing to place Lokanatha Maharaja in a high profile position. I'm afraid that this will simply cause devotees who know, or who have heard rumours, about the situation, to become increasingly irritated.

For instance, I've just received a message from a devotee who recently read the Prabhupadanuga Newsletter, which apparently had an article by Lokanatha Maharaja. The devotee knew something about his transgression of a few years back, and this article really aggravated her.

I'm getting similar feedback from various sectors. I think Lokanatha Maharaja is also the ISKCON Minister for Social Development. Devotees are asking, at least implicitly, why has ISKCON chosen as Minister of Social Development someone in the renounced order who made sexual advances to an 11 year old girl?

And further, why is this case not open to the Child Protection Office?

What do you suggest?

Your servant,

Dhira Govinda dasa

=========================

Sanaka Sanatan dasa: Dear Padmapani Prabhu,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

Thank you for writing back so swiftly. I’m very sorry that your province is dealing with wildfires and extreme heat. People here have also been suffering from heat, lack of air conditioning, and lack of water, so I know how difficult it can be. I hope and pray that all the calamities over there resolve soon.

I’m also sorry to hear that your health is less than optimal, and wish you a speedy recovery. For whatever it’s worth, from all your letters, it’s clear that you have love and gratitude for Lokanath Swami. That was never in doubt. You are a senior devotee, Srila Prabhupada’s own disciple, and so it’s very good that you speak and write your realizations, however you see fit.

As for your not being in either of the two groups, of course none of us fits completely into any given box, as we are all unique individuals. Perhaps it can be rephrased as:

“There's basically two groups of devotees that have interacted with this issue. In one group, there's devotees who aren't aware of Maharaja's statements and / or don't believe them. They have largely called for Maharaja to be stripped of sannyasa and to stop initiating (and/or be retried), even though the case was already fully adjudicated twice by the entire GBC body (with Maharaja being punished for years each time), and even though no new allegations or evidence has been presented.

[PADA: The GBC already "voted in" many deviated persons as ISKCON's acharyas, and when later on it was discovered a number of these acharyas were having fall downs -- the GBC often suppressed the complainants and covered the issue up. The fact that the GBC "adjudicates" on any matter now does not mean anyone will trust their conclusion, especially considering they already covered up for all sorts of deviations left, right and center in the past. That includes: the GBC collectively having to be sued for $400,000,000 -- for covering up mass child abuse.

That also includes banning, beating, suing and even murdering some of the people complaining about these issues.

Of course, for the GBC to "administrate ISKCON's gurus and acharyas" is another deviation in itself, because there is no history of acharyas deviating, and then needing to be administrated by a committee etc. This makes the acharya into a mundane man under the control of a mundane committee. And most of the time, their acharyas have to have a giant melt down, a conflagration of crash and burn disasters on their own, and then the GBC tries to come in a pick up the remaining pieces.]

Then there's another group, which includes the professional team of experts
that dealt with the case, along with devotees that are aware of Maharaja's
side of things and have found it to be reasonable and credible. Many of
these devotees are POC (Indian, to be specific), and they largely see
Maharaja's admission of feeling uncomfortable when the back of his hand
momentarily rested on Satya while reading, as him being guilelessly honest,
and not as him having had any bad intent. These devotees are vehemently
against any further punishment and / or retrial.”

[PADA: Many devotees are calling for Lokanath's resignation because they believe the victim and not the Maharaja. In addition, many devotees do not trust "experts" that are recruited by the GBC. In addition, this ISKCON devotee who is an independent expert believes he should step down, as well as a number of other people in ISKCON:

http://krishna1008.blogspot.com/2021/08/letter-from-chaitanya-lila-devi-dasi.html

Based on everything you’ve written, it seems clear you are squarely in the
first group on this particular issue (even if you got there on your own),
and your recent letter certainly seems to confirm this.

In terms of your line of reasoning, you write:

“Regardless of whether what occurred was inadvertent or intentional, a
mother and her daughter were thrown into extreme inner turmoil over this
incident.”

It’s incredibly problematic for someone advocating to strip Lokanath Swami
of sannyasa etc., to write “regardless of whether what occurred was
inadvertent or intentional,” because establishing whether or not there was
bad intent (known as ‘mens rea’), is crucial to judging whether or not an
offense has occurred, and thus whether punishment is warranted. It’s also
worth noting that you deciding that a mother and daughter were in “extreme
inner turmoil,” isn’t a legitimate criterion for determining Lokanath
Swami’s intent.

[PADA: The intent is clear because -- he was systematically abusing a child over a period of time. There was not only "one single incident" or a "one time lapse," there was an ongoing and repeated inappropriate touching over time. And the mother and daughter are not "in distress" over a "one time lapse" mistake, they are upset that this abuse was a consciously premeditated activity over a period of time. Abuse over a period of time does point to the intent. And we all know what that intent was and is.]

You also argue that a number of people, especially mothers, have expressed
being distressed and upset by Lokanath Swami’s case, and for you that’s
enough to determine that he should be stripped of sannyasa etc. You wrote:

“In addition to Satya and her mother, we now have mothers all over the
world feeling great stress and anxiety over this issue too. Is that right?
So you can argue the details of this or that until the cows come home, but
are you looking at the big picture? Mothers around the world are unhappy
with that decision. Are you listening, or do you even care? Well, I care.”

Yes, we all care prabhu.

[PADA: Hee hee, yep just like the GBC "cares" when they reinstated Bhavananda, after knowing he was having sex with taxi drivers in the dham. "Cares" when they made Radhanath a guru, despite some ex-children saying -- just seeing him gives them PTSD. "Cares" like they did when the children were being starved, beaten and abused in the gurukulas. Etc!]

And the details and facts of the case are important too.

Your dichotomization of facts and feelings, your giving stress to feelings
over facts (because collective feelings are the “big picture” for you), and
then your recommending punishments on this basis, is a fatal flaw in your
presentation.

[PADA: The fact is that acharyas do not deviate, and then have to be suspended and so forth. The whole foundation is false.]

It’s also noteworthy that there are thousands and thousands of mothers that don’t think the punishments you recommend are just, and they are in total agony over it (these mothers are many times more, numerically speaking, than the ones you represent). Their pain isn’t considered at all in your letter, perhaps because you aren’t personally interacting with them. Regardless, in light of this reality, your statement about caring for mothers becomes hypocritical, as you are being selectively empathetic to just one group of them.

[PADA: Right, well thousands of people were crying when Jayatirtha fell down, then Bhagavan, Hansadutta, Satsvarupa, Kirtanananda, Ramesvara, Vipramukhya, Prabhavishnu et al. left a trail of tears and so forth. Maybe you guys should not be rubber stamping conditioned souls as acharyas, and the suffering would end?]

Another major problem with your presentation is that it’s totally wrong for
someone to be swayed by public opinion at all (on either side), when
considering whether or not to re-punish and / or retry someone that’s already
been twice tried and punished, for years each time.

[PADA: Trials in a kangaroo GBC court do not count. The GBC adjudicated that I was wrong to protest Jayatirtha, no -- they were wrong to defend Jayatirtha. Everyone knows that by now?]

That’s because the promise of any system of justice involving punishment must be closure in the form of that punishment, for both the victim and accused (even if it doesn’t ultimately satisfy a given person or party). Without such closure, then anyone can call for a retrial (or more / less punishment), simply on the basis that they aren’t personally or collectively satisfied.

[PADA: There never was a proper investigation.]

And considering and “arguing the details of this or that,” isn’t wrong (as you indicated in your statement above). Rather, it’s exactly what fair people do when adjudicating a situation like this. These are some of the reasons that Lady Justice is often depicted with a blindfold (as she’s not swayed by the court of public opinion, nor by the emotion of the victim and / or accused, sans evidence).

[PADA: There is plenty of evidence Satya and her family tried to get the GBC to give them justice, and they did not get any.]

For example, you quote Satya’s mother, and describe that what she said “broke my heart and upset me the most.” That’s totally understandable. However, the mother wasn’t there for the incidents in question, and so her reporting having been upset and / or losing respect for Maharaja doesn’t (by itself), tell us what actually happened, nor does it tell us what Maharaja’s mindset was, nor does it tell us what should be done about it.

It’s also noteworthy that Satya herself describes her mother’s reaction
totally differently in that very same interview:

“Yes, she (my mother), had told my older sister, who hadn’t really thought
anything of it. But my mom didn’t think anything of it but she just told my
sister.”

It’s worth noting that we detail all these varying accounts in our analysis (that you haven’t responded to). I don’t know if you read it carefully, or if you even have the bandwidth to do so, considering your current health state. If you don’t have the ability though, to carefully read all the details of this case, then you aren’t in a position to fairly weigh the evidence and intelligently recommend what should be done. This is perhaps one reason why (in the past), kings would retire from ruling towards the end of their life (which is how you described your current situation).

[PADA: Satya has made the details of her case very clear with her own statements, and the GBC has given her the off - putting cold shoulder the whole time.]

Please remember that His Divine Grace recommended retiring to Vrindavan towards the end of one’s life, and please know that you are most welcome here, and that we are ready to serve and facilitate you if / when you are
able to come prabhuji. Also, we are personally living in the Vrindavan Goshalla (just next the cows), and one of our primary services is taking care of Krsna’s cows, so when you mentioned “until the cows come home,” for us that is twice daily.

[PADA: Nice, Vrndavana is where the ISKCON India folks are burying sex with cats (?) pedophiles and / or porno swamis in samadhis. Sign me up! The ICC has no idea who belongs in the post of guru, and who belongs in a samadhi. My Brijabasi friends are totally shocked and appalled at the bogus GBC orchestrated samadhis there.]

There’s an overarching problem with your whole presentation as well, and it
pervades everything you’ve written. It is your bias. You mention “I hear their cries and I can't ignore them.” I understand prabhu. You clearly feel obliged to, and inspired to, champion the women/mothers that have reached out to you for shelter (you even mention that you consider it to be Krsna’s indication that you should get involved, despite your advanced age).

The problem is that you feel moved by one group of women / mothers, and consequently you have a desire to represent that select group. However noble that desire may be, it disqualifies you from being able to fairly and dispassionately weigh all the evidence and testimony. Your inability to engage with the evidence is clearly shown, even in your most recent letter, when you neglected to respond to Lokanath Swami’s version of events (after it was detailed publicly, for the first time). You chose to just dismiss it as irrelevant, in comparison to the feelings (you perceived), in those you’ve chosen to champion. You wrote:

“Regardless of whether what occurred was inadvertent or intentional, a mother and her daughter were thrown into extreme inner turmoil over this incident.”

In this vein, you also wrote that after reading Satya’s testimony “it was clear to me that some tomfoolery was involved.” Hearing just one side of the story and then reaching a conclusion, isn’t how to fairly determine what happened, and it isn’t how to fairly determine what should be done in response. Also, referring to what Satya reported as “tomfoolery,” seems quite casual, and thus inappropriate and disrespectful.

As for the statement that your previous quotations from Srila Prabhupada were generic, that doesn’t minimize Srila Prabhupada’s statements at all, or invite peril. It just acknowledges that Prabhupada made both generic and specific statements, with Prabhupada’s generic statements requiring one to then consider how to best apply them to a specific circumstance.

It was really just a respectful way of saying that your previous quotations of Srila Prabhupada weren’t at all definitive, regarding this particular situation. The quotes you presented were about a wide variety of topics: Vaisnava children, being a perfect gentleman, compassion, the GBC, and having spotless character (which doesn’t necessarily mean never having made a mistake). They weren’t directly about the situation under discussion.

Your recent quotes in this last response were more to the point, but even
then you had to acknowledge:

“Yes, I know that this case is not the same as a regular fall-down.”

So seriously arguing for how to apply His Divine Grace’s instructions requires looking at his statements on a specific topic (and related topics), and also looking at how Srila Prabhupada actually dealt with similar situations during his pastimes. After this, one needs to harmonize Prabhupada’s varying instructions and examples (if variety exists), and finally try to best apply Prabhupada’s example and precept to the unique circumstance being considered (after having understood said circumstance).

We need to understand the circumstance we’re considering, and then see what
Srila Prabhupada said and did in similar situations. We should avoid just
finding some quotes and then trying to force the circumstance to match them.

Your servant,

Sanaka Sanatana Das

[PADA: Finding Srila Prabhupada's quotes is easy, he says false guru rot in hell, and that means the entire GBC's illicit sex with men, women and children (and cats?) guru program is headed there. Any questions? ys pd]

Letter from Chaitanya Lila devi dasi

Dear leaders of ISKCON,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

I write this out of concern for the future of Srila Prabhupda’s movement and from an unbiased standpoint regarding all involved parties in the matter of Lokanath Swami. My intention in writing this, is to be of service and I come with no hate towards any parties.

I would like to mention my background. I was born into Krsna Consciousness and my guru maharaja is HH Sivarama Swami. For the past 12 years I have worked as a psychotherapist & hypnotherapist. Over the years I have specialised in trauma, adolescent mental health and past life regression. I am also the head and clinical lead of a U.K university’s mental health and psychological service for students. So I come from both a Krsna Conscious and psychological perspective.

The recent CPO issue regarding Lokanath Swami and the leaked ICC meeting has concerned me greatly. I am raising the following points for the current leaders of our movement to consider. Perhaps none of what I say is new to you all, however I wanted to share some of my perspectives incase they can provide insight from an angle of a professional that works in the area of safeguarding and mental health, as well as a devotee on the ground level in the community.

Please forgive me for the length of this letter! I know you all are busy individuals but I please ask you to read this so my efforts could potentially be somewhat fruitful.

Honesty and Self-Correction.

The story of Bilvamangal thakura shows that one can be considered a saint after immoral behaviour, but only after true self-reflection and self-correction. Bilvamangal thakura, after recognising he transgressed dharma and became involved with a prostitute, gauged out his own eyes and then engaged in his own bhajan.

Placing himself at a materially disadvantaged position not only showed his humble willingness to take full responsibility of his actions, but it also showed that perfecting one’s devotional life and engaging in Krsna’s service is beyond one’s material or external position. It was this direct and honest response to his misgivings that actually made him a reputable saint, not any external position.

[PADA: Yep, big difference between "gouging out one's own eyes" and "being suspended from initiating for 2 years." There seems to be nothing more than a slap on the wrist for all sorts of deviations going on in the ISKCON society.

Unless of course -- you are objecting to their molester messiah's program. Sulochan said they are a "butt buggery messiah's program" and so -- he had to face severe punishment, indeed he was assassinated. So, a minor slap on the wrist if you are a make pretend messiah, and severe reaction if you criticize the false messiahs.]

The whole community must be honest here and hold up the facts that are true. That Lokanath Swami abused an 11 year old girl and that abuse greatly impacted her. This action on his part was of a paedophilic nature, it was a crime and it was an offence.

[PADA: Yes, it is a crime, it is pedophilia, it is an offense, and therefore -- it cannot be upheld without making ISKCON look compromised with pedophiles in general, and pedophiles even in the guru parampara from Krishna. Of course this has been an image that ISKCON has been steadily creating all along with their illicit sex with men, women and children guru process since 1978.]

My concern is how the matter was dealt with and how such matters continue to be dealt with. From statements by Lokanath Swami and members of the ICC, it seems they are minimising the gravity of the act. There has been deceit and cover up, such as not giving the true reason why he had to delay initiations in the 1990’s to disciples, disciples not knowing of the abuse or the facts of the incident being twisted or minimised. This deception is not vaisnava behaviour.

[PADA: Right, they are saying we cannot admit to this crime now because it will discourage the disciples, but that means the disciples were never informed of the problem in the first place, so they were cheated and deceived. We cannot have cheating and deceit allowed, what to speak of -- at the guru parampara level.]

Unfortunately what we have seen throughout ISKCON is the opposite of honesty and self-correction. It should not be that, “because I am in the position of a saint, what I do should be excused”. That “I will do my few years of exile and take my position again”.

Or “because I was given the position of a Guru by Srila Prabhupada I have the right to keep the position forever regardless of what I do”. It appears that child abuse amongst leaders is permissible because "the leadership" is more important. However how can a true leader be an abuser? It seems attachment to the external position takes precedence over dharma.

[PADA: External show bottle of false messiahs, what we said all along. More people are catching on, and more and more will as time goes forward. Srila Prabhupada: "You can cheat, but it won't be effective."]

An honest person with integrity, would self-reflect after such a great offences and would themselves see that being a Guru and committing such crimes and immoral acts are incongruent to one another. If one truly wanted to perfect their Krisna Consciousness, one would recognise that the external service and position is not necessary, especially when one becomes disqualified for such role due to their actions and choices. They themselves would step down from the high position, knowing that their behaviour is less than exemplary because as we know - what great men do - common men follow.

[PADA: Good point. If we worship pedophiles, then we will attract pedophiles. Ooops, which is what happened in ISKCON, "you become what you worship."]

Further to my point, we understand that a brahmin is a brahmin by quality, not by birth. This should be the same with the any leadership and Guru position in ISKCON too. I believe that now is a serious call for the standards of Guruship and leadership to be tightened and addressed. With how rapidly information is shared on the internet now, nothing can be hidden for long. It’s time to make the right corrective decisions. A guru can not be an abuser and an abuser can not be a guru.

[PADA: But why are conditioned souls being voted in as gurus in the first place? And then their false gurus are -- suspended, censured, removed etc. That is not what happens with gurus.]

Pedophilia

In my 12 years of work as a psychotherapist, I have met and worked with a range of individuals - both perpetrators and victims of abuse. I can say that no one is all bad, even on the level of their material conditioning and therefore rest assured I have no personal hate towards Lokanath Swami or any other person who has also committed a crime. I do think however the issue of abuse is not understood.

Pedophilia is a sexual perversion, outside the bounds of normal and healthy sex life. No one who does not have an abnormal attraction towards pre-pubescent children would touch the genitals of a child. Such an act will not happen, not even once with someone who does not have this abnormal sexual perversion. Therefore, sexually abusing a child is not a so-called “accidental fall down”, or a "mis-hap", in the way we see with a Guru being attracted to women. It indicates an abnormal sexual perversion and to act on it is harmful.

Psychologically speaking, some pedophiles can lose their attraction to children in time, some pedophiles are attracted to children but do not act on their attraction, but some pedophiles are attracted to children and act on their attraction. The later are the most dangerous and harmful.

The society outside of ISKCON take pedophilia extremely seriously. Last year at my work place a manager of a department was found to have indecent images of children on his personal laptop and was contacting under-aged girls online. He was fired from his job immediately. This was the stance that the organisation I work for took with distant and online grooming, what to speak of physical touch?

[PADA: Correct, even the karmi society removes people who are deviating from posts of authority, whereas in ISKCON we cannot even get a deviating person removed from the post of guru, the highest post in the universe. Rocana's idiot plan to tighten the guru control and regulating committee is foolish, there should be no need to correct the guru with a committee.]

I cannot say if Lokanath Swami is or isn’t a saint at heart and I also can not say if he currently has paedophilic tendencies or is a current abuser. More assessments should have been down over the years to ensure he was safe to be in society and to ensure children are safe. This goes for all other leaders / Guru’s who have abused, regardless if you had kept them as a Guru or not.

I also want to state that I believe there was a flaw in the mental health assessment recorded in 1990’s with the Lokanath Swami case. The professional stated he was not a pedophile, but that he should also stay away from children.

[PADA: Yes, the ICC says we should listen to their expert, and their expert says he needs to stay away from children. That is a sign they know he has pedophile tendencies.]

These two outcomes are completely contradictory and makes no sense. If he was not a pedophile; a. why would he touch an 11 year old girl? Only pedophiles would do this. and b. why should he still stay away from children? By the results of the report, in my opinion, it should have been re-done with another professional, specialising in pedophilia.

Guruship and Abuse

The pertinent question is, should a Guru who abused a child in any way remain as a Guru? The question underlying this is, does a Guru who abused a child really meet the qualifications of a Guru?

A vaisnava is meant to demonstrate qualities such as truthfulness and non-violence. What to speak of a vaisnava in leadership? If a Guru is not meant to even touch an adult woman or even the form of a woman as a doll, then what can be said about a Guru who sought out an innocent 11 year old girl, who by default of her age, did not have the capacity to give consent and touch her genitals for self gratification? By just seeing these facts alone, would disqualify them from being a Guru.

I believe a self-corrective action of stepping down, like Bilvamangal thakura, should have been taken in 1993 when the case was brought about.

The problem now is that many disciples do not want to accept the facts due to the length of time that has passed and some disciples and devotees are now trying to understand the lies, mis-handling, deceit and cover up that occurred after. I have had some disciples of Lokanath Swami approach me for psychological help regarding this as they were not informed of his predatory actions.

They are very disturbed and feel cheated. I have been doing my best to encourage their individual Krsna Conscious practice, but I cannot answer to the GBC’s unfortunate decision making, the lack of insight and the minimisation by Lokanath Swami himself of his crime.

[PADA: Even Lokanath's disciples need psychological counselling, because they are victims of psychological abuse.]

I hope that in the future, there is a standard of being a Guru and that acts of child abuse are disqualifiers, no matter how long they have been in their role of service. I also hope that if someone must step down from their position, there is a clear message and understanding that one’s Krishna Consciousness is never compromised or destroyed, if anything, it is an opportunity to go deeper, just like Bilvamangala thakura and many other examples of great devotees.

I believe a clear, direct public message would help the community at large see the stance the leaders take on the matters of child abuse.

Victims of Abuse in the Society

I want to greatly emphasis here that victims of sexual abuse have to bear the burden of their trauma for the rest of their lives. The dismissal of sexual abuse and the minimisation of it as a “mishap” that occurred 30 years ago, or a “falldown”, not only is insulting to victims but incredibly un-insightful. It really shows the lack of knowledge and awareness of the severity of sexual abuse and mental health.

[PADA: Yes, we know victims who committed suicide, victims who wanted to commit suicide, and victims who still think of suicide even 40 years after the incident. Child abuse has very long lasting results, and so does keeping child molesters in the post of guru. ISKCON will suffer those results for decades if not generations.]

When a child is treated like they are an object to be used for an adult’s gratification, it changes who they feel and perceive themselves to be on an identity level. When we interact with a child, we subtly write on the slate of the child’s mind. We are responsible for creating their samskaras.

Through abuse, in which the child is used like an object, such a degraded self-perception created, becomes the broken foundation to the rest of their life. Many then enter into destructive adult relationships, usually with people who are abusive, because that is what they have been primed to function with.

They struggle to be financially stable and they struggle with addictions that temporarily remedy the painful memories. When the abuse occurs in a spiritual movement, it completely breaks their faith in Krsna. What could be more damaging than all of this?

[PADA: That is why some victims have told me -- these false gurus are killers of the soul. And some of the ex-victims here eat hamburgers and they hate ISKCON and they think Krishna is a false God. So their faith in Krishna has been totally devastated, and will never recover. Do the leaders not care? Or are they infiltered rakshasas, who want to destroy children, and destroy ISKCON thereby on purpose -- as some suggest?]

Furthermore, it is currently occurring - now. The impact of child abuse is not something that "just' happened 30 years ago or in the past. An abusive act causes an infinite ripple effect and those ripples are still creating a disturbance to victim’s wellbeing and their families.

When victims see their abusers being glorified, honoured as great vaisnavas or leaders, without the correct justice served, without genuine apology and without honest responsibility taken, this is like rubbing salt on an open wound. It triggers their past pain and they are then being abused again by the dismissal of truth and the favouritism of “big devotees” in leadership over “small devotees” with no power. It further dis-empowers them.

[PADA: One victim saw his victimizer being offered great respect in ISKCON Los Angeles, and he went home and hanged himself. Of course Los Angeles ISKCON is the head quarters of the illicit sex with men, women and children, and maybe cats, messiah's project.

As soon as many ISKCON Los Angeles devotees see the founder fathers of their anal reconstructive surgery epidemic of children messiahs step out of their luxury cars, they fall on the ground and fall at the feet of their favorite anal rupturing epidemic messiah's project's leaders.

I saw this myself when I was living there. Then people wonder why victims are committing suicide? Then again we have guys like Badrinarayan swami, who now claims to be de facto another Jesus who can take your sins, because he has been one of the biggest exponents of this illicit sex messiah's project, which causes children to later on spontaneous suicide themselves to get away from him and his process.

Victims cannot stand even being on the same planet with these cretins, and who could blame them? Get me out of here Lord! And this is what we want to have as the standards for a spiritual society called ISKCON? People will see their abusers being worshiped as good as God, and then spontaneously -- kill themselves. That is the society we want for our children, or any children anywhere?]

I implore the members of the GBC and ICC to please take this seriously. We can no longer have a less than zero tolerance to child abuse and devotees in the community need to be valued just as much as leaders. Krsna doesn’t see if one is a “big devotee” or “small devotee”. Krsna see’s the devotion of heart.

I see hypocrisy in the focus of attention on preaching and making new devotees, when once they are “in”, they are at risk of being abused and dismissed without protection. No intelligent person will sign up to this type of society and many have already left. ISKCON may therefore run the risk of not being a community of intellectual spiritualists, but sentimental blind followers. I have seen this happen on a local level. This is not what Srila Prabhupada would have wanted.

For the victims to be properly respected, for GBC members to protect themselves from making errors in judgments and for the CPO professionals to be able to do their job, I ask that all child safeguarding issues be dealt with by the CPO. This is the professional and right thing to do. We all need to know our limits of practice and stay within our lane. Until this is done, I will be advising members of ISKCON who come to me, to go straight to local authorities if there are concerns of any abuse, as the society is not yet prepared or equipped in managing such issues.

Concerns from the Leaked ICC Meeting Video.

There were many concerns I have from the leaked ICC meeting, but I have listed the the most important ones and have given my reasons along side them.

1. The emphasis on Srila Prabhupada’s comment about Lokanath Swami being like Thurka Rama and this as an excuse to therefore dismiss and ignore the severity of his act of child abuse. This is unfortunately the classic use of scriptural statements or “Srila Prabhupada said” to justify a transgression.

2. There was downplaying of the molestation because it was “over the cloth”. According to US law, his act was criminal and could have landed Lokanath Swami in jail. Also, over the cloth or under the cloth, does not mean it was any less harmful to the victim, nor does it mean it was not sexual abuse. He held his hand to her genitals and rubbed her thighs. I ask the leaders to change their perspective for a moment and imagine someone doing that to them. Would they be ok with it?

3. Emphasising that this occurred 30 years ago and therefore implying that it should not matter or be forgotten. I agree that too long of a time has passed, however if an act has occurred and the correct sanction has not been administered then justice naturally is still due. There currently is a case of child abuse in the UK from the 1970’s that is being re-investigated. Six men were imprisoned 20 years after the incidents, so no amount of time that passes matters.

[PADA: That is why one ex-victim told me "this is the Jimmy Savile guru parampara." Same things happened there, many victims were told to not bother because "this happened a long time ago." So what?]

I also am concerned by this illogic given that our philosophy explains in detail the law of karma. No one will be able to argue the number of life times that has passed from our previous sinful actions when we are kneeling, alone, in front of Yamaraja. No one.

4. The mentioning of the need to protect “our Indian sannyasi” and the mentioning of the philosophy “coming from India”. I was surprised and disappointed to hear this nationalistic view from leaders of ISKCON.

[PADA: Well hee hee, it is odd that us Western devotees know that Krishna and His acharyas are not a chain of "illicit sex with men, women and children, and maybe cats" while some self-advertised "scholar" people from India write me all sorts of insulting comments because I think Krishna and His acharyas are pure, and thus pure devotees, and not debauchees.]

I refer to the Bhagavad Gita where Krsna states that we are not this body and we are spirit soul to convey the obvious and basic understanding we would expect all leaders to have.

I also refer to Srila Prabhupada’s statements where he says “"I am not an Indian, I'm not an American, I'm not brāhmaṇa, I'm not kṣatriya"—means "I am not this body"—then the consciousness will be ahaṁ brahmāsmi. Brahmā-bhūtaḥ prasannātmā na śocati na kāṅkṣati (BG 18.54). This is wanted. This is success of life. Otherwise, if we remain in darkness of our existence...” lecture on Oct 9th 1976.

I understand that people may become passionate and they’re attached to Lokanath Swami, whom on other accounts may be gentle and loving. However, I greatly hope that this philosophical error is corrected. Taking a sentimental and nationalistic approach will only cause segregation, polarisation, racism and destruction of the movement that Prabhupada wanted unity and purity in.

5. The potential decision indicated in the meeting, to throw out their connection with ICPO and GBC all together is very concerning.

Disconnecting from ICPO is extremely worrying for a few reasons:

1. Due to the high cases of child abuse and trafficking that occurs across India at large.

2. Due to the fact that Vrindavan’s gurukula is moving to a more isolated location, increasing the risk of hidden abuse.

3. Due to the fact that ISKCON’s history of abuse has found by the CPO to be the worse in India.

4. Due to the very perception held, that ICPO is a hindrance. Seeing ICPO as a hindrance rather than a protective function shows huge lack of understanding of child protection. Perhaps these members could be reminded of these above points and the fact that the protection of women and children is a part of our Krsna Conscious practice and philosophy?

The ICC disconnecting from the GBC is a concern mainly due to my view that Srila Prabhupada would not want a fractured leadership. He emphasised unity. I think this would hurt Srila Prabhupada more than it would protect Lokanath Swami.

I am hoping that the fractured issues are resolved, that child abuse is put as a priority, being dealt with by CPO and that the right dharmic decisions are made here onwards.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my lengthy email.

I would also be happy to provide any educational seminars to the leadership on areas of mental health, trauma and the impact of abuse, should you find it necessary or helpful. My intentions here are to be of service and I hope this meets with you well.

ISKCON India ICC: Child Molesting Cover Up Begins

[PADA: It looks like the ISKCON INDIA ICC board is now trying to cancel Satya's complaint by saying essentially, well Maharaja was just reading a book to her, what is the big deal? Then they say they had their own "experts" review the situation at the time, and no serious problem was found.

Except the parents of Satya wanted to go to the police, and they were assured that the GBC would handle it instead. OK that means the independent experts from the police side were never consulted, and still are not.

Of course, even when a mass murderer goes on trial -- his lawyer might hire a bunch of "experts" to downplay the crimes, shuffle facts around to bewilder the victims, bring in bogus "witnesses" who were not even there, and generally create a lot of doubt about his client's guilt. The "experts" brought in to defend the crooks are not considered as independent and unbiased, as a general rule.

And that is why we should maybe be looking at laws that apply to clergy and "experts" who are supposed to report crimes, but don't. And did we forget to mention, the ICC is blocking the current ICPO ISKCON investigation from taking place now? In sum, it looks like the cover up is just getting started, after these guys covered up for umpteen other bogus messiahs when they were caught failing. ys pd]

Dear Devotees.

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

Excuse me if I do not know who Padmapani Prabhu is, he joined ISKCON
long before me and I do not know exactly when he left. Definitely, there are many older devotees who have left ISKCON but still have concern for Prabhupada's Mission.

Unfortunately when I read what he has to say I wonder if he really has
scrutinised the actual events? He seems to conclude that Lokanath Swami has molested Satya and although he does give suggestions how to deal with these issues and where the GBC could be more attentive, he does not clearly say what he wants to say!

I do agree with him in that when someone is molested it stays with that person for their whole life, it is not something you forget.

Myself having experienced this at the age of 16, though not actually molested but the attempt was there and I still remember it well, as it was a forceful attempt.

But when I read the testimonies in regard to Lokanath Swami -- I don't mean the exaggerated testimonies from the internet, but the testimonies from Satya from 1993 and 2010 -- it is hardly as Padmapani Prabhu portrays it.

Therein, where exactly does Satya say she was "molested"?

My contention with the emotional way he writes is that he makes this the fault of the GBC, is just wrong, because the GBC did a lot of things right, considering the circumstances. Is he even aware of what steps the GBC took back then?

And between the lines he gives the impression that Lokanath Swami is a predator, without actually saying it. All this just to sound intelligent.

But what about all the other extenuating circumstances? Does he know, does he even consider:

1. It was over 30 years ago.

2. The GBC body had dealt with this twice in 1993 and 2010

3. The GBC disciplined Lokanath Swami, which he followed (to the major part).

4. In 2017 again the GBC gave a green signal to initiate.

5. There is no report of any repeat offense in all of these years.

Most importantly the GBC did authorise him to initiate and there are now 5000 disciples around the world. These disciples have taken initiation on the authorisation of the GBC.

Padmapani Prabhu has not considered their situation.

Having also had a guru that had fallen down, and being in the middle of the reinitiation issue, I once asked a GBC member: "as this debate about the future of the disciples is going on and there is confusion, in the meantime our spiritual lives are in the middle. How does the GBC consider us". His answer was "it's just tough luck".

Is this the proper mood that a leader in ISKCON should give?.

These disciples of Lokanath Swami have given their lives, surrendered to the GBC, and are actively serving ISKCON. In many places they are senior leaders, so their spiritual lives must be considered first and foremost.

To conclude, our dear Padmapani Prabhu is way out of touch with reality and
just spouting off some nice sounding advice, but is he really qualified to
advise the GBC?

It is my humble request that you to see the exceptional circumstances in this case, consider the lives of all those devotees that took initiation due to faith in the GBC, consider that the incident was thirty years ago and consider that the actual facts are not what is being portrayed on social media by the detractors of Lokanath Swami.

It is said: don't believe everything you read in the paper, don't believe half of what you see on the TV, and don't believe anything you hear on social media. This is exactly what Padmapani Prabhu has done: he's mimicking what he read from those who are campaigning against Lokanath Swami.

I would not normally write to such a senior body but as Padmapani Prabhu felt the need to write, I felt the need to respond.

====================

Dear Devotees,

Please accept our humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

I appreciate Padmapani Prabhu sharing his thoughts. On behalf of the Indian Yatra, I'd like to start by noting that, according to Satya’s own testimony,
the potentially problematic contact with an intimate part of her body was
the back of a hand, resting motionless, holding a book that was being read
at the time.

This testimony supports two potential narratives. The first is that Lokanath Swami placed the back of his hand on Satya with bad intent. The second is that the back of his hand rested on her without ill intent, to hold the book while reading.

There is, of course, no way for anyone to determine what Lokanath swami's mindset was, other than to ask him. This is because Maharaja's reported
actions aren't themselves enough to establish bad intent, as the level of contact doesn't make it clear (i.e., the back of a hand, resting motionless, while holding a book that was being read). Again, these details are coming directly from Satya's own testimony (please see our attached analysis of said testimony for a full treatment of this topic).

It's important to note that Lokanath Swami himself has always maintained that the back of his hand rested on Satya for a matter of seconds (according to him it was a couple of seconds, and couldn't have been more than five seconds). More importantly, Maharaja has stated that the contact was not made with any bad intent, but that it happened naturally during the course of reading when the book became heavy and his arm dropped down to rest, while still reading.

Maharaja mentioned having rested the book on Satya's knees a couple of times
when the book became heavy, and that one time the book (and back of his hand), came down and rested somewhat higher up on her leg (but not on her crotch). He reported instantly feeling extremely uncomfortable, and that his mind became quite disturbed, and he immediately lifted his arm up.

Maharaja's testimony, in this regard, disturbed some ISKCON devotees that were looking into the case (some of whom even had some professional training), because they felt it didn't have Maharaja admitting to doing something wrong in a simple, straightforward, and comprehensive way, nor did they feel Maharaja expressed sufficient contrition.

These devotees purposefully suppressed Maharaja's side of the story, and some of them even went so far as to write apology letters on Maharaja's behalf, saying what they thought was appropriate, and then publicizing these letters in Maharaja's name, despite his protests.

It's noteworthy that Maharaja's testimony was considered to be credible by the top-notch professional team that ISKCON hired to investigate the matter. That team of professionals, specializing in child-abuse and clergy, reached a determination that Lokanath Swami was not a pedophile and that he hadn't
acted in a predatory fashion. It's noteworhty that these professionals had
expertise in child abuse far exceeding that of any CPO that's ever operated
within ISKCON, to date (and we've detailed this in a previous letter, also
attached).

Please also note that any questionable touch could have reasonably occurred while reading, without any criminal intent. Therefore, what was reported by Satya doesn't rise to the level of criminal activity in the state of New Jersey, or anywhere else.

There's basically two groups of devotees that have interacted with this issue. In one group, there's devotees who aren't aware of Maharaja's statements and / or don't care what he said. Padmapani Prabhu would fall into this group. They have largely called for Maharaja to be stripped of all positions and / or retried, even though no new allegations or evidence has been presented. They also don't consider it to be relevant that the case was already fully adjudicated twice by the entire GBC body, with Maharaja being punished for years each time.

Then there's another group, which includes the professional team of experts that dealt with the case, along with devotees that are aware of Maharaja's side of things and have found it to be reasonable and credible. Many of these devotees are POC (Indian, to be specific), and they largely see Maharaja's admission of feeling uncomfortable when the back of his hand rested on Satya while reading, as him being guilelessly honest, and not as him having had any bad intent.

In the eyes of the law, what happened was most unfortunate, but not a crime.
Similarly, in the eyes of the Indian Yatra, where Maharaja primarily serves, this is all most unfortunate, and we feel very badly for Satya and her family and well wishers.

That said, we (170+ Indian leaders voting unanimously), don't think that what happened qualifies as a fall down warranting Lokanath Swami to be stripped of sannyasa, nor do we find Padmapani Prabhu's generic quotations from His Divine Grace to be relevant to this case, nor do we think that Srila Prabhupada would approve of punishing Lokanath Swami any further, especially not when considering Maharaja's more than 50 years of spotless service (20+ years prior, and 30+ years since).

Thanks for considering all of this.

[PADA: Wowsers! The illicit sex with men, women and children and maybe cats guru parampara leaders have spoken. I have full confidence in that group, hee hee. ys pd]

Dear Bhakti Chaitanya Maharaja and other Vaisnavas,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada

The case of Lokanath Maharaja was exhaustively adjudicated and decided on decades ago, by the entire GBC and the professional group they hired and consulted (CAP Behavioral Associates). Please note that this group had professional credentials that far exceed those of any CPO that has ever operated within ISKCON, to date.

Because of this, it’s our committee’s conclusion that the equivalent of a full CPO case (and considering the credentials of CAP Associates, something even more rigorous), has already been undergone, and thus this case has already been definitively investigated and concluded. It is thus inappropriate to start the process all over again with the ICPO, or even with another GBC-sponsored committee (as Bhakti Caitanya Maharaja recommended in our meeting yesterday).

In that meeting, Bhakti Chaitanya Maharaja challenged this position, by questioning the bona fides of CAP Associates, saying that this group had been convicted of financial fraud by the US government. Maharaja used this as evidence for re-opening the case for investigation, but after looking into this we’ve been unable to find that CAP Associates was, in fact, convicted of fraud. Here is the only article we were able to find on the case:

https://ag.ny.gov/press-release/2001/operator-counseling-program-charged-medicaid-fraud

The article states that Kevin Cullen, the owner of CAP Associates, was charged with fraudulently billing the state of New York for counseling services. The article also states clearly that these charges are only accusations, and that the defendant should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Now, Mr. Cullen being accused of financial crimes (or even convicted of them), years after his group concluded their investigation of Lokanath Maharaja’s case, doesn’t in any way invalidate the conclusions CAP Associates reached. For example, if a surgeon that owns a medical clinic is accused of cheating on his taxes (or accused of committing financial fraud, or even convicted of it), that doesn’t then medically invalidate the efficacy of surgeries performed by said clinic. Or just because Bhakti Chaitanya Maharaja himself was found guilty of financial crimes at some point by the GBC, that doesn’t invalidate all the service he and his disciples previously did within ISKCON.

Please also note that there were several other professionals that worked on Lokanath Maharaja’s assessment, such as:

Christina Casals-Ariet, M.D., J.D.
Vera Beato-Smith, Ph.D.

All these professionals appear to have been highly respected in their field (based on searching their names), and by reaching their conclusions about Lokanath Maharaja not being a pedophile or predator, CAP Associates risked incurring liability if he were ever to re-offend; and in spite of this potential, they still saw fit to vouch for Maharaja’s character after thoroughly assessing him.

And any procedural errors in the first investigation would’ve been the fault of the NA GBCs that were in charge of the case, and it’s unfair to now hold Lokanath Maharaj responsible for any mistakes they may have made.

Finally, above and beyond all this, the full GBC body has already voted on this issue twice, and without new evidence coming to light, there is nothing that justifies subjecting Lokanath Maharaja, his disciples and well-wishers, and the Indian Yatra, to yet another investigation with potential further punishment. The promise of any judiciary process is closure for both the victim and defendant, and given that a decision was already reached by the highest appellate authority in ISKCON (the entire GBC body), then without any new allegations there’s nothing to justify re-opening the case.

Are Women Mothers or Prabhus? (GBC Debate)

----- Forwarded Message ----------

Subject: Re: ICC Sub-committee Reply

------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Maharaja, please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and your service to him. We have been asked to forward you a few comments on your June 3 letter (copied below at the end of this correspondence).

Regarding the June 3rd letter and our complaint about Malati et. al. calling women "Prabhu", we stand by our resolution, as cited by you in your June 3rd letter:

-- A little further regarding Malati devi dasi’s use of the term “prabhu” when addressing ladies. The ICC has passed their resolution which includes the paragraph: “Whereas, the ICC is aware that Malati Devi Dasi has been engaged for years in reversing Srila Prabhupada’s many instructions that women be addressed as “mother” (mataji / mata), and advocating women be addressed as “prabhu” (a masculine word. The feminine is “prabhvi”), thus contradicting the clear teachings of Srila Prabhupada,”

-- In my letter to you of May 27th I humbly advised you to be careful about speaking as strongly as you did regarding some senior ladies using the the term ”prabhu” for other ladies. In the meantime a kind devotee who somehow saw my letter to you sent me the following information, extracted from the Vedabase. I'm sure you have this resource, so you can check all these quotations and confirm their validity.

We continue to stand by it because the problem is not just about how women address each other. Malati and others routinely insist that men also should address women as Prabhu. The women's ministry, too, has been aggressively pushing that agenda.

In this regard, please refer to Mata Ji Vishakha devi dasi's old essay (this seems to be the source of your quotes) featured at the Vaishnavi Ministry's website:

http://vaishnaviministry.org/srila-prabhupada-on-the-use-of-the-address-prabhu/

As seen in this exchange in the comments section to the article, one of the commentators (seems to be Indian) notes that Vishakha's article only shows statements where Srila Prabhupada addressed some of his female disciples as "Prabhu" but does not mention any of Srila Prabhupada's other statements where he says women should be addressed as mother.

And despite suggesting what appears to be a "live and let live" solution, in which Western women can address each other however they wish and brahmacharis and Indians may go on with the traditional practice of addressing women as Mother, the Vaishnavi Ministry's website administrator engages in an abusive ad hominem attack on the commentator, accusing him of suggesting that the women who relayed these quotes are liars (a screen shot is also included for future reference):

Good research, but lacking some additional points and information. At the end of the day: Matajis may address each other as they please (and at least for Western devotees, either “Mataji” or “Prabhuji” is fine–neither is wrong); Spiritual Masters may address their disciples to show respect as they please; but Brahmacharis and any male educated in the Vedic system should refer to any women (except his wife if married) as “Mataji.” There is not an exception to the last rule and countless quotes available from Srila Prabhupada to support the idea that a cultured, well educated man always refers to a woman as “Mataji” to show her the respect of a Guru and mother.

One last point: from a grammatical perspective, a Hindi or Sanksrit speaker would never use “Prabhu” to address a woman, and this point should not be lost. (I’d be curious to see any time Prabnupada used “Prabhu” to address a Mataji in Hindi or Bengali – although I doubt such a thing ever happened.) No one will find any Sanksirt text where a Vashnavi is referred to as “Prabhu,” but you will find terms such as “Swamini.”

You can doubt as you like, but Srila Prabhupada himself, a sannyasi male educated in the Vedic system, referred to his female disciples as “Prabhu.”
“Yamuna Prabhu,” “Visakha Prabhu,” “Malati Prabhu,” “Kausalya Prabhu,”
“Madira Prabhu.” Of course, you can call the Vaishnavis whom Srila Prabhupada so addressed and relay this information as liars, but I would hesitate to do that for the sake of your bhakti creeper.

This shows that the GBC's Vaishnavi Ministry is hostile towards traditional shishtachara practiced and advocated by our acharyas, including Srila Prabhupada. And as long as the GBC turns a deaf ear to this, this can also be considered GBC policy. Maunam sammati lakshanam.

Aside from this, there is the question, should it be normative behavior for women to address other women as "Prabhu"? Do women address other women as "Prabhu" in the spiritual world, in Krishna Lila, in Caitanya-lila? As the devotee pointed out above, Hindi / Bengali-speaking women don't. Furthermore, Srila Prabhupada in naming his own disciples specifically reserved Mata for women in names for females and Prabhu for men in names for males:

- Bhumata Devi Dasi (Dallas, September, 1972)
- Gomata Devi Dasi (New Vrindaban, April, 1973)
- Gopimata Devi Dasi (London, 1977)
- Jaganmata Devi Dasi (New York, June, 1975)
- Lokamata Devi Dasi (Amsterdam, August, 1976)
- Sacimata Devi Dasi (Mayapur, March, 1972)
- Sacimata Devi Dasi (Germany, 1975)
- Sarvasaktimata Devi Dasi (Detroit, 1973)
- Vedamata Devi Dasi (New Vrindaban, August, 1975)
- Jagatprabhu Dasa (Paris)
- Jayamahaprabhu Dasa (Argentina, March, 1977)
- Mahaprabhu Dasa (Sydney, May, 1971)
- Mahaprabhu Dasa (New York, 1974)
- Mahaprabhu Krpa Dasa (New Vrindaban, March, 1977)

Srila Prabhupada gave the name "Mata" in some of the names of his female
disciples, but never "Prabhu", as he did with some of his male disciples.

And then there is this charming letter:

-- My Dear little mothers, Yamuna, Malati, Janaki, Please accept my blessings. I lost my mother when I was only 14 years old. So I didn't get much of my mother's affection in my childhood. But in my old age, Krishna has given me so many young mothers to take care of me.

-- Another mother Govinda Dasi is there in Hawaii. She is always asking me to go there. So I will go there within this month. But my one appeal is to my fathers and mothers (Letter to: Yamuna, Malati, Janaki -- Los Angeles 20 February, 1969)

-- Then, of course, there is the matter of Srila Prabhuapda always addressing great Vaishnavis by the title "Mother". Srila Prabhupada *always* says "Mother Yashoda". Kuntimata. Mother Sita, Sacimata, Jahnava Mata, Gangamata Gosvamini, etc. I could produce numerous references, but the normative practice is that women are addressed by the term "Mother" in some form or another or some other, appropriate gender-specific title ("Queen", Maharani, etc.), never "Prabhu." Even today that is the norm among native speakers of Indian languages.

And finally, there are instructions from Srila Prabhupada by which he says that men should address women other than their wives as "Mother".

Of course it is good that you are concerned about being chaste, shy, and submissive amongst your godbrothers. Canakya Pandit said that every man
should see all other women as mother, and similarly a woman should see all
men as son. So what is your difficulty? If you are completely aggressive on  Sankirtana, there should be no material aggressiveness and pride remaining.

You have to distinguish between devotees and non-devotees. (Letter to: Jagaddhatri, Pasupati, Sailogata, Pamela -- Dallas 30 July, 1975)

###

-- So in India, especially, women are still respected. Therefore Canakya Pandita says, matrvat para-daresu: "Any woman who is not your wife, she should be treated as your mother." This is moral instruction. Matrvat. At the present moment, they have invented the word bahinaji, "sister." No. In the Vedic culture, there is no such thing as "sister." "Mother," that is Vedic culture. Because mother is always respected, so any woman, if she is called "Mother..." The brahmacari would go to the householder's house and address the ladies, "Mother. Mother, give us some alms." So from the childhood, a brahmacari is trained to address all women as mother.

Therefore, when they are young, they cannot see women in any other way. This is Vedic culture. (Srimad-Bhagavatam 1.8.24 – October 4, 1974, Mayapur)

 SB 9.10.27

na vai veda maha-bhaga
bhavan kama-vasam gatah
tejo 'nubhavam sitaya
yena nito dasam imam

SYNONYMS: na -- not; vai -- indeed; veda -- did know; maha-bhaga -- O greatly fortunate one; bhavan -- yourself; kama-vasam -- influenced by lusty desires; gatah -- having become; tejah -- by influence; anubhavam -- as a result of such influence; sitayah -- of mother Sita; yena -- by which; nitah -- brought into; dasam -- condition; imam -- like this (destruction).

TRANSLATION: O greatly fortunate one, you came under the influence of lusty desires, and therefore you could not understand the influence of mother Sita. Now, because of her curse, you have been reduced to this state, having been killed by Lord Ramacandra.

PURPORT: Not only was mother Sita powerful, but any woman who follows in the footsteps of mother Sita can also become similarly powerful. There are
many instances of this in the history of Vedic literature. Whenever we find a description of ideal chaste women, mother Sita is among them. Mandodari,
the wife of Ravana, was also very chaste. Similarly, Draupadi was one of five exalted chaste women. As a man must follow great personalities like Brahma and Narada, a woman must follow the path of such ideal women as Sita, Mandodari and Draupadi. By staying chaste and faithful to her husband, a woman enriches herself with supernatural power. It is a moral principle that one should not be influenced by lusty desires for another's wife.

Matrvat para-daresu: an intelligent person must look upon another's wife as being like his mother. This is a moral injunction from Canakya-sloka (10).

matrvat para-daresu
para-dravyesu lostravat
atmavat sarva-bhutesu
yah pasyati sa panditah

"One who considers another's wife as his mother, sees another's possessions as a lump of dirt and treats all other living beings as he would himself is considered to be learned." Thus Ravana was condemned not only by Lord Ramacandra but even by his own wife, Mandodari. Because she was a chaste woman, she knew the power of another chaste woman, especially such a wife as mother Sitadevi.
There are clear instructions that men especially are to address other women as "Mother", as a normative Vedic practice.

So, then how should we understand the instances of Srila Prabhupada has
addressed some women as "Prabhu"? I think it should be seen as one of the
adjustments that Srila Prabhupada made for his Western disciples. But as a
form of address, even for Western disciples it should not be seen on the
same level as "Mother," because his instructions that men should address
women as mother are also for his Western disciples (and it's the norm of
Vedic literature and tradition). Even among women, it should be considered
an inferior form of addressing other women.

In this regard, we do find in Vedic literature many instances of permitted
activities that are relatively considered superior or inferior. For example, in Manu-smriti there are eight forms of marriage given, and each of them, beginning with brahma marriage are progressively inferior in quality (meaning, that the merit conferred by such marriages is progressively less). Hence, the brahma form of marriage today has become the dominant form of marriage in Indian society.

As a policy, the GBC should establish that "Mother" is the superior form of
address, and even among women, "Prabhu" is an inferior form established for
his Western disciples.

But if you continue to let Malati and the Vaishnavi ministry to keep denigrating Srila Prabhupada's instructions by insisting that men also refer to women as "Prabhu", then not only will they be guilty of denigrating Srila Prabhupada's instructions, then the rest of you will be implicated as well.

A little further regarding Malati devi dasi’s use of the term “prabhu” when addressing ladies.

In my letter to you of May 27th I humbly advised you to be careful about speaking as strongly as you did regarding some senior ladies using the
term ”prabhu” for other ladies. In the meantime a kind devotee who somehow saw my letter to you sent me the following information, extracted from the
Vedabase. I'm sure you have this resource, so you can check all these
quotations and confirm their validity.

This is a list of quotations from letters of Srila Prabhupada:

My Dear Ranadhira,

Please accept my blessings. . . Yes, I have all blessings for the happy
marriage of Haladhara Prabhu and Joan Prabhu, so you may immediately do
the needful in this regards. (16 February, 1971)

My Dear Rsabhadeva,

Please accept my blessings. . . So long as there is Guru-Gauranga worship, Yamuna Prabhu may act as pujari . . . (March 25, 1971)

Anna Prabhu may be initiated also and she has my blessings for being
married to Puranda at the earliest convenience. (letter to Mukunda April 3, 1971)

So the stock of japa beads I brought with me has been depleted. Malati Prabhu was supposed to have brought some beads with her from India, and so I would like that those beads be sent immediately to N.Y. center by air. (letter to Tribhuvanatha July 4, 1971)

My Dear Kirtanananda Maharaja, Vrindaban Candra, and Silavati, Please accept my blessings. I beg to acknowledge receipt of your letters just now received by me here in Calcutta and describing your plans for travelling Sankirtana party, and it is very much encouraging news for me. Silavati Prabhu said that this was her long cherished dream. It has been mine also. . . (November 6, 1971)

In Los Angeles I personally advised them in all the different aspects of deity worship, so you may consult, especially with Silavati Prabhu (now in Dallas) and do the needful. . . (letter to Sri Govinda, January 31, 1973)

My dear Gangamayi, Please accept my blessings. . . I am glad to hear that you are determined to stay and live in the temple now and that you are becoming
very much attached to the Deity worship and very serious about serving the Deity along with Malati Prabhu. . . (May 9, 1974)

My Dear Sacimata Prabhu, Please accept my blessings. I am in receipt of your letter dated 3rd October 1976 and I have noted the contents carefully. . .

This is the end of these quotations. I don’t know who provided the wording
for your resolution, but clearly they were insufficiently informed regarding Srila Prabhupada’s statements, and therefore have fallen into a type of trap of offence to Srila Prabhupada of their own creation. And unfortunately they have dragged yourselves into it along with them.

At this stage let me just say that it seems you should be more careful who you listen to. I will inquire from some lady disciples of Srila Prabhupada about their
experiences with Srila Prabhupada using the term with them personally and
inform you of what they say.

Which brings me to the point of the usage of Hanuman das as a resource. I advised you: “I would also be careful about using Hanuman das as a
resource. Of course he has some points, but from my experience with his
presentations what he gets right is deeply contaminated by aparadha and
even maha-aparadha. This includes some of what he says in his apparently
matter of fact way in this video.”

Here is just one example: At about 1.10 he talks about how the Kuli Mela
was advertised on Dandavats.com which is an ISKCON web site, thus
inferring that ISKCON authorities were in favour of the so-called “fashion show”.
Then he refers to that event at 1.24 to 1.29, saying that it was approved
by Malati “prabhu” (note the sarcasm) “and all ISKCON authorities”.

I'm sure I don’t need to tell you that the statement about the web site is a deliberate attempt at character assassination, and that his statement about the event being approved by “all ISKCON authorities” is a much worse attempt at the same. Actually it reveals a very abusive mentality towards ISKCON authority, deliberately presenting wildly inaccurate disinformation or even misinformation, in an effort to deceive innocent devotees into thinking badly about ISKCON authority.

For your information, I have provided the GBCs the url you supplied me to this video, and the first GBC member to respond said: “Such a fashion show and "belly dance" should never have been allowed at any ISKCON event or center. It is a great embarrassment.”

Anyway, my main point today was to help you with your understanding of the
use of the term “prabhu” in regard to ladies by Srila Prabhupada. Perhaps
the other ICC members could be helped with this also.

Hoping this meets you well.

Your servant,

Bhakti Caitanya Swami

Dear Bhakti Chaitanya Maharaj and other GBC members,

Namonamaha. Jaya Srila Prabhupada!

Received your message, seen under the following. This letter you have sent is a good example of how the case of Lokanath Swami has been misrepresented in social media circles, with an extremely selective quotation of testimony that would naturally lead an uninformed person to seriously misunderstand the facts of the case.

We are disturbed that you are still ignorant enough about the case that you, or anyone on the GBC, would consider this letter to warrant consideration as a legitimate summary of the case history and testimonies.

Here, attached again, is an objective comparison and analysis of Satya's two
recorded testimonies. Please read it carefully, as it can be considered our
comprehensive reply to any and all the twisted versions of events that
abound on the internet.

Basu Ghosh Das

PADA: OK we know the victim, too bad for you guys, she is not changing her story. And more people are joining her side of this issue. ys pd

Cyril Wohrer (Chandrashekar) Update (VIDEO)

Message from Chandrashekhar das:

on child abuse, leadership, and accountability.

=================

http://krishna1008.blogspot.com/2021/07/is-iskcon-management-another-north-korea.html

https://krishna1008.blogspot.com/2021/07/cyril-wohrer-attacks-pada.html

===============

There is a certain sannyasa whose scandal has resurfaced after decades.

PADA: Nope, there is a certain: -- sum total of the demigods acharya; parampara member; resident of Vaikuntha; rasika level assistant of Radharani; Krishna's guru successor; messiah of the jagat; who is being worshiped as another Vyasa; -- whose scandal has resurfaced. Of course here we go again, he is the successor  guru to Krishna, which is why he is engaged in zero tolerance deviations.

And followers of Lokanath told me he is accepting their sins, which makes him another Jesus. Sorry, we cannot simultaneously wear the various hats of: a neophyte "in good standing"; an attempting but falling neophyte; a kanistha; an attempting but failing sannyasa; a temple administration leader; a zero tolerance criminal deviant -- and / or -- Krishna's guru successor, another Jesus etc. all at the same time. And this Cyril fellow says we do not know guru tattva, when he cannot clearly identify where is the guru in this whole situation?

And this Cyril fellow called me a jerk, evidently because I am not blending all these levels together as one and the same? He says we should forgive others according to BG 9:30, which is why he blasts and insults other people as jerks right out of the gate, showing no actual signs of forgiving behavior himself.

And now there is a whole push back to have him removed from the ecclesiastic and managing position.

PADA: No, an "ecclesiastic manager" of the church is called (at best) a priest, or a ritvik, and not another messiah who is absorbing other's sins. If the priest deviates, sure we might give him another chance, but at no point do we think the priest is simultaneously the messiah of the church.

The reason some Lokanath followers are giving critics death threats now is, they are being told he is their messiah. It is a fanatical cult. This has nothing to do with "Church administration personnel." Wow, this Cyril fellow seems to have no idea what is the difference between (A) the Church administration department -- and (B) another Jesus?

A fallen person can just chant the holy name and continue service.

PADA: OK wrong, being a successor to Krishna guru is not "a service." It is a position of full purity. A person who is still eating hot dogs can perform "service to Krishna" by attending a festival or something like that, but that does not mean the hot dog eater is also the next messiah of the jagat, just because he performs some "service"?

On the other hand, false gurus are essentially doomed, because they are destined for the most obnoxious regions. There is no amount of "service" or "chanting" that will fix that process -- that we have ever seen recommend.

In short, we cannot juxtapose and confuse the neophyte's position -- conducting basic levels of service, at best Church administration -- with the acharya, who has surpassed all the preliminary sadaka levels and stages. Again, this is mixing up hats. He has the hat of the neophyte, and a failing neophyte at that, and the acharya, simultaneously. Wrong. This is the defective idea called sahajiya-vada, telescoping neophytes with acharyas and pure devotees.

Krishna tells us we should accept a repenting person as a sadhu.

PADA: Where is the repenting here? To say acharyas are fallen, deviating, and are maybe sometimes pedophiles -- is one of the ten offenses to the holy name -- i.e. to consider the guru is an ordinary man, or worse, he is fallen -- maybe more fallen than the ordinary man.

Notice how these ilk keep flipping hats around and around -- on the same person. He is maybe -- a pedophile, he is maybe -- a sannyasa, he is maybe -- a temple administrator, he is maybe -- a guru, he is maybe -- a fallen guy who is attempting to do service, he is maybe -- fallen but still a sadhu, he is maybe -- another messiah, etc. Repenting means, to admit all this is a giant scam and mis-representing of the teachings of Krishna.

Shastra just says, artificial acharyas are residents of hell. Bhagavad Gita 9:30 applies to us neophyte conditioned souls, those of us who are making an attempt, not to bogus acharyas. Rather false acharyas are condemned as residents of hell. A neophyte might fall down, but he is still considered as saintly. Fine! Yet that is not a license to claim -- "I am the next Jesus messiah of the Jagat," and orchestrate banning, beating, molesting, suing and killing Vaishnavas.

The GBC has said all along that their acharyas are regularly falling into illicit sex with men, women and children etc., because acharyas are often fallen debauchees. This is an offense to Krishna and His guru successors.

Lokanath has been part of that crowd -- which CONSTANTLY insults the post of acharyas all day, every day they exist since 1978, day in and day out.

They have never repented for their saying that Krishna's successors and gurus are often illicit sex deviants, drunks, debauchees etc. -- instead -- they are trying to prop yet up another one of their sexual predators, perverts, and / or illicit sex deviants, this time Lokanath, after they already propped up and covered for many previous members of their illicit sex deviants posing as acharyas process.

Apart from that, Lokanath is not resigning, which is what real repenting would start off with, and worse -- he is being encouraged not to resign by many big ISKCON leaders. Of course there is no such things as pedophile acharyas, suspended acharyas, voted in acharyas, acharyas resigning from the post etc., this is all concocted foolishness.

When there is a serious transgression, especially pedophilia, they should be banned.

PADA: OK but what about all the people who are the original 1978 founder fathers of the entire pedophile messiahs regime and program, that has been banning, beating, molesting, suing, and killing dissenters since 1978 -- ok guys like Hrdayananda? Oh I forgot, he is still a valid authority. How can the founder fathers of an illicit sex with men, women and children, and maybe cats, "guru parampara from God" be valid authorities now?

And why are we dissenters to the pedophile guru process banned, but not the pedophile gurus and / or their molesting webs and nests orchestrators, or the founder fathers, apologists, enablers and cheer leaders of the pedophile messiah's club? OK Hrdayananda's ilk.

And is it not also true that Srila Prabhupada says when a guru has sex with a follower, that is the same as a father having sex with his own daughter? And that would make a huge pile of pedophiles (or de facto) -- in the GBC's guru system. And this current cover up attempt is merely another example of a huge stockpile of these folks doing the same things over and over, for example when they tried to cover up for Jayatirtha's fall down way back in 1979, and then tried to paper over -- one after another examples -- of the same deviations.

Children from the gurukulas are giving their horror stories.

Yep, Hrdayananda's horror camp for children program destroyed many or most of the children, agreed. And that is why a number of the ex-children are infuriated that the orchestrators of the abuse regime are still strutting around acting as big authorities now. OK like Hrdayananda.

Some devotee wrote that he wanted to be initiated by Lokanath, and that is very selfish.

Why does the Hrdayananda program rubber stamp all these people as gurus since 1978, when he sees they are falling down left, right and center?

We should take an ISKCON guru at our risk and peril.

PADA: Where in the Vedas does it say we Vaishnavas should promote a pile of illicit sex with men, women, and children, and maybe sex with cats deviants, as the gurus of the institution, and let people "make their own (bad) choices"?

This is like a used car sales operation, you might get a reasonable car, or it might explode and kill you. OK that means the dealer will be sued, because it is his job to make sure his cars are safe -- before -- he promotes the car.

There are no examples of illicit sex deviants being promoted as Vaishnava acharyas in Vedic culture. Rather, we should worship the acharya, and have the conditioned neophytes acting as preachers, priests or "ecclesiastical administration" as he says herein.

Notice how these people mix up sannyasa, fallen but still sadhu, ecclesiastical leader, administration leader, and -- the messiah who is taking one's sins and taking us back to God. Sorry, this is called hodge podge. The Church admin is not on the same level as Jesus, and that is simply common sense known to all rational people -- except these guys?

When I was a kid one of the Church admins was caught with pornography in his locker, so they suspended the guy for one year from his Church position. That is the proper use of suspending, not that the messiah is caught with a porno and he is suspended.

The GBC gives people a green light to be guru.

The GBC gives a green light to deviants to be guru, and they have done so over and over and over and over. That is not the bona fide system.

They don't realize what hell the early kids went through.

PADA: Correct, Hrdayananda's program has been hell for kids. No question. Children were being starved, beaten, molested, given anal reconstructive surgery, while Hrdayananda has been riding around in a big car, living in a big house, being served huge feasts, and having all sorts of opulent lifestyle, and he still does live nicely while most of the kids got -- nothing.

Then we have guys like Rupanuga saying that Srila Prabhupada appointed Madhyam adhikary devotees as his gurus. OK fine except -- illicit sex with men, women and children is not Madhyam. And Mr. Forgetful forgot -- they have been claiming to be Uttama gurus, Krishna's-padas etc. no less.

And not Madhyam!

Another guy who does not know which hat is which. This has to end because, ISKCON cannot survive with all this ridiculous hat switching on one person. We seniors have to decide if people are pedophiles or gurus ourselves, and not let this be decided "at the peril of the new people off the street." And until we find someone else qualified for the post, we need to promote Srila Prabhupada as that Uttama guru for the new people, and all people everywhere.

ys pd

Yep, as soon as we said there is child abuse:
The Hrdayananda program has
ZERO TOLERANCE
for us "dissenters"
We are banned, beaten, exiled, vilified, demonized, sued and -- shot to death.

Hrdayananda is -- the victim?

Jadurani Visits Madhu Pandit's Temple

[PADA: Jadurani is another victim of the GBC mess. She ran off to Narayan Maharaja because at least they treated her like a fellow human being, unlike the GBC folks who attack the senior devotees -- just as they attacked me.

Madhu Pandit is another victim, he too has been treated horribly by the GBC's gangsters. Anyway, the refugees need to start to get together and cooperate more, lets hope this scene below is an encouraging bridge to that developing.

"Can sense Srila Prabhupada's blessings" -- thanks Jadurani dasi, we know you would have stayed with Prabhupada's house, except the barking dogs GBC goonda's squad process chased you (and all of us) out. ys pd]

Dayalu Nitai's HKC Jaipur Folks Have Not Responded

 https://krishna1008.blogspot.com/2015/12/dayalu-nitai-hkc-jaipur-letter-on.html

[PADA: Thanks for your question, what ever happened to the PADA peace proposal with Dayalu Nitai's HKC Jaipur? Well first of all, we asked them -- please explain why your folks want us to all listen to your video, that you guys made with Bhakta das, who is a big cheer leader of Radhanath? Why do we need to take shelter of the Radhanath fan club?

And why do you folks even make videos with GBC's defenders in the first place? Bhakta das refers to "Saint Radhanath" -- and most of our readers are not in agreement that this is a saintly operation.

Then, they have been citing Hari Sauri, saying me and Sulochan are sahajiyas. Of course, the child molester messiah's project wanted to discredit the people who opposed their molester project. So why are the HKC people citing Bhavananda's bucket boy? And discrediting Sulochana, is why the molesting went on, and he was murdered for objecting. Why is that the path forward?

Children were being starved, beaten, molested, and some victims tell me they were beaten to an inch of their lives. And then the HKC goes and takes shelter of their top defender, writer and cheer leader? Why is the HKC Jaipur taking shelter of the top generals in the pedophile messiah's army? Well who knows, they never explain that?

Then they said Bangalore is bogus, because they are taking the GBC to court, to prove that Srila Prabhupada is the acharya. So the HKC is against us going to court to stop children from being molested, and then they are even more infuriated that anyone would try to prove in court that Srila Prabhupada is the acharya. Meanwhile, they are not even suing a peanut, because they do not think checking bogus people is a good idea evidently.

And then they sent their Hitler-anuga fan club leader and attack dog Prahlad das (Paul Coats) to send me death threats, umm, because I am not licking the boots of Saint Radhanath's club leaders? Yep, lets kill anyone who does not promote the worship of pedophiles in samadhis!

Why would they want to have the people who promote Srila Prabhupada killed, and work with the GBC's defenders, and then call themselves Prabhupadanugas? That is false advertising, none of the Prabhupadanugas want to work with the GBC's defenders, or cite them, or make videos with them etc. And none of the Prabhupadanugas threaten to kill me, only defenders of the anal reconstructive surgery epidemic of children messiah's folks are doing that. Ooops, like these guys!

In sum, they are self evidently on the wrong side of history, and that is why they are citing the other people who are also on the wrong side. Anyway, if they have anything further to add, they should. Some of their clones argued -- we did not give them a chance to reply, but that is false, they can reply anytime they want and we will post it. ys pd
