Bull of Dharma finds GBC gurus offensive

Open Letter to ISKCON GBC and Members

BY: DEVAPRASTHA DAS

Dear Members of the GBC and ISKCON, we have seen that another diksa guru has fallen, one of many. We are told that the GBC is the ultimate authority, yet many times you fall publicly. What are we members to think? It's lila?

Three of you dismissed me as an aparadhi after I told you I found my guru masturbating with pornography.

What will you do when evidence is presented? How will you take care of devotees whose gurus fall?
Are we to continue to see GBC as ultimate? Are we to continue surrendering? Prabhavisnu has 1,500 disciples, how are they feeling now? Harikesa had far more than that, and my guru has half as much as him, maybe 3,000.

Please know that I have taken one item of pornographic magazine, and will request you to check if his fingerprints match on it. This will be a legal case -- me against the so-called guru. I have one godsister who says she feels uncomfortable in his presence, like he undresses her with his eyes.

I agree with Rupanuga Prabhu, let's take shelter of Srila Prabhupada and forget these other people. When will you allow us to do so without us becoming labeled aparadhis? And I want to suggest you stop these guru seminars on how to be a good guru. It doesn't make sense, Anuttama is one instructor of those classes and he is grihasta. How silly is this?

I am not upset, I'm relieved, I now know what the truth is and how to worship, and who.
Devaprastha

Mayapura TVOP Planetarium project

PADA: My sources say that most ISKCON temples in India are not very interested in financing the project, and some of the big donors are not in favor of funding it either. Basically Al Ford has been funding for the most part, but he cannot do the whole thing. Its going to be hard to get others to take up the slack. Add to that, many folks are upset that the GBC has spent a vast fortune suing Bangalore temple and so far, they have not won a single brick for all the expense since 1997. My friends are saying, its like spending money on going to the moon, only to have a few rocks as the prize. At the same time, others are saying, the huge expense of all these frivilous lawsuits is why the TVOP program has not been going forward, all the money is going to sue other people and pay for courts and lawyers and not for the TVOP. Its going to take a lot more than what they are doing now to get this program off the ground. ys pd

Conditioned soul gurus? An Indefensible Position

Conditioned Souls as Diksha Gurus?
An Indefensible Position

BY: SATTVIC DASA

There are instructions by Srila Prabhupada giving a mandate to act as guru, as HH Bhakti Vikasa Swami quoted in his article, "Qualification for Being Acarya/Diksa-guru". There are also instructions given by Srila Prabhupada in which he restricts the qualification for initiating disciples. Yet again, we shall quote some of them.

"When one has attained the topmost position of maha-bhagavata, he is to be accepted as a guru and worshiped exactly like Hari, the Personality of Godhead. Only such a person is eligible to occupy the post of a guru." (Sri Caitanya-caritamtra, Madhya-lila, 24.330, purport)

"… You are correct when you say that when the Spiritual Master speaks it should be taken that Krishna is speaking. That is a fact. A SPIRITUAL MASTER MUST BE LIBERATED…"
(Srila Prabhupada letter to Mukunda, June 10, 1969)

"One should not become a Spiritual Master unless he has attained the platform of uttama-adhikari."
(Nectar of Instruction, Text 5, purport)

"Therefore, the conclusion is that a spiritual master who is one hundred percent Krsna conscious is the bona fide spiritual master, for he can solve the problems of life."
(Bhagavad-gita 2:8)

"The pure devotee is always free from the clutches of Maya and her influence."
(Srimad Bhagavatam 5.3.14)

"There is no possibility that a first class devotee will fall down."
(Caitanya-caritamrta Madhya, 22.71)

"Unless one is a resident of Krishna Loka, one cannot be a Spiritual Master. That is the first proposition. A layman cannot be a Spiritual Master, and if he becomes so then he will simply create disturbance [...] So to summarize the whole thing, it is to be understood that a bona fide Spiritual Master is a resident of Krishna Loka." (Srila Prabhupada Letter, June 10, 1969)

Taking into account the specific and direct orders of Srila Prabhupada that only a liberated maha-bhagavata is qualified to initiate disciples, and taking into account the destructive results of neglecting such strict parameters, it is unadvisable to keep defending the position that conditioned souls can be diksha gurus.

There are many quotes by Srila Prabhupada instructing us that initiation can only be given by liberated souls who are free from the defects of human nature. How can HH Bhakti Vikasa Maharaja continue to defend the position that conditioned souls can be diksha gurus?

That conditioned souls can act as guru is not in dispute. They can act as vartma-pradarshaka guru by introducing someone to the path of Krishna consciousness. They can act as a siksha guru by instructing devotees according to their level of spiritual advancement, or they can just be teachers, instructing people about the glories of Krishna from whatever position they are in.

However, the position of diksha guru is reserved for someone who is fully liberated from the clutches of the material nature. A maha-bhagavata devotee, an uttama-adikari who, for the purpose of preaching, comes down to the 2nd class platform in order to distinguish devotees from non-devotees. Only such a person is glorified in all the Sastras as the sad-guru to whom we owe our allegiance and devotion and who we must accept and serve as our link to Sri Krishna.

We have seen with horror the nature of conditioned souls who want to play the role of guru, thereby destroying the spiritual life of uncountable souls. (And their own).

A person who has insufficient knowledge and spiritual realization must bring aspiring devotees to the lotus feet of the maha-bhagavata. One cannot act on his own initiative and become a diksha guru without having attained the platform of uttama-adhikari. Even if a person has attained such an exalted position, he must be authorized. There is no blanket instruction that all Srila Prabhupada's disciples must become diksha gurus.

In my questions to HH Bhakti Vikasa Maharaja I quote HH Tamal Krishna Maharaja:

Room Conversation , April 22, 1977:
Prabhupada: People complained against [a GBC for trying to appear as a guru]. ...You become guru, but you must be QUALIFIED FIRST of all. THEN you become. ...What is the use of producing some RASCAL GURU?

Tamala Krishna: Well, I have studied myself and all of your disciples, and it's clear fact that we are ALL CONDITIONED SOULS, so we CANNOT BE gurus. MAYBE someday it may be possible....

Prabhupada: Hm. [agrees]

Tamala Krishna: ...but not now.

Prabhupada: Yes. I shall produce some gurus. I shall say who is guru, 'Now you become acharya. You become authorized.' I retire completely. But the training must be COMPLETE.

Tamala Krishna: The process of purification must be there. ...No rubber stamp.

Prabhupada: You can cheat, but it will not be effective. Just see our Gaudiya Matha. Everyone wanted to be guru. A small temple and "guru." What kind of guru?

I would like to remind Maharaja that this conversation took place on the 22nd of April, 1977. Srila Prabhupada states that He will produce some gurus but the training must be completed. He had not asked any of his disciples to initiate by that time nor did he ask any of them to initiate before his physical departure. How they have become initiating gurus immediately after his departure and how this is still going on 36 years later remains a mystery that needs to be solved. What we have witnessed is what Tamal Krishna Maharaja observed: a rubber-stamping process by the Governing Body Commission in which they authorize devotees to act as initiating spiritual master without taking the responsibility to certify that they are qualified to act as such.

IN CONCLUSION

A madhyam-adikary can act as guru but cannot act as a diksha guru, since the prospective disciple cannot advance under his insufficient guidance. Only the liberated maha-bhagavata uttama-adikari can initiate disciples and perform the function of a diksha guru by dispensing divya jnana and removing the sinful reactions from the heart of the disciple. Begging for the mercy of Srila Prabhupada and the blessings of the Vaisnavas.

Always remaining your humble servant,
Sattvic dasa

Censuring Srila Prabhupada?

Dear ******** devi dasi, Yes prabhu you are correct, people like Brahmananda Puri das and Uttama Sloka prabhus have erased and censured Srila Prabhupada's statements. No reason for us to be amazed? Why? The GBC gurus do this every day, they block us, and they block and censure Srila Prabhupada's statements, they even sue us for citing him, this happens all the time, so they are with that group.

This happens all the time, and I do mean -- all the time.

As soon as some people are confronted with statements from Srila Prabhupada, they erase him and his statements. In fact, they are often angry with his statements. OK you are right, that means they are against his statements. Yes, you are also right, that means they think they are greater than their own guru, they do not need his statements. They have a better idea.

I also like your idea, they have made a Soviet Era blockade on his statements, and made a Berlin wall so nobody can hear him. Hah hah, quite correct. Yes, why listen to Srila Prabhupada when we can listen to the Gaudiya Matha folks -- who endorsed deviants as their messiahs, and then they endorsed the bogus GBC as ISKCON's messiahs, and in that way they lead everything to the gates of Patala loka?

Yes, this is what happens all the time.

Why are people doing that you ask? Well a lot of these people were the same "goody two shoes" folks who allowed all the corruption to go on in ISKCON without their protesting in the first place. Worse, many of them got into the Gaudiya Matha's program that was supporting these bogus gurus, and they criticized us because we did not support their worship of deviant "acharyas" process.

Then, many of them started to adopt the Gaudiya Matha's ideas, such as: That gurus are appointed, that gurus fall down, that the jiva is not from Krishna lila (we are from who the heck knows where) etc. So its actually their karma of going along to get along, now they have lost their way with the entire siddhanta. Its unfortunate, yes you are correct, someone who censures his own guru is not a disciple of that guru, he is a renegade from the sampradaya.

Srila Prabhupada mentions this, he says there are many renegades posing as Vaishnavas. The first symptom of a renegade, he censures his guru's statements and replaces them with all kinds of nonsense statements. That is what happened to the Gaudiya Matha in 1936. I also thank you for your support prabhu, anyway I am sorry you are shocked that so many people would erase the statements of their own guru, but this is Kali Yuga, it is what it is.

I am also glad you have faith in the statement from Srila Prabhupada that we were once with Krishna, this is the symptom of a bona fide devotee. The cobbler believed such statements, so he was going back to God. The bogus brahmana did not, so he was going to have to wait many lifetimes to go back. That is really all it takes, have faith in the words of the acharya. And since you have that required faith, your path is open to go back to Krishna very soon. Jayate. ys pd

Was previously "voted in" as an acharya.

Bhakti Viksa swami is following -- what?

Qualification for Being Acarya/Diksa-guru

BY: H.H. BHAKTI VIKASA SWAMI
In Srila Prabhupada's lecture on Caitanya-caritamrta Adi 1.13 in Mayapur on April 6, 1975, he discussed the qualification for being an acarya. From the context it is clear that Srila Prabhupada included the function of initiating as part (if not a distinguishing feature) of the role an acarya. His Divine Grace also stressed strict following, and quoted the "yare dekha" verse.

Excerpts: "So we have to follow the acarya. Then, when we are completely, cent per cent follower of acarya, then you can also act as acarya. This is the process. Don't become premature acarya. First of all follow the orders of acarya, and you become mature. Then it is better to become acarya. Because we are interested in preparing acarya, but the etiquette is, at least for the period the guru is present, one should not become acarya. Even if he is complete he should not, because the etiquette is, if somebody comes for becoming initiated, it is the duty of such person to bring that prospective candidate to his acarya."
..............

"And to become acarya is not very difficult. First of all, to become very faithful servant of your acarya, follow strictly what he says. Try to please him and spread Krsna consciousness. That's all. It is not at all difficult. Try to follow the instruction of your Guru Maharaja and spread Krsna consciousness. That is the order of Lord Caitanya.

amara ajnaya guru hana tara' ei desa
yare dekha tare kaha 'krsna'-upadesa

"By following My order, you become guru." And if we strictly follow the acarya system and try our best to spread the instruction of Krsna... Yare dekha tare kaha 'krsna'-upadesa..."

[PADA: Bhakti Vikas swami keeps saying his GBC guru program is "strictly following." OK, and yet most of the "parampara gurus" in the BVKS guru system has fallen down, and according to Jayadvaita swami, many of these alleged messiahs has fallen into "illicit sex with men, women and children." Lets get this straight, illicit sex with men, women and children is -- acharya, and is "following strictly"? This is the problem, BVKS thinks that deviants are strict acharyas, sorry, they are not! These people are not even following ordinary mundane morality strictly, what to speak of acharya's standards. And since BVKS endorses the system mentioned above, and he is himself voted in as a member of this illicit sex messiah's club, that means he is endorsing the worship of illicit sex as Lord Krishna's acharya successors project. BVKS is not following anything, he is making this up, there is no such thing as the worship of illicit sex being acharyas, or those who promote that system like BVKS is doing, being acharyas either. ys pd]

Too many men at the top is not good?

I think Jagadananda is correct, when men alone mange things it can get too top heavy for the ladies, they will get alienated. And they are.

Sita pati is also correct that reform is required. That is what we are doing, we are making a paralell "Prabhupadanuga" ISKCON which is managed mostly by householders. That means women, and the needs of women, are much more in the picture.

So far we have 22 Prabhupadanuga centers in Russia, 4 in Ukraine, a temple and a farm in Singapore, and many other temples in places like Taiwan, China, Malaysia, Fiji, New Zealand and here in Sunnyvale, and of course many centers in India.

As you may or may not know that the GBC has spent $15,000,000 (thats 15 million) dollars suing us in the high court in India, so they are taking us as a threat to their top heavy old men "acharyas" management program very seriously. Anyway, our reform effort, guided mainly by householders, is taking root at the moment all over the planet. It really is not going to be stopped by lawsuits, its a grass roots process. We are also building new temples in India, and other places.

And the core siddhanta ideas expressed on our PADA web sites are the model ideas for this new grass roots program, such as -- no changed books, no preaching that acharyas fall down, no Gaudiya Matha program of a few "strict sannyasa" (self appointed) "acharyas" at the helm and so on. So people may like us or not, but at least we are doing something else. If you read my blog at http:krishna1008.blogspot.com I post regular updates on progressive preaching programs that the Prabhupadanugas are doing. So we are making a reform, its happening.

And since we are making new devotees on a regular basis, I hope you will all bless them with attaining their goal of going back to Krishna.

Dear Brahmananda Puri dasa (re jiva origins)

PADA: Your friend Ron Marinelli (Uttamasloka Dasa) told me that Srila Prabhupda never said we were originally in Krishna's lila or sport. Obviously, he does not read Srila Prabhupada's words very closely, and never has apparently.

Worse, he is citing books we were told not to read!

Worse, the Gaudiya Matha folks said that Srila Prabhupada's idea is bogus, and they still do, which prompted Srila Prabhupada to say, "some of my God brothers are tinged with mayavada." And this is why we were told not to read their books, which were edited by these (mayavada tinged) God brothers.

Worse, your friend is writing books about Krishna and Radha, when he is clearly covered with mayavada!

Worse, the idea that some souls originate with God / and some do not / is the teaching of the Vatican.

Worse, ... and of course, how much worse can it get? Well here is where it gets worse, almost whenever we cite Srila Prabhupada, this makes a certain sector of people angry. Story of my life. Anyway, for the record here is the quote, its does exist, and for the record, your friend Uttama Sloka is simply -- wrong. He has never understood our siddhanta, plain and simple. And for the record anyone who gets angry at Srila Prabhupada for making a statement, is not doing well spiritually. And so we hope your friend will apologize for insulting and attacking the words of the acharya and denying and defying his statements. ys pd

SRILA PRABHUPADA: "As soon as we try to become Lord, immediately we are covered by Maya. Formerly, we were with Krishna in His lila or sport, but this covering of Maya may be of very, very, very, very long duration. Therefore, many creations are coming and going. Due to this long period of time, it is sometimes said that we are ever-conditioned . . . Unless one develops full devotional service to Krishna, he goes up only to brahma-sayujya but falls down. After millions and millions of years of keeping oneself away from the lila of the Lord, when one comes to Krishna consciousness, this period becomes insignificant, just like dreaming. Because he falls down from brahma sayujya, he thinks that may be his origin, but he does not remember that, before that even, he was with Krishna." Anarthas and the demons of Krishna Lila

A BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE DEMONS AND THE ANARTHAS THEY
REPRESENT

In his Sri Caitanya Siksamrta Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura gives the following summary of the demons Krsna killed in His Vrndavana pastimes and the anarthas they represent. (Of course we should note that not in all cases is Lord Krsna dealing with demons as such, like in the pastime of the Brahma-vimohana-lila, and the lifting of Govardhana Hill, although He is always dealing with people who have antagonistic mentalities.)

1. Putana represents The pseudo-guru, which may be either a person or one’s own conditioned mind.
The pseudo-guru may appear in one or both of two forms:

A deceitful, so-called guru who preaches sense gratification or liberation or both. In some cases this may be a person who is engaged in some Krsna conscious activity but has not realized the course of pure devotional service and tries to give instructions to his disciples beyond his own understanding, or without regard for their situations.

The inwardly manifest "spiritual" guide, in the form of the mundane empiric reasoning faculty (the material mind), is also like Putana.

2. Sakatasura (the cart demon). The tendency to carry the cartload of bad habits accumulated in this life and previous lives. He also represents lethargy and dullness.

3. Deliverance of Nalakuvara and Manigriva (breaking the twin arjuna trees). Arrogant pride from puffed-up aristocracy, rooted in madness for wealth.

4. Vatsasura (the calf-demon). A childish type of mentality which gives rise to a type of greediness which results in a wicked type of mischievousness.

5. Bakasura (the duck/stork demon). Cunning duplicity, deceptiveness and false types of behaviour.

6. Aghasura (the snake demon). Cruelty and violence.

7. Brahma-vimohana lila (Lord Brahma steals the cowherd boys and calves). Mundane activities and speculative scholasticism.

8. Dhenukasura (the ass demon). Dhenukasura is the evil of licentiousness, gain, honor and aspiration for selfish end.Gross materialistic intelligence, ignorance of spiritual knowledge.

9. Kaliya (chastising the Kaliya serpent). Brutality and treachery.

10. Extinguishing the First Forest Fire. Inter-communal discord among Vaisnavas.

11. Pralambasura (killing the Pralamba demon). Lusty inclinations desire for personal gain or honour.

12. The Second Forest Fire. Disruption of religious principles and interference with religious people by atheism.

13. Correcting the Brahmanas Performing Sacrifice. Callousness towards Krsna due to pride because of one's position in varnasrama.

14. Overcoming the Pride of Lord Indra, Demigod worship, and the tendency to think "I am Supreme."

15. Nanda Maharaja Stolen by Varuna. Thinking that spiritual life can be enhanced by intoxication.

16. Nanda Maharaja Delivered from the Snake. Rescuing the truth of eternal Krsna consciousness which has been swallowed by impersonalists.

17. Sankhacuda (killing the conch-shell demon and retrieving the jewel stolen by him). Proneness towards acquiring name and fame, and desire for sensuous enjoyment, under the plea of devotion.

18. Aristasura (the bull demon).Pride arising from indulging in false religions invented by cheaters which causes neglect of bhakti.

19. Kesi (the horse demon). The feeling that "I am a great devotee and spiritual master"

20. Vyomasura (the sky demon). Associating with thieves and other rascals, and with people who put themselves forward as avataras.

21.Trnavarta (the whirlwind demon). The false pride arising from material scholarship, which gives rise to bogus philosophies.

Bhaktivinoda Thakura says:

"The devotee who worships the holy name should first petition the Lord for the strength to cast out all these unfavourable tendencies — and should pray thus before Lord Hari on a daily basis. By doing this regularly, the devotee's heart will eventually become purified. Sri Krsna has killed a number of demons which may arise in the kingdom of the heart — so in order to destroy these problems, a devotee must cry very humbly before the Lord and admit defeat — then the Lord will nullify all contaminations."

BVKS disciple in ISKCON Baroda scandal?

Iskcon Baroda in Gujarat state of India is situated on a large plot of land in the centre of the city at Gotri road. The deities are beautiful, Sri Sri Radha shyam sunder, Sri Sri Nitai Gour and Sri Jagannath , baladev and subhadra maa.

Such a nice devotional atmosphere and the beautiful temple has one major Problem, the vice president Nityananda ram das (formerly a truck cleaner from uttar Pradesh, now called Swami Nityananda by
some people) uses the choicest filthy abuses on everyone around the temple and is the real boss behind the scenes.

The temple President (only for the name) is HG Basu Ghosh Prabhu, has no control over this so called devotee who is his deputy officially. This Nityanananda Ram dasa has spoiled the lives of so many girls who
visit the temple by involving them in illicit sexual affairs with him and his friends.

Everyone in and around the temple know about it but they don’t care, since he is the main collector of funds for the enjoyment of the authorities of the temple.

Recently on February 17th,Sunday,2013 in the evening as the Sunday programme devotees arrived at the temple and there were lot of people also who came for the programme, a devotee of the temple named VIJAY KRISHNA DAS was attacked by people armed with sticks and he was badly injured and rushed to hospital for treatment.

The newspapers in Baroda printed this news the next day. The reliable sources from the temple suspect that Nityanand ram das ordered this beating of vijay Krishna das due to the the pressure that he got from the congregation, to leave the temple due to his bad behavior, which causes lack of confidence among the devotees, to visit the temple without fear of being harassed by him.

Ever ything has a time limit, patience has also a limit. Save Iskcon Baroda, Kick out Nityananda Ram das.

The background :

Many many times the people who visit the temple complined against the behaviour of Nityananda Ram das to his guru HH Bhakti Vikasa Swami and to the temple president HG Basu Ghosh Das. the matter was also conveyed to HG Yasomatinandan das, who is the leader for Iskcon Gujarat.

1. One time, the students who come every evening to the temple and do seva saw Nityananda rama das in a compromising position with a girl in the guest house and they called the head pujari and showed him the
situation, and it was hushed up.

2. Everyone who comes to the temple knows that NRDAS and his friends trap and sexually exploit girls who visit the temple.

3. After all this, NRDAS is officially a brahma chari.

4. The trigger for the trouble on feb 17th 2013 was that one devotee damodar chaitanya das was banned to enter the temple by NRDAS and he wanted to come in and outsiders armed with sticks were employed to
beat up congregation devotees.

UPDATE:

The latest news is that HG Jasomatinandan prabhu has asked the devotee victim to withdraw the legal case filed against the temple/NRdas.

It is very unfortunate that ISKCON today promotes everything that goes against dharma and does not implement the basic rules needed to run an institution at least like human beings, even animals are better, they go by their system of life only.

Narayana Mj objecting to "Prabhupada" title

PENNY: Tim, way back in 72 how did you even know who was who in the vast Gaudiya Math. Did the news paper tell the readers who the Gaudiya Math men were who had made the complaint.

[PD: Yes, it was Swami Yati maharaja, a disciple of BV Tirtha Maharaja as far as I recall.]

PENNY: You have to remember it must have been rather shocking for these men to see women and men together, yet they had vast kirtan full of old widows. The usual human hypocrisy .. Im just wondering how you pin pointed Narayan Maharaj in the complaints, since he always says he supported Prabhupada Swamiji as they called him.

[PD: You got it right from the start, they called him "swami maharaja" because they objected to his being called "Srila Prabhupada." Srila Prabhupada tried to pacify them for their objecting to his use of that title. Of course, they objected to everything he was doing, such as allowing women in the party and so forth.

So Srila Prabhupada called for a meeting of all the God brothers in Mayapura, including the worst objectors, to pacify them. I recall before the meeting Srila Prabhupada fell down and offered his obeisances, none of them offered back, that I recall anyway.

The mood was ugly, they were glaring at us. Narayana Maharaja was saying to the God brothers that no one should go to the meeting, he was trying to organize a boycott. That is what we heard at the time, but I did not want to make that public until it was confirmed.

And it was confirmed, I later saw a video of BV Puri where he confirms that Narayana Maharaja was one of the ring leaders of the boycott attempt (as we heard at the time). Narayana Maharaja was complaining about all the same things as the other God brothers, but notice, he was never able to get himself to call "Prabhupada" with that title, he used the same title the other God brothers used -- "swami maharaja."

At the meeting Madhava maharja was yelling at Prabhupada and pointing fingers in his face. We thought it was going to get violent. After the meeting they came and poured garbage on our land. Srila Prabhupada said we need to post a guard, my God brothers might try to harm me. I also made a video description of these events (see link below). Hope this helps. ys pd

Narayan mj folks going to Gaudiya Matha

Despite of his advanced age, Bharati Maharaj still travels to different cities in India, preaching the teachings of Lord Caitanya. He is the direct disciple of Srila Bhakti Dayita Madhava Maharaj, the founder of Sri Caitanya Gaudiya Math.

PADA: Madhava Maharaja was one of the prime people who argued with Srila Prabhupada in person, that he was not authorized to use the title of "Prabhupada." Now, the worse-case attackers of Srila Prabhupada are being glorified in what was the Narayana Maharaja camp. This means, they were never really connected to Srila Prabhupada in the first place.

Kirtan in London report

http://vimeo.com/59904754

On Saturday night we celebrated the auspicious Appearance Day of Sri Adwaita Acharya Prabhu, with another blissful Saturday Night Harinam. About 60 devotees took part. The Kirtan party left Govinda's and headed straight to Piccadilly Circus, where Parasaram prabhu's 'Food for All' project had been feeding a gathering of hundreds of young people that had been demonstrating throughout the day. When they saw him returning with a 60 strong Harinam Party, the young lady with the microphone welcomed the devotees and began to encourage the gathering to chant Hare Krsna with us. For the next 20 minutes or so, there continued an ecstatic Kirtan with hundreds and hundreds of people joining in with the devotees - chanting and dancing enthusiastically. It was beautiful and a astonishing. I think that almost every person there accepted a copy of the 'On Chanting Hare Krsna' booklet. Certainly by the end of the evening we had distributed almost 2,000 copies.

The Kirtan was powerful, and because of this, it was very easy to hand out the booklets. Everybody wanted to find out more about your movement

a little later, two really nice middle aged ladies followed the Party for almost an hour. When they finally decided to carry on their way, they came up to me, and full of sincerity, thanked us for making them smile so much. They both held in their hands copies of the 'OCHK' booklet along with invites to the Soho Street Temple.

Next Saturday is Lord Nityananda's Appearance Day and we are expecting over 100 devotees to take part in the evening Harinam. There are also kirtans planned for Oxford Street during the day time. - Bhajahari dasa

ISKCON Baroda in trouble

Caring for dying Vaishnavas (Janmasthmi das)

http://youtu.be/CoFSbtVE4-0

PADA: Srila Prabhupada wanted residential apartments and a "hospice" type facility for his elderly ISKCON disciples in Vrndavana where they could retire. And eventually of course, they would also die there while taking shelter of the Holy Dham, thus aiding their path back to Krishna. Problem is, this facility was never created. Now what seems to happen in some rare cases at least, a few independent devotees might get together to help create a "one time only" facility for one of their personal friends, but there is no organized system. This is certainly another major problem with the GBC mis-managing, the devotees who wanted to retire in an ISKCON retirement program have not been able to do so, and thus they are dying off in the West, and sometimes in very depressing mundane material situations. Its another big hole in the programs Srila Prabhupada wanted and desired. ys pd

Appearance of Srimate Vishnupriya Feb 14, 2013

SRIMATI VISNUPRIYA DEVI

Srimati Visnupriya Devi was the wife of Lord Caitanya before He took sannyasa. After His sannyasa, she lived a life of severe austerity. Every day, she would set aside one grain of rice for every round of the Hare Krsna mantra she chanted. At the end of the day she would cook and offer these few grains to Lord Caitanya, and that would be her meal. She is a manifestation of the internal energy of the Lord. And tomorrow is Her Glorious Appearance Day.

In the Bhaktivedanta purport of the Srimad-Bhagavatam 4.23-20 we found the following:
The words bhartur vrata-dharma-niṣṭhayā indicate that a woman’s duty, or religious principle, is to serve her husband in all conditions. In Vedic civilization a man is taught from the beginning of his life to become a brahmacārī, then an ideal gṛhastha, then vānaprastha, then sannyāsī, and the wife is taught just to follow the husband strictly in all conditions of life.

After the period of brahmacarya, a man accepts a householder’s life, and the woman is also taught by her parents to be a chaste wife. Thus when a girl and boy are united, both are trained for a life dedicated to a higher purpose. The boy is trained to execute his duty in accordance with the higher purpose of life, and the girl is trained to follow him. The chaste wife’s duty is to keep her husband pleased in householder life in all respects, and when the husband retires from family life, she is to go to the forest and adopt the life of vānaprastha, or vana-vāsī.

At that time the wife is to follow her husband and take care of him, just as she took care of him in householder life. But when the husband takes the renounced order of life, namely sannyāsa, the wife is to return home and become a saintly woman, setting an example for her children and daughters-in-law and showing them how to live a life of austerity.

When Caitanya Mahāprabhu took sannyāsa, His wife, Viṣṇupriyādevī, although only sixteen years old, also took the vow of austerity due to her husband’s leaving home. She chanted her beads, and after finishing one round, she collected one grain of rice. In this way, as many rounds as she chanted, she would receive the same number of rice grains and then cook them and so take prasāda. This is called austerity…

Rocana was very critical of this, however I think he forgot, its for children. ys pd

Missing tapes issue

Caitanya das: Yes, it is becoming obvious to many devotees now. Just the other day I did a bit of research and I came to the exact same conclusion that you have written in this article. Seems like you and I are a bit on the same wavelength.
===================

Why won’t they release the tapes? Because then their whole little bogus guru system will get totally crushed under the truth, which is that Srila Prabhupada never established them as diksa gurus, and in those missing tapes are most likely many instructions about the ritvik initiations.

Not one of these present day ISKCON gurus is anywhere near Srila Prabhupada’s exalted level. Let us continue to simply take shelter of Srila Prabhupada and ignore these pretenders who want to take the position of Srila Prabhupada.

I have 3 different quotes that are from different Prabhupada disciples about their belief and understanding that many of Srila Prabhupada’s 1977 conversations, tapes, and letters were intentionally deleted. Here they are:

Personal memory by Caitanya dasa:
I was in the guesthouse room of the Kolkata temple with Bhakti Vikasa Swami and I heard him say “It’s a fact they have deleted so many tapes and letters”. He spoke this in a tone of total disgust towards the leaders of ISKCON.

Gauridasa Pandit, May 24, 2010
“Yes the tapes were monkeyed with. When I got an ‘appointment tape’ for the BBT Archieves in 1990 they had the July 7th conversation first, then the May 28th was spliced in like it was one conversation. There were transcriptions of each separate conversation so I asked how the tape was produced and Ekanath said that’s how they got it. Ramesvara was caught editing other tapes also. Sangita, Siddhanta’s wive has the scoop on that one.
After Srila Prabhupada appointed the ritvik representatives there were tapes of discussions made almost every morning for weeks. I know because I was there recording them! And they are not available at the Archieves! On the ‘Grand Disciple’ statement I believe that was spliced in too ~ from another conversation where TKG asked Srila Prabhupada what his relationship would be to devotees if and when a guru was qualified to initiate on his/her own.”

Govinda dasi, May 24, 2010
One, that there were in fact many tapes missing from that time period. Yes, this is true, and my understanding is that Tamal had those tapes and they somehow vanished. They were from the same time period that the July letter was written. “http://www.vedaveda.com/prabhupadaroom/index.php?option=com_kunena&Itemid=70&func=view&catid=16&id=374&lang=fr

Anukarana, anasarana, there are two Sanskrit words. One is imitation, and one is following the footprints. If one tries to follow the footprints of great personalities, that is very nice, but we cannot imitate. Imitation is dangerous.

Sudama's account of the ISKCON take over

Sudama Brahmin And The ISKCON Takeover

BY RAMACANDRA DAS
This is a story which had its beginnings many many years ago. It was told to me by Sudama prabhu who left the planet in 1995. His leaving was most auspicious with devotees having 24 hour kirtan. Garlands and Tulasi were placed upon his body and he left to the chanting of the Holy Name. Immediately upon his departure, an unknown Indian brahmin came into the room, looked around, and then left. (It is said that if someone leaves their body and an unknown brahmin comes to the room, then that person has gone back home to Godhead.)

I was Sudama Maharaja's personal servant off-and-on in NYC for five months in 1975, and I later served him in Badger, CA for two months before he left his body. During that time, Sudama prabhu revealed to me something very intensely shocking and distressful.

We were talking about ISKCON in general, and after some time I then told Sudama prabhu about a conversation that I had with Satsvarupa Maharaj. I explained that I told Satsvarupa Maharaj at one point that I felt Srila Prabupada was my spiritual master. (I joined the movement in 1975, got the opportunity to see Srila Prabhupada, and I felt a very strong spiritual connection with Srila Prabhupada. I was amongst the second group of disciples to take initiation from Satsvarupa Maharaj in 1978.) Sudama asked me why it was I didn't get initiated by Srila Prabhupada even though I was supposed to. After giving Sudama prabhu my explanation, he angrily answered, (referring to Satsvarupa Maharaj), "He's no guru anyway." Then he went into the explanation of why he did not feel that Satsvarupa is a guru.

Sudama prabhu revealed to me that the day before Srila Prabhupada departed from us, all of the ISKCON leaders, including Satsvarupa Maharaj, the other original ISKCON gurus and other leaders met together to discuss how to divide up the world. Sudama prabhu told me that Tamal Krsna Maharaj and another sanyasi - whose name I cannot remember - approached him and said, "There is going to be a meeting in which we are going to divide up the world. Don't go anywhere, you should be there." (This was the exact statement used.)

Sudama prabhu attended the meeting horrified at what he was hearing. Tamal Krsna started off asking who wants to be guru. Sudama explained that there was some hesitation and then Romesvara answered, "I do, I do." Others raised their hands also. Sudama was shocked. Sudama was then told, "We'll give you Japan and make you a guru later." Sudama prabhu completely horrified asked, "Srila Prabhupada hasn't even left the planet yet. How can you be even thinking like this?" Sudama prabhu went on to say, (speaking to his Godbrothers), "I would rather bloop and falldown then to commit the sins that you are about to commit." (These were Sudama prabhu's EXACT words to them as he himself told me.)

After the meeting, when it was concluded who was to be guru, Sudama prabhu, (who explained that he was present throughout the whole meeting), said that Satsvarupa Maharaj then addressed the assembly: "Before we go back, we had better conclude on one story to tell all of the devotees. The devotees are very smart, and if we have different stories, they will know something is wrong."

Satsvarupa Maharaj along with Tamal Krsna then put together the story that these leaders would tell the devotees. Satsvarupa Maharaj wrote it all down and he and Tamal conferred back and forth with the other leaders in terms of answering all questions to make sure that there were no "loopholes" - the EXACT word used by Sudama prabhu - in the story, and that nothing could go wrong.

Sudama prabhu stayed on to the next day when Srila Prabhupada actually left. (This was the day immediately after the meeting in which our GBC leaders divided up the world.) After Srila Prabhupad left the planet, Sudama prabhu immediately left the movement, knowing what had transpired in that meeting, and the material ambition and visciousness of these men. He could forsee the destruction of the movement.

The assembled Vaisnavas may be wondering why it is that I never came forth with this information at an earlier date and am now speaking this out. The reason why I did not speak up earlier was because of how our guru and GBC leaders have so much indoctrinated the devotees that I did not think that anyone would accept this truth. I also have never used a computer before, and had no opportunity to be able to get this information out. I am also seeing that the situation in ISKCON has become so bad that I am feeling COMPELLED to speak out with this truth. I feel it is my duty to bring out this truth which was given to me by Sudama prabhu, for the devotees to hear it, whether they choose to believe it or not.

Your servant,
Ramacandra Das

Amish "dissenters and critics" targets of attacks

Hypocrisy of GGM and Narayan Maharaja programs

Only Some Books & Tapes are Insufficient

BY: FABRICE DUPUIS

Gaura Govinda Swami stated one cannot rely on books or tapes, but instead one must hear directly only from a physically present person:

"You may say, "Oh I have read their books; I have their association." That won't help you. […] You cannot understand what they have said merely by reading their books. Your consciousness is very low, so you cannot understand their words." (Gaura Govinda Swami, The Process of Inquiry, Ch. 6)

"Sabda-brahma will never descend through a tape. One must hear from a physically present Sri Guru."
(Gaura Govinda Swami, 'Q&A', The Worship of Sri Guru, Ch. 3)

Yet following his departure, his followers have been enthusiastically distributing his books and tapes! So books and tapes are only insufficient if Srila Prabhupada happens to be in the picture. If it's someone trying to take his place, then, magically, they suddenly become sufficient!

[PADA: And the Narayana Maharaja folks said the same thing before he left his body, we cannot listen to the tapes and read the books of Srila Prabhupada, we need a living person. Now that Narayana Maharaja has departed, they are distributing his books and tapes. They are hypocrites. ys pd]

False Spiritual Masters by Hanuman dasa acbs

"A sober person who can tolerate the urge to speak, the mind's demands, the actions of anger and the urges of the tongue, belly and genitals is qualified to make disciples all over the world."

In modern day ISKCON the so-called spiritual masters are often found making public displays of loose and frivolous behavior, such as playing rock music, painting crazy art, joking around (or dancing around) with young women, acting in so many unorthodox ways. The disciples of such so-called spiritual masters do not question such loose behavior; rather they appear delighted to see such frivolity. These foolish disciples can be seen wide-eyed and laughing, taking pictures which they then post on the Internet for the entire world to see. They never stop and question their spiritual masters behavior, nor do they express any concern. They think their spiritual master is acting such, purely for the purpose of bringing people closer to Krishna. They actually think it is his “special mercy”.

If these so-called spiritual masters in today’s ISKCON are making such loose public displays, we can only imagine what is taking place in their private lives. We had personal experience of this in our dealings with our so-called spiritual master Prabhavisnu dasa. During Prabhavisnu’s visits to our temple he could be seen sitting in the spa (surrounded by bikini clad women) at the public swimming pool. Many times he would take my car and go to the pools by himself and at other times I would take him. Either way he would happily sit in the public spa pool surrounded by materialistic sense enjoyers. Especially in Christchurch city there are always young Asian women in the spa pools. During my last few years in ISKCON Prabhavisnu would always request to stay at my home during his visits to our temple. He complained that his health was not good and therefore he required more sleep. My family would have stay at the temple, my wife and daughter cramming into a room next to the bramacaris. While we renounced, Prabhavisnu would settle into our house enjoying the facilities. I would humbly bring him his prasada, clean the bathroom, make his bed and take his washing for my wife to wash at the temple. Anything Prabhavisnu required we would bring him. I recall one time when we served him ice-cream for lunch, the next day when I asked him what he would like for breakfast he smiled and said, “ice-cream!”

Many ISKCON so-called gurus live a life of luxury and their personal lives and behavior fall far from the standard that Srila Prabhupada teaches and displayed by his own personal example. Srila Prabhupada was not jet setting around the world catching all the festivals and Swami retreats, living off his naive disciples and breaching the boundaries of his ashram.

Srila Prabhupada was absorbed in Krishna consciousness; he was busy twenty-four hours in the service of the Lord, leaving aside his own personal considerations and conveniences. Srila Prabhupada only accepted those things required to keep body and soul together. He was free from personal desire and did not act in an inappropriate manner publicly or privately. Srila Prabhupada has shown the perfect example of what it means to be a bonafide spiritual master, a pure devotee absorbed in his humble service to the Lord. How many of these so-called spiritual masters are achieving anything close to Srila Prabhupada? How many are rising early in the morning to translate transcendental literature? How many are constantly preaching every minute of the day, as we saw with Srila Prabhupada? How many temples are they opening? How many farms are they establishing? How many devotees are they making? The activities of all these fools put together cannot equal a few months of Srila Prabhupada’s powerful preaching.
