The GBC has now formally endorsed two incompatible views in the matter of determining whether one can be a guru: one view follows shastra and the other abandons shastra. “A house divided against itself cannot stand.” Thus the GBC has formalized the start of a schism. This will break ISKCON permanently and destroy its preaching.
This is also the beginning of the end of ISKCON as an institution that follows sanatana dharma. yah sastra-vidhim utsrjya vartate kama-karatah / na sa siddhim avapnoti na sukham na param gatim, “He who discards scriptural injunctions and acts according to his own whims attains neither perfection, nor happiness, nor the supreme destination” (Bhagavad-gita 16.23). Therefore, any institution that discards scriptural injunction will no longer be able to help its members achieve perfection.
It is a sad day in the history of the sankirtana movement that such a decision against shastra has taken place in the holy dham of Tirupati. This is very sad.

Breaking news: The GBC has approved female diksa-gurus for areas self-determined by regional governing bodies. This means that the devotees responsible for ISKCON in a given geographic area will be able to say whether they will allow women to act as diksa-guru (mantropadesh guru) within their zone. The measure passed by only two votes, and there were two abstentions. 29 members of the GBC were present for the vote. Before the measure becomes official, it will be voted on by the SABHA (Spiritual Advisors Bhagavata Assembly) and then will need to be vetted by ISKCON’s legal office before becoming final. The measure is expected to pass.

[PADA: Kanisthas / neophytes cannot absorb the karma of others as diksha gurus anyway. It does not matter if these kanisthas are male or female, that is not really the root issue. The good news is that this will force the "moderates" to break away from "Krishna Westerners" and some of the Jayapataka folks said they would sue the GBC if they passed women guru legislation.
Good, let them sue each other and that means they might stop suing us. Moreover, we can use their internal lawsuits in our own lawsuits to prove their are bogus. As Srila Prabhupada says, mundane votes have no jurisdiction over gurus in any event, the whole enterprise if foolish from the get go. ys pd]

I beg a pardon to disagree with critics who beat their chest on each and every move of GBC. There is nothing wrong in Female Diksha Guru. When we say Female Diksha Guru.. we are gauging Guru Tattva at bodily level. Guru is one who surpasses the gross bodily level, fixed in Krishna Consciousness.
Now, let's refer Shruti scriptures which is Vedic shabda Pramana to gauge whether females are eligible to read and preach Vedas or not?
Atharva 11.5.18
In this mantra of Brahmcharya Sukta, it is emphasized that girls too should train themselves as students and only then enter into married life. The Sukta specifically emphasizes that girls should receive the same level of training as boys.
Rig ved 1.164.41
One ved, two ved, or four ved along with ayurved, dhanurved, gandharved, aarthved etc in addition with education, kalp, grammar, nirukt, astrology, meters i.e the six vedaang should be attained by the clear-minded woman, which is equivalent to the crystal-clear water and spread this diversified knowledge among the people.
In Ramayana also we can see wife of Vashistha Rishi, mother Arundhati used to give Shiksha in his Gurukul. Even Sri Ram got training from mother Arundhati.
These mantras are self evident as Vedas are Apurushya, it has divine origin.
Who is Qualified to become Guru?
Srila Rupa Goswami gave simple definition in Nectar of Instruction.
Updeshamrita 1: A sober person who can tolerate the urge to speak, the mind's demands, the actions of anger and the urges of the tongue, belly and genitals is qualified to make disciples all over the world.
So, if a Vaishnavi who has devoted her entire life in the Transcendent mission of Srila Prabhupada, who is qualifying above parameter is indeed qualified to make disciples.
Now, after getting refuted from all logic based on Vedic scriptures they will point past character of female Guru. For them there is a English Proverb, " Every saint has a past". We need to understand consciousness changes with Spiritual practices in due course of time. Many crooks got purified their life and became Guru/saint in Vedic tradition.
Now, my Critics with half puffed up knowledge will start saying, 'Srila Prabhupada said this and said that....'
Dear devotees, Srila Prabhupada himself adjusted details but never compromised with principles. Our Current acharyas hold right to adjust details as per time, place and circumstances. Hence, we can keep faith on them. We can only protest if some basic regulative principles are being compromised. Srila Prabhupada was against psudo feminism, he wasn't against Vaishnavis.
It's just a small change in #details. GBC has not compromised with #Principles. Like Srila Prabhupada has given Bramhan diksha to his female disciples that never happened in Modern Hinduism. He also made female priests. But when it came to compromise with regulative principles he instantly denied it. So, female Diksha Guru is need of time in particular part of world to propagate mercy of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.
Hence, before pointing fingers get your facts clarified. Don't behave like Sheep, use your intelligence. Few people within ISKCON intentionally wants to create chaos to divide the movement. These are those jerks who are feeling identity loss in the movement as they have not contributed much tangible in Srila Prabhupada's movement. Hence, they start doing critics to gain footage and public attention. They negatively want to prove their existence. Srila Prabhupada used to say that ISKCON has fear of internal enemy not external one.

All glories to Srimati Vishnupriya Devi and Srimati Jahnava Mata who have paved the way for generations of women by their humility, tolerance, deep internal strength and commitment. Many congratulations to the daughters of Srila Prabhupada who have been waiting for decades. Their patience and trust in Srila Prabhupada's ISKCON and GBC has been glorious to witness. This long awaited, important decision opens the doors for thousands of women to take shelter of spiritual teachers they can relate to. It's a day in history to be celebrated.

PADA: Yep, no kidding. Women have been "waiting" to start taking karma as diksha gurus, so they can either get sick, fall down, get fatal ailments, or die prematurely, and / or suffer a number of the above symptoms all at once, as a number of the men have done.
Kanisthas cannot absorb karma, thus its already not ending well for the men, and it won't end well just because a person has a female body. Notice that now anyone who objects is "against ISKCON." Meanwhile one of the worst bull dog attackers for the GBC has just wrote to PADA, "I no longer support the GBC. And please do not mention my name as their supporter anymore, I am done with them for their making women into diksha gurus." Well one brick at a time, its slow ... but steady. ys pd
