Thoughts and Prayers / Kutichak Departs / Kashava Funeral / Book changes 09 21 24

Challenging this Person is called:
A futile endeavor.

Thoughts and prayers / AMERICA's GUN CULTURE

Oh oh, another cherub faced child (15 years old girl) has been charged with murder. She was a little hostile to her mom, and maybe a little crazy. OK, so why was she, and a number of other cherub faced assailants, given access to a loaded gun? No one can spot the problem here?

And whenever kids are taken out with guns at a school, usually by other kids, the solution is always "thoughts and prayers." But when someone tries to take out a politician, then he gets millions of dollars of added armed security, more snipers on the roof, and thicker glass on his limousine. Oh, you mean -- thoughts and prayers are only good for protecting children -- but more snipers are needed to protect the politicians? Yeepers! Yep, thought that is what you were saying.

Same type thing as ISKCON. The children's lives were messed up and badly. Are we going to fund an out reach program to help the ones who are suffering now? Well no, but they do have our thoughts and prayers!

KUTICHAK DEPARTS

It’s with a heavy heart that I share the sudden passing of my father, Kutichak Das (Francis Bolte), from a heart attack. Those who knew him will remember his sense of humor, goofy jokes and tall tales. He was a devout Hare Krishna devotee who dedicated much of his life to his faith, and was always preaching, even in his final days.

Nothing can prepare you for the death of a loved one, but the idea that death isn’t our final resting place brings some comfort. I’m reminded of this verse from the Bhagavad Gita: “The soul is neither born, nor does it ever die; nor having once existed, does it ever cease to be. The soul is without birth, eternal, immortal, and ageless.” I’d like to think of his soul as embarking on its next adventure, that it’s not the end, but a new beginning.

Thank you to everyone who was a good friend to Kuti. I am forever grateful for the impact you made on his life, and for creating a community for him.

PADA: Kutichak said he was happy that PADA was taking the GBC to task. Anyway! God speed spirit soul! ys pd

INDIA ARMS UKRAINE / SPUTNIK / KREMLIN POOL

According to Reuters, the Italian defense systems manufacturer is purchasing empty missiles in India, filling them with explosives, and sending them to Ukraine. Vladimir Putin is highly dissatisfied with this, as he was counting on strengthened trade relations with India and influence over its economy.

As reported by Reuters, India has been supplying artillery ammunition to Ukraine for over a year through European countries. Vladimir Putin is obviously not pleased with this. The Kremlin has repeatedly pressed for a halt to this trade.
In July, this issue was discussed in a meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Indian counterpart Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.

BOOK CHANGES

PADA: I do not take one sentence out of the context in any book, especially one line from a book, or as you are doing, a few words from an entire sentence, even from one purport among many others, or one book from a series of books. I understand the whole process is to make ourselves Krishna's servants, and everyone else who reads that book has got the same message.

I understand that some errors were made in the 1972, and we were not able to correct them because we are not able to due to the licence we have with the BBT. However, there were also tons of technical errors in the original Bhagavatams, but I loved those books and still do.

In other words, I understand the overall idea is, Krishna is not our devotee, and actually I never even had any idea of that before you came along with it. The overall message is what I get, and is what everyone else gets. But a lot of this was all "the Gita is a rascal book" made emphasis by Purujit, who made his own Gita over three years editing his own. And he was booted out of Spain -- supposedly -- at least as was reported to me -- because his host caught him pleasuring himself.

And in any case he spent three years making his own version, which has its own mistakes. So, yeah, there are some mistakes in the 1972, and we cannot correct them, but it is the best thing we have to make new devotees. And if you have a better plan, you keep failing to provide it.

So basically, you are not going to give people this book, and then they will stay here rotting in the material world. I am in favor of trying to save them. And this book has been doing that, and we have a number of 1972 Gita distributors all over the world, and some who are making them into different languages, and none of them think Krishna is going to be their servant.

It is not the common understanding people get from that book, in fact no one else has ever told me that Krishna is going to be our servant is the message of that Gita. It is not the idea that I, or thousands of others, get from that book. I keep asking you what your plan is to fix any of this, and what book you are going to give people -- and you have evidently -- none.

"None" is not fixing anything. We just had a Bhagavad Gita class online today, none of the participants think Krishna is going to be their devotee, none, as in zero. How many sincere people who read the Gita think Krishna is going to be their servant? I think if you did a survey, the answer would zero, or close to it. Srila Prabhupada said give this book out, and it will make devotees, and it is, and we are. If you have no better plan, then what? ys pd
