Letter To Hansadutta by Hari Bhatta das

Dear Hansadutta dasa:  I don't know WHO is forwarding these letters (regarding the poison issue) to me, but please STOP!!! You are cursing me as being a follower at Puranjana, but I am NOT HIS follower! In fact I am NO ONE'S follower other than Srila Prabhupada. I am NOT an Idiot like the offensive persons you are quoting seem to be, and I don't have time to stay in never ending rhetorical debates for hours on end.

Puranjana helped win several law suits against the bogus Iskcon gurus, and many documents he  presented are STILL being used in other court cases RIGHT NOW, because he has had the GUTS to go against ALL of you and WIN. And we are going to do it again, but this time its the grand FINALE, with me on board for a lawsuit I'd like to launch with his help as a consultant. Puranjana brought to light MANY issues that nobody else ever would have done, because nobody else had HIS courage and BRAVERY. I am NOT his or anyone's follower, but I am follower of Truth and HE seems to be in that side.

I was sincere with you when I wrote the first letter but it seems that you do not want to step DOWN from your HIGH HORSE, as the authority of others, especially those who fought your bogus guru program. And I don 't CARE how HIGH your horse is, you unfortunately were guilty of the same crimes as the other 11 initial bogus gurus.

You have no authority to attack the people who had to risk their lives establishing Srila Prabhupada as the acharya against you people, like Puranjana and his friends did. Its amazing he is alive at all, preaching the right things against all you people, and you are still giving him a bad name, so he will be attacked all the more? You have learned nothing so far?

Where were you when Puranjana was trying to make Srila Prabhupada the guru of ISKCON? You were saying Kirtanananda is the only pure person on the planet, which was making dangerous conditions for the devotees working with Puranjana, some of whom were killed. Puranjana is the last person you should be criticizing, he risked his life fighting you people, and his friends were killed fighting you people, and he could EASILY have been killed fighting along with them.

So please, Hansadutta I want or wanted to respect you, but you are NOT gaining an IOTA of RESPECT from me by just constantly attacking and cursing and defaming Puranjana, when he has been correct every single time in his complaints about you people. Of course even if Puranjana may be idiot number one, BUT independently from that, you also have done many crimes that are recorded with the FBI, he has not. So, for a minute I thought you were humbling down, but maybe it was MY wishful thinking because sometimes I perceive you as PUFFED UP as all the other original FOOLS, and you have not come down to earth yet.

Please do not Insult my intelligence, because I have been a Lawyer for many years and studied and listened to Srila Prabhupada maybe MORE than you probably EVER will, so I do not appreciate these remarks by your group of stupid persons, whoever they are.

I also do not care about THIS or THAT opinion. And so I am starting to doubt YOUR opinions Hansadutta. This is an insult, thinking we can twist anybody around in philosophy and beat them to the ground. In fact I don't think ANYBODY in Iskcon is as smart as intelligent as ME (and I say this with Humbleness, REAL humbleness) because they all support so many bogus things.

But at some point, I must tell you guys who you are talking with! It maybe the REASON why Srila Prabhupada and Krishna selected ME to be initiated. Please don't come to me "TEACHING ME," I have little to learn from somebody that has enjoyed so much POWER, fame, adoration and distinction.

I came to KRISHNA to serve Krishna, exactly like Srila Prabhupada's words say, and NOT to acquire ANY power, adoration, distinction or FAME. In FACT I despise these things with ALL my heart, so be careful before you talk you me because I am NOT on any type of HIGH HORSE.

Please understand Hansadutta, that your position is very tottering and insecure because you have unfortunately breached the TRUST of all vaishnavas, including ME!! Your explanation is understandable that you obeyed Kirtananda's orders, but now what is the excuse or reason NOT to be humble? And I don't mean to condemn you, or rub on your face in your past mistakes, but now there is ONLY ROOM for REPENTANCE and APOLOGY. That is ALL, nothing less, nothing more, but with me if you become puffed UP you are DOOMED .

I am very very very Humble, submissive and meek BUT ONLY to whoever I CHOOSE to be submissive to and no one else. NO so-called siddhanta can FORCE me to do anything. I do everything with LOVE and I am doubly careful now, especially that I found out about all of you guys cheating in disobedience to Srila Prabhupada's FINAL ORDERS

You started preaching to me like I was either a Karmi or a neophyte, when I have studied these issues. Please RECTIFY this attitude towards me, you should be my older God brother and I should have certain respect for that BUT that is not all you need to EARN MY respect, and the all other Vaishnava's respect, especially now that you AND  your "FRIENDS" have caused so much damage to all the devotees, maybe for a few generations. So you have still not realized how you LOST ALL your rights to criticize "ANYBODY" including Puranjana and /or ME!!.........even if Puranjana is fool number one, you are not his superior.

Besides I am doing very important service for Srila Prabhupada right now and I do not want to be disturbed with never ending debates. I am a very successful person FOR SRILA PRABHUPADA and Krishna  I only PRAISE devotees when they are trying to do some service for Srila Prabhupada. And I think you are judging without knowing Puranjana closely, and what HE HAS DONE, and he is still doing: genuine service. So the idiot people that criticize devotees who are doing service, they can and will all go to hell, and if you side with them maybe you will go to hell with them also.

Dear Hansadutta, I respect you as a devotee but if are going to make me a target or recipient of offenses to sincere devotees I am OUT! I have enough real Siddhanta because I read more books than these idiots have EVER read and listen to Srila Prabhupada for more than 40 years, every single day ....... how many years have YOU people listened???!!

Another point is: Why do you so-called older devotees always WANT to give "US" lectures, and you don't want to listen to others instead? Probably you have NOTHING to teach us, and maybe we have more to teach you than you can teach us!! Can you think of that for just a second ?? That is the FIRST thing I perceived when I came to Iskcon, thinking I was going to meet the most humble people on the planet, BUT to my great SURPRISE instead I often found some of the MOST uncaring, selfish, puffed up, arrogant, impudent and probably worse than any karmi people anywhere. And since you were one of the leaders of this group, it seems all of you were training these people to behave this way?

So I had to leave all this because of you people, you made it uninhabitable. And now I am on solid and even ground. I can debate and defeat ANY fool that dares to challenge me from your side. Do you want to test me??!! In any case, I do not have time now but in future I want to meet with hundreds of YOU against ME alone, and we will see who WINS!!!

All of you, as I observed, are so puffed up that immediately you wanted to sit in the Vyasa asana and give us your divine "lecturezzzz." Don't you think that after our 40 years of reading and listening, we have some lectures to give to YOU also, like teaching you how to be humble??!! Like I said I have no time to waste with rhetorical never ending debates for me everything is "CLEAR."

Contrary of what you told me Hansadutta, that on your website everything is "CLEAR." With all due respect, it is not at all clear. And I became more confused reading your site. So that is WHY I decided to stay away for a while from all this, as much as I respect adore and respect Srila Prabhupada my Divine Master (the SYMBOL of HUMBLENESS) maybe you guys can practice SOME little bit of HIS humbleness and maybe you will be alright!!

Always preaching DOWN on US does not show any humbleness, but shows the most egregious PUFFED UP-NESS, arrogance and impudence that we have witnessed all along.  Please ........SIT down !! And listen to OTHER'S who should lectures you guys. You fellows have LOST ALL your RIGHTS to "GIVE" us any lectures. Now you have to catch up with US. We have ALREADY listened to all your nonsense for so many years, but we WOKE UP !! Now, be careful when you wake a sleeping dog!!!!!

I do not have the luxury of your never ending debates and insults to other vaishnavas, just be HUMBLE, MEEK and surrender as much as you can to the order, ESPECIALLY the FINAL ORDER of Srila Prabhupada -- and you will be okay!! I am sorry but I can not keep e-mailing with you just to be receiving offenses towards Puranjana, who has done more than you ever will to re-establish Srila Prabhupada. I explained to you before that I a want to be eventually working with FBI and CIA an many lawyers from the government to put everyone that is rebellious to Srila Prabhupada's FINAL ORDER in JAIL!! That is MY story and ONLY mission in my life which is YOURS???

[PADA: I think Maddy is the son of Prithu das? Its unfortunate that many of these "ex-kulis" (general term for children of Srila Prabhupada's original disciples)seem to have little place for them in the current ISKCON structure. For example, most of the ex-kulis here in the Bay Area have little to do with the current ISKCON movement.

They might show up once a year at Rathayatra, that's about all their connection is, at least for most of them. The current leaders seem to have no tangible out reach program or plan to recover them either. The good news is -- that there are many young people of the "ex-kulis" age group (some with their own young children) -- going to the Sunnyvale temple and affiliates in India, so we are sort of rebuilding outside the framework of the current GBC managing system. ys pd]

"Krishna West" Dragging Whole ISKCON Down

Open Letter to ISKCON

BY: JAYANANDA VENKATACHALAM

I, and many, many others from India have always been deeply troubled by undue pernicious influence of Western culture upon the traditional (Vedic) culture of India. This influence has greatly accelerated in recent years due to the ubiquitous sway of the Internet.

Simultaneously, in recent years, I have found myself more and more sympathetic to the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) for helping restore and promulgate our traditional Vedic heritage. At the very least, ISKCON has been a stabilizing influence on traditional Indian society and mores.

However, I have recently come across a website that has given me serious misgivings about ISKCON. This website is "www.iskcon.us". That website uses the official ISKCON logo, and their Facebook page uses that logo as well as a tagline, "Independent ISKCON publication". So it certainly appears to be an official ISKCON website.

[PADA: Nope, this web site is managed by ISKCON approved "gurus" like Hrdayananda and Bir Krishna. It is an official ISKCON approved web site because the people operating the site are ISKCON approved "acharyas."]

I find the images and content disturbing. A great deal of the material focuses not only on its unabashed championing of homosexuality, but an extremely outrageous flamboyant type of depravity, as exemplified by the images here.

I realize that this website is being targeted to the American audience. But is there a plan to export this type of watered-down, deviant Vaishnavism to India? When I return to India, what can I expect to see? Will ISKCON continue to uplift society or hasten its degradation? Is society not degenerating fast enough on its own?

[PADA: ISKCON is hastening is own degradation, sums it up pretty much.]

I pray that perhaps this www.iskcon.us is not an official ISKCON website. Perhaps the ISKCON trademark and logo has been pirated by some lunatic fringe element. If that is the case, then ISKCON should enforce its copyrights and trademarks, and not have the reputation of ISKCON besmirched by this sort of thing.

Respectfully yours,
Jayanand Venkatachalam

[PADA: No, the iskcon.us web site is an official ISKCON web site run by ISKCON approved acharyas. And yes, its attacking Vedic culture. Correct. The GBC of ISKCON has become completely shameless, thats the conclusion. ys pd]

Hare Krishna,

How indiscriminately merciful a pure devotee is!
Srila Prabhupada rang his bell. I went at once to his room and offered my obeisances. When I sat up, his eyes widened. Looking at me with great concern, he pointed to the floor near my legs and said, "Do you see that bug?"

Very Nice Analysis by Krishna Kirtan das

REMINDER: THE AGE OF HYPOCRISY

Behind the mask of civility, what's really behind all of this? You know, so much has been said, so much information has been twisted, so much confusion manufactured, and what remains? Facts, lots of them. No, today I'm not going to talk about the concerns many credible devotees have regarding the attempted poisoning of Srila Prabhupada, which are based on damming evidence and serious questions which have not been satisfactorily answered.

How can anyone expect any real answers anyway, whom are we asking? That's the first question. So no, I'm not going to talk about recorded tapes, witness accounts, lack of investigation, missing tapes, doctored tapes, destruction of documents, or even Srila Prabhupada's own words. Why bring this up (again), right?

But we can talk a little about what we do know for certain. Some historical facts as experienced by many credible devotees. What's happened to ISKCON? And who are the individuals who jointly caused so much damage to the society and the children over the years? Who are these people?

Well, one thing I can say, or let's say, shall we name just a few? Just look around. Have you noticed how so many Tamal Krishna Goswami's defenders and their close associates are pretty much all one and the same? With all due respect, Ambarish Prabhu, in due consideration for all the MILLIONS of dollars you have spent (or are spending) on the Temple of the Vedic Planetarium; do you think anyone still cares to remember that your close friend Bhavananda, who you hired so diligently and who still walks around like he is some kind of authority, was one of the main responsible for so many atrocities in the Gurukulas in India under his direct leadership? Not everyone has such dull memory you know.

Speaking of memory, let's take a quick look at the others, shall we? Eleven is a good number to start. Obviously the ocean of rascaldom is amazingly greater than the common citizen's wildest imagination, but we can take some samples. Let's see some sample results.

After causing all sorts of disruption among sincere devotees world wide, unspeakeable crimes, the reaction comes. Jayathirta, was decapitated. Bhagavan, lost in gold and lost forever. Tamal Krishna, horrifying death. Jayapataka, debiliated by stroke and disfigured. Hridayananda, too complex and cynic to get into (it would make great mundane poetry). Bhavananda, disgraced, although the impossible was attempted to bring him back to grace by the others. Ramesvara, ran away, then recently comes back hugging all the same others who he already loved from day one. Ramesvara in one word, a hypocrite, and now posing as some kind of defender of the original books.

Oh yes, Jayadvaita, the changer of Srila Prabhupada's original books, which is the worse in my personal opinion. Kirtanananda, oh Lord, where is his crown? Was it buried with him also? Of couse, let's not forget about the other elevated dignitaries who just recently went to his "samadhi" to pay their obeisances to the murderer Kirtanananda. Harikesh, gone insane.

Altogether, who are these people? Who knows what unites them, but what we know is that they are indeed friends, who will pat each other's backs at the first opportunity, even if after years and years without even seeing each other. If they can, when it's publicly viable, they will always cooperate with each other, as it has been ALWAYS the case. Heck, if there was this kind of unity among the greater devotee community, we would be in a different situation for sure. This is really quite an excercise of memory of history. It's painful to think about yet impossible to forget.

Of course, none of them are alone or were ever. Their host of disciples, spies, affiliates, huge bank accounts and world network of connections, are everywhere. What about today? Today we have on top of that another sixty+ Gurus, most of them pretty much nicely cooperating with each other and supporting an incompetent and power crazy GBC.

So I beg to ask anyone. Is there any credibility left out there? I myself grew up in ISKCON, have seen and heard so much, and in all my years in it, I was always very careful how I addressed and talked about any of these rascals, but to this day my memory does not fail me so easily.

No matter how many years go by, the history of these individuals remains and it's not over yet. How can anyone make 'thousands' of devotees, when so many of the already existing ones who were living in the devotee communities have been forcibly kicked out and neglected? Their glorious works of hypocrisy only exist in order to sustain their positions and blind the unsuspecting innocent.

And speaking of neglect, where is Al Ford with his millions of dollars, or thousands, or even a few hundred dollars, to help repair the temples in the USA established by Srila Prabhupada himself, so many of which are physically falling apart, starting with the Detroit mansion that he himself donated? I was in Detroit in 2008, and it's a disaster which I should spare you the description.

Altogether, this is Kali-yuga. The age of HYPOCRISY.

There, I said it.

Sincerely,
Krishna Kirtan

Controlling Sex Desire (Gauragopala das)

[PADA: Srila Prabhupada says that when we control the desire for sex life, we are 99 percent liberated. Of course, we have some people who are not able to have sex, especially middle aged Americans, and they are going to doctors to get sex therapy, pills, viagra and all that, so despite not having the ability -- they still have the desire. So their minds are still clouded. Thus this article's title below is very important, it means we need to control the desire for mundane sex life, and this is one of the keys to being liberated. In sum, mundane sex life is the perverted reflection of our attraction to Krishna. ys pd]

Controlling Sex Desire

BY: GAURAGOPALA DASA

The great secret of the cosmos is controlling sex desire, by doing so you become very powerful. Sexual activity rivets one to the bodily concept, even in marriage one is meant to have sex for the procreation of children, semen is very powerful substance and the only way to retain it is by engaging the mind in higher conscious activities of Krishna Consciousness which is difficult, if one can do that and refrain from passing semen then ones energy increases and one becomes very powerful.

Only the great preachers are truly celibate, unfortunately there are many pretenders in the garb of a saintly men out there and their laziness and impotency in old age is due to the addiction of passing semen during their youth. The true platform of celibacy cannot be achieved artificially, one must elevate their consciousness and the process of marriage is part of that. However, even in marriage one is suppose to have sex only once a month, but really, who is doing that? Very few in today's world.

So without even knowing their full potential, most men restrict themselves due to addiction to sex life not realizing that by having total control over it, one taps into a reservoir of enormous strength and clarity of mind.

One of Maya's duties is to make sure you remain weak and under her control, which means addiction to the sexual feeling that binds and rivets one to their material body and therefore makes you plan everything around that 'feeling' or addiction. Maya will not let anyone disturb Krishna so she tests everyone who tries to approach Him through a pure devotee by testing one, and that test is mostly sexual attraction in its variety of ways.

Sex desire cannot be suppressed, either. If you are not attracted to women then it will pop up as masturbation, homosex or even paedophilia, which has plagued most religious traditions today who artificially attempt celibacy. In this way Maya uses sex to keep one down there and bewildered by her material energy -- so far down that one does not realize the power of sex desire or how fallen and restricted by Maya they really are. All problems in life stem from uncontrolled sex desire that causes bewilderment and then acting in ways that disturbs others and oneself, never realizing the true mystical qualities of practising celibacy.

Maya also even makes you believe it a taboo subject that no one likes talking about because in truth, it's too close to one's inner secrets and true polluted nature of attachment to this material body. It is those inner secrets that remain 'unspeakable' that keep one ignorant of how amazingly powerful sex desire is and if totally controlled, will change your life in ways you could not even imagine.

Controlling sex desire can make you materially powerful or Spiritually powerful, the choice is yours. Many great demons practiced celibacy and also become very powerful. The point is, for spiritual advancement it is necessary, otherwise it is impossible to advance.

Marriage life is part of the process of Spiritual life and bringing children into this world is the purpose of sex life. That is also controlling sex life, because one is using it for what it is meant for however, at age of 55 or 60 it is recommended both you and your wife give up family life because what is the purpose of sex life at that advanced age if your wife cannot bear children?

In this way both husband and wife should dedicate the remainder of their lives fully to God and become in harmony with nature and the universe, in this way avoiding the cycle of birth and death again, and instead return back home back to Krishna.

Bhakta S. on poison issue

BK S: No never, the poison issue advocates claim that he S.P actually revealed the truth in Hindi to the kaviraja about his poisoning, while keeping the information hidden from his disciples. S.P added My Guru Maharaja also, The same old story. Vahi Bat quote which is, someone has poisoned me, it leaves very little to the imagination.

Dr.j.steven Morris, a member of the lauder nuclear analysis program, reports that the 2.6 ppm of arsenic found in S.P Hair clippings was twenty times higher than normal, along with a powerful audio enhanced CD of recorded statements by S.P and his attending servants in 1977, complete with relevant Hindi / Bengali translation, and transcripts from BBT Archives.

Lying to us to keep us from going, the bottom line was economic. But they were thinking in 1977 in terms only of themselves. What would be left over for them if all the devotees went to India? The Higher Cause wasnt about SP, it was about them, treasuries depleted and no money coming in.

The GBC cannot allow that, could it? It was discovered, they had a burning ambition [ on com ] plotting and misleading devotees, members and SP followers by arranging the publishing of their bogus book Not that i am poisoned. In a hierarchical system, they saw themself as Rana Tika or Heir Apparent and used the system and belief to control every situation, for their own selfish benefit, and how we were all cheated. SP here makes a dying request that all his disciples come to his side. I love the man, Jai SP Nevertheless , it is my great disappointment, about this grave matter

HKM Building New Temple in Hyderabad

Hare Krishna Movement - Hyderabad had performed the auspicious Bhoomi Puja for the construction of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple on 2nd May 2014 (Akshaya Tritiya day) in its premises on Road#12, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad

The Govt of AP had allotted an ancient Swayambhu Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Temple & its land measuring 4.37 acres to Hare Krishna Movement - Hyderabad for developing the Kshetram on a long lease basis in 2011.

Hare Krishna Movement is been actively developing the temple and the land as per the GO (Govt order) of the govt.

On Akshaya Tritiya day, it has conducted the Bhoomi Puja for the first phase of the development in the Kshetram which is to construct an excellent traditional temple for Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy, The presiding Deity of the Kshetram. The cost of this temple is estimated to be around Rs 10 crore.

In the next phase of development, Hare Krishna Movement is planning to construct a monumental cultural complex with an investment of 90 crore which will become the pride of Hyderabad.

Many devotees, dignitaries, judiciary, media, Agama pandits and Pujaris were part of this glorious event. High Court Justice Sri Chandraiah Garu was present in the event in his personal capacity as a devotee of Lord Narasimha.

The construction activity has begun immediately after the Bhoomi Puja. The focus would be to complete the temple in the next 2 years.

We extend our special thanks to the well-wishers, donors, supporters, devotees and govt agencies for making this event successful.

All Glories to Srila Prabhupada! All Glories to Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy! All Glories to Sri Nitai Gauranga!

The Krishna West Disaster Continues

As Krishna West Sinks Further and Further ...

[PADA: Meanwhile, the "Krishna West" acharyas like Hrdayananda and Bir Krishna remain as bona fide acharyas for ISKCON. The GBC has not removed them from posts as leaders for ISKCON. The people who are publicly challenging the philosophy of the Krishna religion, are the acharyas of the Krishna religion? Also note below the mention of Kirtanananda, ok and the GBC has recently buried him in the Holy Dham in a "samadhi." It seems the entire GBC is now drifting off into Krishna -- Westernization. Its no longer "mission drift" its, "mission sinking into the Western ocean."

Meanwhile, Krishna Kirti's ONEISKCON site still promotes other ISKCON leaders like Danavir, Bhakti Vikas swami et al., who are all part of the same bogus GBC system that keeps and empowers the Krishna West folks as ISKCON's acharyas? There is no proposal being made by Krishna Kirti how to get the ship afloat and aright -- before it sinks? ys pd]

Philosophy, Rules, and Krishna West

BY: KRISHNA KIRTI DASA

A senior Krishna West preacher has written:

"The statistics paint a very different picture, on the contrary: the large majority of disciples of Hridayananda Maharaja have in fact not rejected their guru and instead continue to derive inspiration in their Krishna Consciousness from him. . . . . Aside from the above consideration, the question is how does one define the state of being "fallen." How many times does Prabhupada claim that if one chants sixteen rounds and follows the four regulative principles, one is precisely *not* fallen?" [1]

In 1987, when Kirtanananda Swami was excommunicated from ISKCON, a majority of his disciples followed him. Yet no one at the time accused him of (or believed) that he was breaking the four regulative principles or not chanting his 16 rounds. Indeed, there is no mention of any of this in the 1987 resolution that expelled him from ISKCON: http://gbc.iskcon.org/2012/02/03/1987/.

So, what we have here in ISKCON is a precedent for rejecting someone as a spiritual master who might otherwise follow all the regulative principles but as per the GBC resolution has nevertheless "systematically obscured and minimized His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada's pre-eminent position as the Founder-Acarya of ISKCON." Yet we are supposed to think that if such a person follows the four regulative principles and chants sixteen rounds, he is nonetheless a bona fide spiritual master? To quote Hridayananda Maharaja himself, "What planet have you been on? Where have you been? Like are you coming from some other sector of the galaxy?" [2]

The Krishna West preacher's omission of philosophy as a qualification for a bona fide spiritual master is the very definition of fanaticism: religion without philosophy. Without addressing the question of Maharaja's fidelity to the conclusions of our disciplic succession, the fact that most of HDG's disciples still follow him without hesitation just as credibly demonstrates that it is human nature to follow the leader, yad yad acharati shreshtas. It is for this reason that Krishna Himself points out that if he did not perform prescribed duties, all the three worlds would follow His example, utsideyor ime loka, na kuryad karma ced aham. . . Indeed, during the zonal acharya days, most disciples went along with whatever their later-to-be-fallen gurus were telling them to do, no matter how ridiculous the instruction and how contrary it was to whatever Prabhupada taught. Yad yad acharati shreshtas. Thus it is not surprising that a Krishna West preacher would advise us to "go with the flow", with vox populi, because Krishna West itself is a populist initiative.

The question then as to whether Hridayananda Maharaja is a bona fide spiritual master is not primarily about his own sadhana, it is not primarily about the rules he follows. It is about what he teaches and what he says he believes, because rules stand on that. In a recent lecture about Krishna West, Maharaja says, "The rule follows the philosophy. The philosophy doesn't exist to justify the rule." As he further explains, people easily give up rules if they have no philosophy to sustain them. Srila Prabhupada himself also believed this, which explains why he was lenient with devotees who broke the regulative principles but was much more intolerant of devotees who preached some deviant idea, even if they were otherwise vigilant in following all the rules. The question of whether Maharaja has in fact deviated is important because his philosophy will necessarily guide the Krishna West project, what to speak of his own disciples and admirers. "The rule follows the philosophy." Even if for the time being Krishna West disciples follow all the rules that ISKCON devotees are supposed to follow, if the philosophy Maharaja preaches is deviant, then the rules of Krishna West will eventually change or be abandoned for some others.

Here then is the question: Does Hridayananda Maharaja teach something that deviates from the conclusions of the disciplic succession? Maharaja's followers grudgingly admit that Maharaja holds differences with Srila Prabhupada on certain matters, but they frame them as differences of opinion, not major theological departures. And they further point out that great acharyas in our disciplic succession sometimes differed with one another on matters of interpretation. In this way they suggest that whatever differences Maharaja has with Srila Prabhupada, they should be seen as yet another example of one great acharya differing with another. Maharaja's followers consequently believe the rest of us should just reverently accept his differences as some kind of spiritual diversity and question him no further. They feel that Maharaja is himself on a level of spiritual advancement where his own judgment is never to be questioned, like that of purvacharyas such as Srila Jiva Goswami, Srila Vishvanatha Chakravarti Thakura or Srila Baladeva Vidyabhushana. So a question related to Maharaja's status as a bona fide spiritual master is his own level of spiritual advancement: Is his adhikara similar to that of a Sridhara Svami, whose authority we are obliged to accept without argument? So there are two questions central to vindicating Maharaja's status as a bona fide guru: one question has to do with the nature of his differences with Srila Prabhupada, and the other his own spiritual status.

Unfortunately, the answer to the first question is negative, and it turns out to be so negative that it practically settles the second question. Maharaja has significant differences with Srila Prabhupada, and they are wide enough to count as a deviation. Over the past ten years, Maharaja has consistently questioned the authority of Srila Prabhupada's statements in his own books and purports and in other instances where Srila Prabhupada is unquestionably speaking as a spiritual authority.

The differences are indeed non-trivial, as they have serious implications for our own understanding of Srila Prabhupada's own authority and how we approach shastra. Indeed, what Hridayananda Maharaja has been teaching his followers is an alternative way of interpreting Srila Prabhupada that allows them to disregard almost anything he says.

In a Bhagavatam purport (3.20.26), Srila Prabhupada says that "It appears here that the homosexual appetite of males for each other is created in this episode of the creation of the demons by Brahma." But Maharaja says, "Yet although homosexuality is said to have existed since the dawn of creation, the Bhagavatam does not explicitly describe nor proscribe it."

[3] But then what does it mean to call Srila Prabhupada's statement a purport, wherein Prabhupada explicitly describes it and proscribes it? If Srila Prabhupada's purport does not convey the intended meaning of shastra, then it is faulty (and why even pretend to call it a "purport"?), and if it is faulty it has no authority. If Srila Prabhupada's purports sometimes have things in them that do not represent the conclusions of the sampradaya, then everything he has written in his books has to be approached with suspicion. This profoundly changes the way we as devotees approach Srila Prabhupada in his books, so this counts as a major change, not simply an inconsequential difference. This difference will be fundamental to the development of Krishna West.

Maharaja's recommendation for gay monogamy depends on establishing that Srila Prabhupada's purports lack authority. Maharaja says, "since we do not find a specific, explicit, unambiguous set of rules for dealing with homosexuality, we must engage in spiritual reasoning about it." Maharaja ignores Srila Prabhupada's purport completely, except to minimize it, to clear it out of the way so he can put forward his own ideas. This is not "explaining" Srila Prabhupada, but "explaining him away."

This is the same offense for which Lord Caitanya reprimanded Vallabha Bhatta, for rejecting the commentary of Sridhara Svami, svami na mane yei jana vesyara bhitare tare kariye ganana, "Whoever does not accept the authority of the svami (husband) I count among the prostitutes." Srila Prabhupada called such interpretations Mayavada-bhashya, wherein scholarly interpretations are introduced to "fulfill someone's personal ambition." The choice to deliberately mislead the reader about the will of Krishna, or his pure devotee, is a great blunder, for which the consequence "will be that the misguided student of Bhagavad-gita will certainly be bewildered on the path of spiritual guidance and will not be able to go back to home, back to Godhead." Since this is a philosophy on which Krishna West's rules will depend, Krishna West is itself a misguided project.

Hridayananda Maharaja's own disregard for Srila Prabhupada's teachings explains why he increasingly goes outside of those teachings to understand Krishna consciousness. In a recent defense of his advocacy for gay monogamy and for a moral philosophy called "consequentialism", he writes, "KK attacks my 'consequentialism' and yet I learned this view from Krishna Himself in various Shastras, as clearly documented in my paper on Vaishnava morality." [4] And indeed, one will note in that paper the sparseness with which Srila Prabhupada himself is quoted to support consequentialism.

Indeed, one will especially note that the main support for his philosophy of consequentialism comes not from the Gita or Bhagavatam, which he does refer to occasionally, but from highly selective quotes from the Mahabharata. One will also note in his paper, which is 22 pages and addressed to an ISKCON audience, and in which he introduces in detail his philosophy of consequentialism, almost nothing Srila Prabhupada has said about either consequentialism or homosexuality is quoted. Maharaja's own scriptural exegeses thus indicate a clear and increasing avoidance of Srila Prabhupada. It is upon this aversion to Srila Prabhupada's authority that Krishna West will form its practice of Krishna consciousness.

One will note that by way of consequentialism, Maharaja reached exactly the opposite conclusion from Srila Prabhupada as to how devotees with homosexual tendencies should make spiritual advancement. In recent comments, Maharaja writes,

'When I state that devotees should encourage gay devotees to give up promiscuity in favor of disciplined monogamy, KK states: "…Srila Prabhupada…unequivocally condemned the very notion—even for the general public, what to speak of for his own devotees."

'In fact, Prabhupada often stated that Krishna consciousness is a gradual process for everyone. He encouraged everyone to gradually give up sense gratification. Prabhupada condemned intoxication but he stated that the alcoholic should try to see Krishna as the taste in wine.' [5]

But this is a deliberate misrepresentation of Srila Prabhupada. To a homosexual disciple, Prabhupada himself said, "it will only hamper your advancement. . . You should stop this homosex immediately. It is illicit sex, otherwise, your chances of advancing in spiritual life are nil. Show Krishna you are serious, if you are." Moreover, Srila Prabhupada was consistent in his statements on the matter of homosexuality. "'Watchtower.' It has criticized, one priest has allowed the marriage between man to man, homosex."

"So these things are going on," says Srila Prabhupada. "They take it purely for prostitution. That's all." As can be seen, this is quite the opposite of what Maharaja has inferred to be Srila Prabhupada' intentions. This deliberate misdirection on the part of Maharaja will inform and guide Krishna West. If the rule follows the philosophy, here is the philosophy that Krishna West will follow.

Maharaja has defined himself as an opponent of Srila Prabhupada. Over the span of a decade, he has consistently stated (2005) "Srila Prabhupada also taught unceasingly that his own ultimate qualification, and indeed the qualification of any bona fide guru, is to always faithfully repeat the teachings of Krishna as they are found in revealed scriptures," and then used this to ignore Srila Prabhupada's statements in a purport he found inconvenient. In 2013 when disputing the validity of the pastime of Yudhisthira gambling away his brothers and Draupadi in a rigged match with Shakuni, he doubts the pastime despite the fact that its authenticity is upheld not only by Srila Prabhupada but by other acharyas.

But in his own defense he wrote, "The case of Draupadi: 1. Prabhupada emphatically taught that the Guru's teachings are infallible because the Guru is simply repeating Shastra. Prabhupada made it very clear that a Guru is not infallible when not repeating Shastra." [6] We have already noted Lord Caitanya's objection to Vallabha Bhatta's similar dismissal of Sridhara Svami. Here is more about the nature of a devotee of the caliber of Srila Prabhupada: "The statements of Thakura Bhaktivinoda are as good as scriptures because he is a liberated person. Generally the spiritual master comes from the group of such eternal associates of the Lord . . ." (Letter to Janardana, 26 Apr 1968).

And the same is true of Srila Prabhupada. But if you think he "is not infallible when not repeating Shastra", especially in his purports (as Maharaja has alleged), then that means, at the very least that a) Maharaja thinks he clearly understands shastra better than Srila Prabhupada, and b) that his own spiritual master in his own purport has an inferior, faulty understanding.

This is just not the way you regard your own acharya, especially a parampara acharya like Srila Prabhupada. Traditional Vaishnava scholars will say they agree with Shankaracharya as long as he is repeating shastra. Indeed, Lord Caitanya said something similar to Sarvabhauma Bhattacharya after He heard the acharya's Mayavada discourse on Vedanta. This is the attitude of an opponent, and it is unfortunate that Maharaja has assumed it towards his own spiritual master. [7] If the rule follows the philosophy, then Krishna West will inherit this regard for Srila Prabhupada from Krishna West's founder.

Hridayananda Maharaja's statements over the past decade indicate that he himself has distanced himself from Srila Prabhupada, both in precept and in practice. That is why we saw that in 2004 he took a public stand to say that ISKCON should offer public support and encouragement for gay monogamy, and then in 2008 he participated in and caused to be performed an actual "gay monogamy" ceremony.

And as his recent statements indicate, he still stands with those other statements. And now in 2013 and in 2014 he has applied the same principles and doubt to different spiritual topics Srila Prabhupada spoke about. Since the rule follows the philosophy and since Maharaja's own philosophical stance toward Srila Prabhupada is oppositional, we cannot continue to consider Maharaja as a bona fide guru. His differences with Srila Prabhupada are too wide and deep to dismiss as trivial difference of opinion.

Finally, the Krishna West preacher writes,

"Krishna Kirti dasa is so enlightened and has such superior intelligence that he sees what the large majority of his godbrothers and godsisters - and all of the thousands of admirers of Hridayananda Maharaja - are too stupid to see."

To this it can be said that history has a tendency to repeat itself. Human beings, including devotees, have a tendency to follow their leader regardless of whether he is right or wrong. As Hridayananda Maharaja would say, this is "a sociological fact." In our society we have seen large populations of otherwise gifted devotees follow a deviant leader without question. It may be that this Krishna West preacher is too young to be aware of these events, but the rest of us who know better should not be swayed by vox populi and instead seriously address Maharaja's departure from the conclusions of our disciplic succession and his demonstrated opposition to Srila Prabhupada's authority.

Your servant, Krishna Kirti das

How Did It All Come Down to Madhu Pandit Das?

PADA: I think the real question is, and this is what even some Karmis asked us recently, why has it come down to a India High Court lawsuit to establish that Srila Prabhupada is the acharya of ISKCON as per the July 9th letter, and that the disciples of ISKCON are his?

Why didn't the disciples of Srila Prabhupada establish that themselves 35 years ago? Why is it having to be thrown at the mercy of the court, submitted by one person named MPD? Where are / were all the disciples of Srila Prabhupada? Why didn't they establish that as the legal rule of law for ISKCON all along, instead of one guy named MPD? The fact that Madhu Pandit has to be in India High court to establish that Srila Prabhupada is the acharya, and that the disciples of ISKCON are his, as per the July 9th letter -- that means -- everyone else (ok the mass of Srila Prabhupada's disciples) has failed to establish that as the legal policy of the society.

And if Madhu Pandit is the only person in high court trying to establish that Srila Prabhupada is the acharya for ISKCON, and that the initiations should be conducted as per making the initiates Srila Prabhupada's, that means everyone else failed to make that the established legal regulation of ISKCON. At least Madhu Pandit is making some attempt to have that the law of ISKCON, no one else is in court with this idea at all, period.

And if we do not want to have Srila Prabhupada established as the legal initiator of the society as per the July 9th letter, as Madhu Pandit is at least attempting, however good or bad he is otherwise, then we will simply keep the current status quo GBC guru system of initiations as the legal process of the society. Hey, if that is what we want, to have the current GBC debauchee guru system as the recognized legal system of initiations, and we want MPD's case to fail to establish that Srila Prabhupada is the initiator, then no one should complain that people are going to be initiated by fools, rogues and debauchees, because that's what we will have if we cannot establish legally that Srila Prabhupada is the initiator for the society.

Personally, I am ashamed of so many of my God brothers for not even bothering to make sure that Srila Prabhupada should be the legal initiator of his own movement, and its come down to one guy in Bangalore having to do that instead of all of us making that the legal rule all along.

So fine, if people want MPD to fail, and have the GBC gurus win, then no one should complain that rascals are sitting in the Vyasasanas of ISKCON, and sitting there legally, because we get what we desire. So for me, whatever other problems MPD has, he is the only person who has even had any slight snowball in hell chance of making Srila Prabhupada the legal initiator of ISKCON. So if we want to chop MPD's effort down, we will have rascal acharyas, and if that is what we want,, that's what we'll get. ys pd

=============================

OK, anyway, who was first to want to save ISKCON legally, by establishing that Srila Prabhupada is the initiating guru for ISKCON in the Delhi High court? No one else is even representing ISKCON in the High Court. No one else probably ever will be in the high court. If MDP wins his case, then Srila Prabhupada will be established legally (via the July 9th letter and other Srila Prabhupada documents) as the acharya for ISKCON. And if he wins that case, then we can LEGALLY use that case as a legal precedent case in other countries -- to LEGALLY make Srila Prabhupada the acharya for ISKCON in other countries, such as USA, by citing MPD's case as precedent ruling. One of the HKC folks just wrote to tell me that my desire to see Srila Prabhupada legally established as the acharya of ISKCON makes me "Bangalore's defender." Srila Prabhupada should be the legal acharya for only Bangalore? Srila Prabhupada is not just for Bangalore? He needs to be established legally as the acharya for the whole world, not just Jaipur, not just Bangalore, and this Delhi case may be the foot hold needed to make him the legal acharya for ISKCON. That is the actual struggle for truth, Srila Prabhupada's position as legal acharya has been usurped. I simply do not get it, people are trying to stop the person who wants to legally establish Srila Prabhupada as the acharya for ISKCON. OK then we will continue to have bogus people legally established as the acharyas for ISKCON, the status quo remains. If that is what people want, so be it. ys pd

Open Letter to B.A. Paramadvaiti Maharaja

Open Letter to B.A. Paramadvaiti Maharaja

BY: LILANATH DASA

In a recent letter published by the Sampradaya Sun written by B.A. Paramadvaiti Swami, addressed to Hrdayananada Das Goswami on March 16, 2014, I was dumbfounded by the discovery that my legal name had been libelously implicated in very grave accusations that have no credible source of reference nor concrete evidence to substantiate them among my God-brothers and God-sisters, much less in a court of law.

27 years ago on March 14, 1987 I left the Colombian Yatra with my wife and infant son. There are a variety of factors that played a vital role in motivating my decision to leave, namely the adverse consequences that arose as a result of a power struggle between the GBC's interests in the region, your interests in the Yatra which had thrived under your supervision, and the interests of "so called" representatives of Srila Bhakti Raksaka Sridhara Deva Goswami Maharaja. In retrospect, I realize it was a power struggle in which I was a pawn.

[PADA: Right, the post-1977 ISKCON manager's history has been largely a power struggle and has had little to do with "preaching to save the fallen souls." "So-called" representatives, yup!]
The explicit purpose of this letter is to emphatically and categorically deny your untruthful statements regarding my involvement and association with armed military groups in Colombia, my supposed legal plight to have you incarcerated, as well as the bombing of an ISKCON temple in Medellin. In order to present such serious allegations, a responsible person would corroborate their claim with a significant amount of scrutinized evidence, as an accusation of this magnitude requires a high burden of proof before being disseminated through such a public forum. I humbly ask the readers of this letter to carefully consider and distinguish between subjective opinions proposed in a disgruntled letter, and the documented historical events that occurred during that era.

[PADA: We have heard that there has been some connections to drug lords and the movement in Columbia, not substantiated, but which was used to sort of "create an atmosphere of fear" to silence various critics with threats that "we know the drug lords."]

You can imagine my surprise when after reading your open letter to Hridayananda Maharaja (Dated March, 16th), I immediately recalled our meeting at your Vrinda Temple in Miami, (towards the end of March 2014), during which no mention was made of said letter that had already been written and prepared for publication. Naively, I fell under the impression that our seemingly warm encounter was an opportunity to heal wounds that were predicated upon misunderstandings in the past that came as a result of a power struggle, from which you arose victorious.

[PADA: Guru means "heavy." And victory goes to, the heaviest guru, hah hah, at least so said Hansadutta. Heavy also means a goonda from the gangsters, he is "a heavy." Apparently some folks confused heavy guru and heavy goonda. The people who rose to the top, were they the most heavy pure, or most heavy thugs? What type of heavy were they? Heh heh heh!]

While honoring prasadam at your Vrinda Temple in Miami we spoke about our time serving our Guru Maharaja: His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada in the Colombian Yatra. We spoke in particular about a very significant event that played a pivotal role in the early development of the Krishna consciousness movement in Colombia. That event entails a donation of $50,000 USD, kindly donated by Padjavaly Dasi's sister, as a result of my preaching effort while serving as President of ISKCON Colombia.

What is clear and substantiated by legal documents I hold in my possession, is that I transferred the title of the property purchased through this donation to ISKCON Colombia. The trajectory of this donation, from its original source to a bank account in Florida in the name of the regional GBC secretary of Colombia at the time, was a topic of conversation. You told me that you were the person responsible for rescuing the donation and bringing it back to Colombia.

You did not mince words when explaining the aggressive tactics by which you were able to bring this donation back to our Colombian mission. You said: "I confronted and challenged him with the prospect of returning the funds to our Colombian Yatra, or being publicly denounced to the GBC body." As a result of the donation being restored to its original cause, we were able to finally purchase the farm in Granada, Cundinamarca (Near Bogota).

The farm now stands as the heart and headquarters of the Vrinda mission and is home to Sri Guru Gauranga Radha Vrajesvara. It is important to note that the preaching efforts that brought this accomplishment to fruition, could not have occurred without the collective endeavor of hundreds of sincere Colombian devotees, who were brought to Krishna consciousness by ISKCON Colombia at the time. The groundwork and inception of the Colombian Krishna consciousness movement was a direct result of my Guru Maharaja's success in establishing ISKCON, a global movement that has fostered the spiritual principles set forth by Caitanya Mahaprabhu in the lives of millions of aspiring devotees.

[PADA: Ooops, another ISKCON property was being diverted off to the Gaudiya Matha?]

During our encounter in March, We also discussed how you felt practically forced to leave ISKCON as a result of the GBC's coordination of a covert operation to hold meetings with you, while simultaneously pulling political maneuvers in other Bogota temples with the intent of taking control of them. There was also a hidden agenda orchestrated by "so called" representatives of Srila Sridhara Maharaja, to take the farm and place it under the banner of the Sri Caitanya Saraswat Math.

[PADA: Yep, taking over disciples, taking over buildings, same as occurred in the Gaudiya Matha.]

By preventing all of this from happening, I believe it was your sincere belief that you were protecting your service to Srila Prabhupada. I also believe that if the GBC would have treated you in a more compassionate way, and would have been more understanding of your vision and aspirations for the Colombian Krishna consciousness movement, rather than part ways, a coalition could have been established.

Unfortunately that was not the case. We all encounter personal experiences that encompass certain determining factors that do not lie within the confines of our ability to control or decide their outcome. The Supreme controller Paramesvara oversees our destiny to a certain degree. Even the falling of a leaf from a tree bears His divine intention. He also provides for a vacuum of divine intervention in which human will and self-determination are allowed to exercise their forces freely, regardless of whether they are guided by worldly or divine aspirations.

After a recent trip to Colombia, I was left very happy and impressed by the fruit of your service to our Srila Prabhupada. It is especially impressive that throughout your service career, you have constantly striven to make a point for harmony among vaisnavas and have emphasized creating harmonious and respectful relations among them. This was made evident in my association with many of your followers there.

I recall when I personally went with you to His Divine Grace Bhakti Vaibhava Puri Maharaja to humbly ask for his signature, in order for him to become the president of the "World Vaishnava Association." You adopted the original idea given by Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakur to create harmony and respect among vaisnavas. Ironically, the same breathe with which you speak of this shares an antonymous hand that wrongfully accuses me of being the person who denounced you among the Colombian authorities for alleged illegal activities.

Again, I DECLARE THIS TO BE COMPLETELY UNTRUE. It has taken 27 years for you to publicize what has been harbored in your mind regarding my actions during that time. It is interesting that during those 27 years, you have never made any mention to me of it. Not even a call to discuss it. However, you have on multiple occasions in the past, reached out to me regarding a property adjacent to the farm in Granada which was never signed over to ISKCON Colombia. It seems to me that your spiritual and managerial aptitudes are more efficiently exercised when "rescuing" funds in foreign bank accounts, than when a loyal servant of the Krishna consciousness movement in Colombia is ostracized by the very same political tactics you speak against.

It also seems Maharaja, you were both victim AND perpetrator of these wrongs. I know how it feels to be quarantined by the very institution one has rendered his sincere devotion to, because I was subjected to the same treatment by you. You mention in your letter to Hridayananda Das Goswami that when he directed you to the "village" of Colombia there was no leader there. Well, in the same way that Hrdayananda Das Goswami was not able to, or maybe did not want to recognize you as successful leader in Brazil, in that same fashion you failed to recognize my activities in the field of preaching in Colombia.

I will not say that your arrival in Bogota was opportunistic. Rather, it coincided with two promising factors.

1) An already established spiritual program with more than 60 devotees. This was only possible by the work of Havi Prabhu, whom I consider to be the original father of the movement in Colombia. He laid the very first stone of the movement's foundation. Before him there was nothing. With his sincere and arduous work, along with the help of many vaisnavas who participated in the movement's early stage, we were able to establish the first Colombian Yatra. All this occurred prior to acquiring the farm.

2) The $50,000 USD donation that was already promised by the donor, but had not yet materialized. When you arrived in Colombia I was the Temple President and had the serious commitment of obtaining a donation for the farm that today stands as evidence of that endeavor. Regardless of how various outside forces implemented coercive tactics to influence the development of a movement still in its infancy, I believe you and I agreed that what was being presented to us by these forces had a fundamental flaw. It did not align with our respective conception of the principles presented to us by Srila Prabhupada.

I find it unnecessary to enter into the historical details about the unfortunate political turmoil and mob-stricken circumstances in Colombia at that time. You know the truth about them. Hrdayananada Maharaja knows the truth about them. All the devotees who lived in Colombia in that time know the truth about them. What many seem to lack knowledge of is: Quietly in the background of these unfortunate events, ambitious hands from rival factions were reaching left and right across the table, in an attempt to grasp the prospect of appropriating themselves of Prabhupada's Yatra in Colombia.

Who was really entitled to it? There will never be a consensus on this issue until your wish of propagating harmony among Vayshnavas comes true. By the grace of Providence, or by the grace of turmoil and manipulation, you seem to have won that table challenge. Why not then "create harmony and respect among vaisnavas", as opposed to publishing a politically opportunistic letter with dubious accusations?

Sincerely,
Lilanath dasa

[PADA: Tip of the iceberg in terms of "property manipulation"? ys pd]
